- The picture on the video is me with my great grandparents in 1964, this is by the side of Winster Rd.
The road I started at was Winster not Minster Rd as I called it. Wednesday lost 2-3 not 4-2 in 1966, but were winning 2-0 and Everton levelled after Jerry Young failed to trap the ball.
The ground is still very little changed since the 1980s when it was the Premier ground in the UK.
Thank you for showing Hillsborough football ground and a bit of your life.
All the best for you and (with some limits) to Sheffield Wednesday, a FC with great history.
Got the wrong score for the Facup final in 1966, 3-2. I am going to add a picture of me to the video with my great grandparents on Winster Rd.
Hi Tim great video apart from. Showing Wednesdays football ground am Sheffield United fan lol lol ... 😂😂
Andy will be going to Bramall Lane first match of the season to show how they block of very road and have private security all over the streets. Not good for the residents, its like a war zone. Best Tim
@@timawells yes agree
@@andywright3450 I was so shocked when I went one day. Did some shorts but need to do a full walk around match day.
Been like that for years now Tim also near ground there only small street no where too park up
My have had links with Sheffield Wedneday for a long time two of my relitives have played for Wednesday
My spiritual home Tim , been going from early 70s to 2019 when I moved away . It has changed a lot in those years yes we needed a roof but it now looks like an IKEA store imo there was something special about walking down Herries road for an evening game and seeing that neon sign lit up ,the 6 floodlight pylons and the hump of the Eastbank. Still love the North stand probably the most iconic stand left in England and at least they still have kept the leitches gable on the south stand although not original i think there are only 3 left in england . Got to agree with you Tim all seating killed the atmosphere never the same for me PS like the wall art is it by Pete Mckee by any chance? Wawaw
I am not sure of the wall art Jon. Best Hillsborough looked was when the North stand was just built and the Old Leppings Lane and terrace was in front of the South stand, before my time. I am still waiting for an apology from the people of Liverpool.
Been there once, can't for the life of me recall who they played, or the score. 90 minutes of my life erased!
I think it was very different before all seaters. It was as much about the people. Its now commercialised Leon.
I was working at a al arge forge that day and I know what happened and I think the same as you and I have never liver in Sheffield
My dads work mate was a steward on the Leppings Lane and in tears the next day. I had relations living on that end of the ground.
I was born 1955
You will have seen Sheffield change more than me.
I am not in England I am in Australia .I googled for what happened in 1989 .
I do remember seeing it on the news at the time
The England vs Wednesday thing, I'm the same - much rather see Wednesday win
When I went every week I would rather watch Wednesday than England. I have no interest in England, so boring.
they don't even own the ground now
They do and they don't.
UTO 🦉🏴🦉
It said spell check.
Same old rust bucket though 😁
It's just one big rip off, everything's geared to to fleece every penny they can from the people, plus modern football's a massively watered down sport. I'll never go to a pro game again. Good video though.
That is it Colin fleece. I have my memories and avoid the modern game like the plague.
Wednesday lost 3-2 not 4-2
Yes my dad corrected me, got mixed up with the England world cup as I was 2 at the time. However they threw away a 2 goal lead when Young failed to trap it, I hope he wasn't your family?
My releatives who played for Wednesday were Frank Froggett his son Redfern. Frank's nephew Jack played for Portsmouth
@@richardsharpe2966 I have heard of Redfern,
