Honestly, she pretty much deserved it. Rafe did everything to find that treasure. He financed AND saved Drake in the beginning. He got out Sam from prison. And what HE got? Both of them betrayed him. Drake and Sam always cooperated together, and didn't let Rafe join even though he proved himself worthy several times. And, after Rafe finally finds the treasure, WITHOUT Drake's group, Nadine tells him that he didn't earn the treasure. How can you say something like that? Everyone who hates Rafe and says that he's a spoiled prick, please, just for once, look at his perspective. Drake and Sam is just as much of a villain as he is. Drake even offers him to cooperate, BEFORE the final swordfight, because he wants to save his brother and his own life. Oh, I see, when your life depends on it, you want to cooperate with him finally. Everyone betrayed Rafe. Drake, Sam, Nadine, even the guards in the prison. Rafe just wanted to become a treasure hunter and earn fame, just like Drake, Sam, or Sully did.
Tyler Caldwell Well, that was Sam's fault, he was supposed to be the good character, but he got angry because Rafe revealed his lies, and tried to take a life. Rafe is just as much evil as Sam or Drake. Sam is the main villain here, he lied to Drake, betrayed Rafe, tried to kill Nadine, just because he wanted the treasure. Rafe offered Nate to go home and live his life with Elena, but he declined it because he wanted the money to save Sam's life, which was a lie. Rafe killed no one, just Vargas. Drake and Sam murdered hundreds of mercenaries, to get the treasure they didn't really need.
+Radical Ed What! Didn't you watch the cutscene? Nadine made THE REASONABLE decision to walk away with what they got after her and PMC suffered too many loses and not follow her UNHINGED partner, while trying to change his mind, aboard THE BOOBY TRAPPED ship, but like the prissy entitled little rich boy who thinks he needs have everything, slaps her, bribes her men to THREATEN her to come aboard the BOOBY TRAPPED ship. Does that sound like someone who is worthy? Mind you he couldn't even find the treasure in those 15 years on his own. Compared to Sam, who rotted away in prison for those years because of him, to finish their mother work, Sam and Nate were more worthier than him of finding the treasure
+Radical Ed "Honestly, she pretty much deserved it. Rafe did everything to find that treasure. He financed AND saved Drake in the beginning. He got out Sam from prison. And what HE got? And, after Rafe finally finds the treasure, WITHOUT Drake's group, Nadine tells him that he didn't earn the treasure." He was never worthy in the first place. HE didn't find and reach the treasure in the first place, that was all NATHAN AND SAMUEL DRAKE AND THEIR MOTHER CASSANDRA MORGAN. The only thing he was good for was his money and apparently fencing skills, Nate and Sam did all the work finding it while he couldn't have found it in 15 years on his own. Why do think he bailed Sam out in the first place after 13 years. It wasn't out of the kindness of heart. The only thing he managed to accomplished along the way was to be smug, egotistical ass who gets his former partners almost killed and incarcerated (Sam) or abuse and threaten them (Nadine) and waste his life trying to kill his rival, instead of cooperating, in very petty duel to the death in a burning ship that is about to blow up, who just said he could have all the treasure if he would just let Nate save his brother, at the expense of his life (Nate)
Nadine didn't betray him, and being the dollar mule doesn't make you more deserving than the people putting in the field work. He paid for Nate & Sam to do the work, then he paid for Sam to do the work, then he paid for Shoreline to do the work. He is the least deserving of the treasure, everything he contributed was due to his parents money, followed by maybe Sam.
Nadine thought they did. Sam & Nathan were always able to stay a step ahead of Rafe & Nadine. Nadine knew that Rafe more than likely drew out the Drakes to find the treasure because he needed them which he did when he revealed that he tracked Sully's phone and then took Sam to help him find the treasure. Rafe isn't an experienced hunter like Nate & Sam.
Techie D yeah but Nadine also has impulse control unlike Sam and Rafe who were literally so obsessed they came face to face with death just to get close to the treasure. Nadine took a small amount of that treasure and knew when to bow out. I'd say she was more worthy than Sam and Rafe.
Before Nadine made good her escape with the small gold haul, she needed this guy to know she wasn’t some girl that could be silenced with a light slap and I don’t blame her. Sadly for her, Rafe found one more problem he could solve by throwing money at it: getting her men to turn on her…

