I exited from this stock due to electoral bond issue. Its promoter is biggest donor of electoral bond.
You did the right thing if you do not feel comfortable with it. It raises the issue of integrity and transparency in business which can be important to investors in the long run. Keep in mind though that some of the most successful business empires here in India are routinely accused of receiving favors in return for donations to the political party running the govt. They may have skipped electoral bonds route to avoid risks of data leaks and scrutiny by future governments. Thanks for your thoughts.

Very good in-depth analysis of the stock in my short list planning like you suggested take the risk study and scale up. You did not mention that BYD is in tech collaboration with olectra and major point it is Megha Engg group, which is plus and minus point after the recent news as largest donor in bonds case to bjp. But these guys will manage any party. I don’t think risks outweigh the chance of success. The other competitor in my list is JBL already established player have you any study on them?😅😅😅
You bring up several valid points. I am not sure how deep their partnership with Chinese major BYD is at present because it is under constant scrutiny from the Indian govt. Battery of course is coming from BYD. Will do a study of JBL and post my thoughts in a separate video. Thank you.

OLECTRA e-Bus have lots of potentiality in future share price will shoot up like Maruti Suzuki. See 20 years back Maruti issued share 225/- share now it is trading 12,500/- like after 15 years share price will be 75,000/- or more

There is one more way to evaluate olectra growth opportunity.
Olectra till now has delivered 1700 buses so far in its lifetime.
Management said in an interview they would like to maintain a leadership position in future as well with at least 20% market share.
In phase 1 the government wants to replace 8 lakh buses by 2030 so that means olectra has to deliver 2 lakh buses out of that (20% market) ..
From 1700 buses till now to 2 lakh buses its more than 100 times growth in the coming 10 years .. india currently have 25 lakh buses and they will plan to replace every bus in next 20 to either ev or hydrogen bus .. pls share your view on this
Plans are big but execution on ground is the challenge. Olectra plans to start manufacturing 200 buses per month, this year, about 500 buses per month next fiscal year. From FY27, they want to deliver nearly 1000 buses every month. So the EV bus industry has still long way to go before they can meet the demands of the govt. They are still talking about delivering a few thousand buses every year not a lakh or two. I don't think there is any other manufacturer at present who can meet these demands and hence olectra is expected to remain a major player in this space in coming years. Even if they deliver on their present plan of delivering 2000+ buses in FY25, 5000 in FY26, 10000 in FY27, their revenue will grow exponentially in next 2-3 years and stock should rise significantly. The revenue for FY24 is 1154 crores. In 2 years, management claims revenue will be 10x of the present revenue but for our calculations, let's say we will have a revenue which is 5x of current revenue = 1154x5=5770 crores. Let's assume NPM of 7%, the earnings would be 403 crores. EPS = 403/8.21 (No of shareholders) = 49 Rs. So, stock price would 49*PE of 186=Rs.9130. However, do note that PE is unlikely to stay high when revenue shoots up. Thanks

What about the news on Megha Eng connecting with Electoral Bonds I?? Any chance for a bad impact?
I wouldn't worry too much about electoral bonds. As I mentioned in another comment, MEIL was likely just being naive by donating through electoral bonds, especially when much bigger industry players like Ambani, Adani, and Tata are absent from the list. Are they not donating? Recently, Modi taunted Rahul Gandhi, questioning why he was silent on "Adani, Ambani" during these elections. Could it be because his party received donations from them? I don't know what methods the industry giants use to donate to political parties in India. MEIL will probably adopt the same methods to avoid public scrutiny and potential legal issues.
What I would be more concerned about is how quickly they can ramp up production at their new flagship facility in Hyderabad. They are significantly behind schedule in delivering e-buses to their clients. Recently, BEST from Mumbai warned that they might cancel the contract awarded to Olectra. Olectra was supposed to supply 2100 e-buses by June this year, but they have only delivered about 160 buses so far, with the deadline almost passed. The new battery norms and the move to the new facility delayed execution in FY24, frustrating their clients and investors. Hopefully, they will be able to resume full-scale production by July-August as claimed. Otherwise, their order book could shrink if contracts are canceled, potentially affecting their revenue projections for FY24. Hope this makes sense.
@@raghavendradiga I didn't see any politics here. Was asking only about the scenario if INDIA alliance comes to power on Megha Eng. The thing is how Olectra execute the orders.. Let us hot for good... If it is regarding the ploitis, why Modi picture was removed from Covid Certificates?
@@nadeerteeyem6047 In general, large business groups play well with all parties and MEIL should not be an exception. They would probably just donate to INDIA block instead of the BJP and move on. Only risk would be if the new govt is formed and its priorities are different than that of the previous govt. What if they decide to go slow on EV buses replacing the diesel ones? What if they divert funds to other sectors? Hope you see the point.

How u r getting industry PE details each sector, some website shows 30, or some shows 90 to olectra….industry PE is calculating based on that sector growth rite….electric vehicle sector of india may grow morethan 100% cagr ? According to indian government 8 lacs deisel bus to be replaced EV , by2030, if u calculate simply u need to change 1.33 lacs buses / year , we dont have any plant (including all players ) to execute 1.33 lacs per year….also more aggressive players can gain more market share in this sector😢.
You are right. Since growth potential is huge, the industry PE can be higher. However, for our safety it is better to aim for a low forward PE. A company may not grow forever. Competition or changing govt policies can slow their growth as well. I just went with the industry PE provided by screener.in.

Plan to keep doubling sounds very mouthwatering..few companies have met such tall claims.. Investors who have put money in this company will jump out when the company fails its targets.. But retail investors will hold on and expose themselves to loss of capital..
There are risks always but if they do succeed in resolving issues and ramp up their production in the new facility, they should do well IMO. They already have a large order book. Thanks for your input.

Yes the PE is high. The same has been addressed in the Forward PE Calculations in the video. This is a stock which can give returns in next 3-4 years if the revenue of the company revenue grows as per the current estimates. Thanks.

The growth has been lagging for last few quarters now due to new battery norms and because of the move to the new facility. Once the growth picks up again in next few months, there should be some momentum IMO. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Yes overvalued at present. We need to build position slowly. Their present order book is big and if they can deliver on the same, the revenue will shoot up and stock should give good returns. No doubt it is overvalued based on current numbers. But the question is - in the next year or two if the firm does manage to deliver 4x or 10x the current revenue as per their guidance, would you still consider the current price to be too high? When the earnings increase multifold, you may be staring at a stock price which has gone up substantially above the current price. @@raghavendradiga Sir, thank for the excellent presentation. I have already taken a few at 700 level. Stopped further exposure. As you said, 4x or 10x may take this stock much higher. However, the competition in this field is heating up. Margins will be thin. Above all, if EV grows at this rate, we need to build up infra as well. Their are many issues in this new field. Hence, as a retailer my advice is to take cautious approach.

Yes this stock is high overvalued.. AL is far better than this junk
AL is a large cap with 45k+ crores of annual revenue while the revenue of Olectra is still little more than 1k. The two cannot be compared. The growth potential of Olectra is huge and Ashok Leyland, due to its size, cannot match their agility, risk taking ability and focus on innovation. AL's strength will be stability, established market presence - if that suits you, you can invest in their stock. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
