As a young Highschool student who is being put in a position of one or the other I relate to this. On one hand I only want to be the most impressive and best I can be for the man I respect the most, but then I talk to his wife and she can see how burnt out I am and she tells me to " Take it easy " but how can I take it easy with so much to do? Man, your recent songs have really hit me on a personal level. This one in particular, given that I'm in my mid 30s and had to make a difficult decision between a high stakes, high stress job and stepping down to something a little calmer. It's taken me over 10 years to learn that my career doesn't have to be the only thing I live for.
What really worked for me was backpacking vacations. You aren't really taking a break because of how hard your body has to work, and it keeps your mind out of your work and in the moment. 🙏

I didn’t quite find this on release, but holy shit I relate to this song massively. I was treated like shit and treated myself like shit as I went through high school and the hell that was IB. Coming out of it I’m out here trying to really take care of myself, I’m in therapy trying to be healthy about my self image and not being what people used to call me, and I’ve got a wonderful girlfriend sticking with me too.