Honestly Nadine got on my nerves too..she was a strong female character and all that but she was an annoying thorn in everyone's ass the entire game. Considering Rafe's obsession with trying his proove his self worth and his 15 year dedication to finding Avery's treasure, of course he would lash out when someone talks down to him and saying he doesn't deserve it. Rafe was brought up in crime and violence, betrayed by his parents who left him to rot in prison to save their own hides, then betrayed by both partners he trusted..Sam and Nadine. No wonder he is bitter and abusive. I still think Rafe was the best written villain in the uncharted series, he's quite a tragic one.
Where are you getting this form, betrayal by his parents? His was brought up in privilege and wealth in contrast with the Drakes and Nadine, he wasn't left to rot in prison, he infiltrated the prison with the Drakes with the help of his money. Rafe betrayed Nadine by making a unreasonable demand that was going to get her killed instead of walking away and then threatened and abused her by bribing her men against her. It's because of him that Sam was imprisoned in that hellhole prison for over a decade because of his ruthless stupidity. Even in the end instead of cooperating with his rivals he rather murder Nate in a petty duel to the death because of pathetic jealousy. Rafe doesn't deserved it since it was the Drakes, who have been it it a lot longer he has, who found it and he would't have got this far without him being on their trail, on top of being psychotic, egotistical, smug, spoiled, petty brat.
Ryan I read that after a shady crime gone wrong, Rafe was sent to prison and his parents didn't bail him out because they wanted to protect themselves and feared becoming exposed for their own criminal business. I didn't say he deserved the treasure, I just said I can sympathise with him and understand why he is so obsessive and bitter. Everyone he trusted betrayed him and he remained interested in Avery's treasure for a longer time than the Drakes were. I know he is psychotic and egotistical but I can understand why.
What ever you read was not true, there's no evidence that even lead to that conclusion in game. As i said Rafe was brought on board as the Drake's financier using his wealth to infiltrated that prison. Any "betrayal" he thinks suffered he brought on himself, as he rants about how Sam betrayed him after he released him from prison, conveniently forgetting that Sam spent 13 years in jail suffering for Rafe's crime of killing that warden in Panama. Well Nadine was justified since all she wanted to do was walk away after already suffering too many loses on this hunt, only to have Rafe not accept he can't always get what he wants, insult and threaten her to come aboard the booby trapped ship. Not to mention when Sam had Nadine at his mercy Rafe nearly got her killed if it weren't for Nate. He clearly does not care about anyone but himself so why should they? The Drakes were interested in that treasure since it was their mothers work that started all this in the first place, while Sam almost died and suffered for it, long before Rafe came into the picture.
Ryan I see, Maybe I just read a fan theory but I do know for a fact Rafe's parents were in criminal business and he was obviously raised in a violent and controlling way. When he killed Vargas and slapped Nadine, then reacted calmly as if it meant nothing..that's a clear indication he sees violence as 'not a big deal' because of his upbringing. Yes Rafe is a selfish asshole but he was obsessed with trying to prove his self worth. He didn't want to keep being known as that rich kid who got everything handed to him. Again, I think he is a realistic and tragic villain.
Again i don't think what you said about Rafe's parents are true. Their's was a family business that involved chain stores or to some effect. It's Rafe who is using it as front for HIS criminal actives. and as far as it's concerned he was always a unstable sociopath who would have snapped. He wasn't 'raised' that way.
They were both right in their own ways, but I think Nadine had the most logical thought process. By this point, risking more men and resources for that treasure was not worth it; what Nadine managed to scavenge was more than enough for both parties to recover.
You would think knowing that Nadine is a highly trained soldier and killer who defeated and almost killed Nathan Drake, a man who survived dozens of gunfights, brawls and disasters and fought and won against power hungry sociopaths who have a private army, Rafe would be wise enough to know better than to get on her bad side
@@dirtyfighters7751 yeah but I believe the reason why he kept losing was because he was way past his prime Uncharted 1-3 Nate would have destroyed Nadine
@@darthuchiha1418 Well TBF, he’s certainly out of his prime, but he’s buffer in UC4 than in the other games and even returns to adventuring with more Jiu-Jitsu influenced fighting moves. Such as the Kotegaeshi wrist lock, Triangle Choke Hold, arm bars, Spear tackle, etc. . As we see in the Rafe sword fight, his reflexes are still present, so I don’t think he’s too far out of his prime to fail against Nadine yet slaughter her entire army as well as Rafe (a skilled HEMA and Fencing practitioner) in a sword fight.

The truth is that Nadine did everything for shroleine. But she didn't want to put himself in danger for the treasure. And look? Suddenly her own company turned against her. And in fact, it turned out that after the scene, Nadine is not a very bad person.
She didn’t do everything for Shoreline. She was actually very reckless with her commanding and could’ve saved their lives by having them walk away numerous times throughout the game but didn’t. She does warm up at the end, but she developed off-screen (we didn’t get to see her process of changing, only the ‘product’), which is the laziest and most annoying way of developing a character. Her arc isn’t earned, she barely had any good moments throughout the game and seemed to only ever appear for the sake of being that gun-toting chick who gets pissed by anything bullcrap even when there is no bullcrap.
Heh. Give Rafe a sword like the one in his battle with Nate and we'll see how well Nadine fares against him. I actually feel more for the guy than Nadine, and I still find it hard to accept Nadine even though she turned good in the end Although I find it absurd how Rafe was still trusting of Nadine after what she literally just did to him. At least just leave her behind and go with your mercenary if you're so stuck up about the treasure so she doesn't backstab you later!
ngl at this point in the game, the real people who deserved the treasure were nadine and her mercs imo, NOT rafe or the drake brothers. i mean, nate and his crew wiped out the majority of shoreline simply because they didn’t want to try negotiating with rafe. as much as an asshole as rafe was, i’m sure he would’ve happily allowed nate and sam to help him finally find the treasure instead of going to war with these two. it’s no wonder nadine wanted to kill sam n nate after the shit they pulled earlier in the game, snapping people’s necks and throwing screaming mercs off of cliffs
"You didn't" Literally most of the people in this game's complaints about Rafe sound like whiny tumblr bloggers who can't stand that some people aren't poor, Rafe is not inherently lesser than Nathan or Sam purely because he USES THE RESOURCES he has, they act like Rafe should ignore that he has money or he's not a "real" treasure hunter. I love Nathan and Sam, and Nadine, but their hypocrisy toward Rafe is just that, hypocrisy. And I don't want to hear Rafe's worse for stabbing Vargas, Vargas just threatened to kill them all, Nathan can literally just break peoples' necks most of the game, and Sam would have absolutely killed Nadine had Nathan not yanked the gun away. (And Nadine is in charge of a militia, who knows how many people she's killed). Rafe's problem is that he's not quite as smart or as educated about history as the Drake brothers, which really sounds like a shallow complaint to make about anyone, there's always going to be people who are more educated or more intelligent than others.
No Rafe is not inherently lesser because he is wealthy, its because he is a psycho who doesn't care about anyone but himself and will throw anyone under the bus for his ego including his partners. Like Avery. Rafe killing Vargas was responsible for getting Sam almost killed and incarcerated in that hellhole prison, having Nate think he lost his only family for over a decade, while Sam had to suffer his crime for 13 years. Nate and Sam were the ones who found the treasure not Rafe. He wouldn't have made it this far if he wasn't on their trail in the first place. So yeah him saying he deserved it because in spite of this makes him a entitled brat who couldn't have find it for 15 years on his own. Nate and Sam have do what they against worse who would not show mercy towards them, in self defense and in protection of their loved ones. Nadine actually has honor and did have respect for the brothers in the end, and actually cared about her men unlike her client.
Lesson learned never slap a woman especially one’s who are highly trained and can take you down in seconds besides I knew deep down Nadine would turn good we all saw that coming
True! Except Rafe had a way better character arc, and the audience sees his motives for why he's an asshole. Devon Weston is just an asshole because he wants to be.
The Nadine, she think let's go from Mr Drake. "Over there Avery's ship in treasure. "But also Rafe he don't really care about catch Sam. He want stop of him. Rafe he don't believe her the Nadine. And that why Rafe this is MINE all Avery's ship treasure. Rafe he is one betrayed.
A fake strong female character. She is clearly shown with the power the whole time and then when Rafe hits her, she has to claim that power back and then is betrayed by her men because Rafe bought them... Making her an oppressed victim who then takes the moral high ground and leaves everyone to their fate as she gets to get away in the end... What a joke. I love Uncharted 4 but Nadine is the biggest problem in the game... She just has to be the bestest evarrr and be physically and morally superior to everyone around her (the men). Your "fights" with her... They're on rails. You as the player are totally handicapped and cannot hit her once. Now, I'd even say that Nathan doesn't want to actually hit her because he's constantly trying to talk her down while doing everything he can to not hit her like holding her wrists etc. He stops Sam from killing her and tell him to forget about her... He even asks Sully to get her to call off her army! On top of that... In the spin-off game, she has the audacity to call out the Drake brothers and still plays the victim card, thus attempting to show that she is in the right. It's poor, lazy writing and it hurts the potential for future genuine well-written strong female characters. This whole woke agenda is ruining our entertainment and our cultural identity.
You're reading too much into it. She's just a mercenary who happens to be female. There were zombie vampires in the first game, Yeti's in the 2nd, and crazy hallucinations in the 3rd. Don't take the game too seriously.

just looking back to old comments
that moment Nadine knew she was gonna kill him if given the chance
He was never worthy in the first place.
I never thought about it like that.
Nadine was the best character in this game. A strong female villain for once.
Jordan Tate totally agree hope to see her in the dlc
I did like when she seen that Sam took the boat, she had that look that read, "Sam deserves it, not even going to bother going after him."
Techie D none of the drakes deserved it ..i mean rafe helped them to find it but they both betrayed him
Nadine thought they did.

Sadly for her, Rafe found one more problem he could solve by throwing money at it: getting her men to turn on her…
Often, I find the whole "it's not cool to hit a girl" to be a tiresome stereotype. But when Rafe slapped Nadine, immediately I went "Dude!"
Lol I went "Oh boy you just slapped a highly trained militia leader across the face...how stupid of you"

how did you get it to over like 30fps at that quality?
Rafe was actually right. Not for the slap, but for everything else in this conversation
They were both right in their own ways, but I think Nadine had the most logical thought process. By this point, risking more men and resources for that treasure was not worth it; what Nadine managed to scavenge was more than enough for both parties to recover.
no bro he was even in slap. nadine said you didn't earn it lol if rafe was not her boyfriend she would never come close the treasure!
1:17 *S L A P*
You would think knowing that Nadine is a highly trained soldier and killer who defeated and almost killed Nathan Drake, a man who survived dozens of gunfights, brawls and disasters and fought and won against power hungry sociopaths who have a private army, Rafe would be wise enough to know better than to get on her bad side
That’s exactly why Nate should’ve defeated Nadine.
I mean Nathan is mostly just a brawler. Nadine is trained in martial arts….so….not really much far fetched
I actually personally really liked Nadine. Rafe was just annoying and everytime Nadine would beat Nate and Sam, I was just like, "Wow, she is badass." They really improved on her character in the DLC.

That thumbnail is going to be a meme, I just know it...
I can't believe Orca is standing against Nadine just for money ...

Heh. Give Rafe a sword like the one in his battle with Nate and we'll see how well Nadine fares against him. I actually feel more for the guy than Nadine, and I still find it hard to accept Nadine even though she turned good in the end
Although I find it absurd how Rafe was still trusting of Nadine after what she literally just did to him.

Man nadine ruined this game...
