I’m Fil/Am living here in the 🇵🇭. There are choices to live here comfortably, eat healthy, clean surroundings with fresh air and without pollution. I live in a gated village about 30 minute drive to Metro Manila like Makati and BGC. It all depends in traffic and the time I travel. I do IF which means intermittent fasting. Other than traffic and crazy drivers I don’t have any problems living here in the 🇵🇭. The one advantage living here is my money goes further.
So funny how Filipinos never miss an opportunity to brag every little things they can. Especially about their links with the US. " I'm not just a Filipino doing standard Filipino stuff. Heck no! I'm an FIL/Am which is a much better Filipino than common Filipinos". Philippines would never be Philippines without people like you. Keep it up.

There's no perfect country. Every country has good and bad side. You can't compare each country because they have different traditions, cultures and customs. Philippines is not good for finicky, fussy and snooty foreigners. 🤨🤨 However, there's more fun in the Philippines. ❤😍
Who's talking about a perfect country? If it would be at least decent, but it's not. There are so many problems and sources of danger. How can you ignore it? We can't pretend problems don't exist. Everything is too in-your-face. Nothing works. When you must give money to the police or treat them in a restaurant for them to do their jobs, there's a big problem.
@gracia130 Every country has its pros and cons, and comparing them can be tricky because of their unique traditions and cultures. Thanks for your insight!
@@LoveLiveDiscover Let's be fair. The Philippines have way too many cons, and problems. Life quality is very low. It's overpopulated, and there's not enough opportunities for everyone. Many things that are very simple and easy for everyone in the west are hard, and complicated in the Philippines. Like throwing waste in a garbage can for example.
@@callofthecthulhu4148 From my perspective as an expat, I don’t see that many cons. Like in other Asian countries, there are a lot of street dogs, language barriers, or getting overcharged everywhere because you're a foreigner. But for me, the Philippines, along with Thailand, are my two favorite countries in Asia. It really comes down to how you experience and adapt to the place.
@@LoveLiveDiscover Hi there. Thanks for your reply. It's a very interesting topic. I was referring to the living, and working conditions in general. It's a highly dysfunctional and corrupt country. Nothing works. I have stayed in a city called Antipolo. Extremely corrupt place. If I describe the experience that I had and what I saw to the average Norty American, he or she will never believe me. It was ridiculously bad. Most people there are in despair. They're so used to low standards and incompetence that they don't even realize that what they do is wrong. Trying to reason them only makes conflicts. Foreigners must keep their mouths shut. Locals don't accept criticism. I went in stores and establishments where employees seemed in depression . They work for very small salaries and must give it to their parents. It's not just few cons.
@DeborahOlson-r2n Thanks for the suggestion! Dumaguete is known for its expat-friendly vibe and beautiful scenery. I’ll definitely consider it for future travels!
@fenderbend3r I totally understand! In my experience, it was actually cheaper for me to pay per visit at the hospital, and thankfully, nothing serious happened. But I definitely see the value in having travel insurance for peace of mind!
@dennis.teevee It was a slip of the tongue, I wrote 50 on the screen, not 500 euros. But it`s till a lot for a several hours ferry in Asia, in my opinion.
You know, you and the hubby can fix all the cons you are experiencing in the country by simply moving back to the country of your origin. There, maybe all your worries would go away. No place like home. What's stopping you?
@@rogersmith1408 Did you understand my post? Tell me where I corrected anything in her opinion, or disagreed on her cons? Use your brain before you respond.
See this is a perspective of a foreign female which is totally different in many aspects from the perspective of a foreign man. We foreign men have a big advantage, and that is the Filipinas that are so attractive in almost every way compared to the western woman. Lets be honest foreign women are not attracted to Filipino men. In fact foreign women are not attracted to any Asian man. But in her case, I guess being married, her perspective is different. Good video all in all.
The other side of the coin is that most Filipino men do not see western women as the marrying type. In your case, what makes you assume that Pinays find you attractive simply because you're a "foreign man"? You don't think they would prefer to be with their own kind at every opportunity?
@FrankSouza-ss7cz Thank you for sharing your perspective! It’s true that experiences can differ based on various factors, including gender. I appreciate your honesty, and I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Everytime I hear of any vlogger, not just you, who criticises any country's bad infrastructure where you have been puts me off big time because of your entitled mentality. You may not admit that you are but you really are. Let me tell you why: because you're telling your audience that you deserve better and that you shouldn't be inconvenienced by any of these things to keep you going in life when in the first place it's your decision to live in that place. Think about it and I mean contemplate about it and tell me if I'm wrong. Love this blog btw. Peace!

Very very very few modern infrastructures. 3. No modern transportation 4. No modern airport 4. Mahina or walang internet 5. Nawawalan ng kuryente (brownout) 5. Mahina or nawawalan or walang tubig 6. Nakawan at kikilan sa NAIA airport 7. EXPENSIVE accomodations 8. Illegal squatters, street dwellers and beggars everywhere, particularly children asking money from foreigners. Tapos sasabihin natin "Its more fun in the Phlippines" ??? Nakakahiya ! Tourism will boost our local economy kasi foreigners spend money in our country which helps our local business to earn more. Thanks for your honesty...I'm filipino and lived in multiple countries. A lot of filipinos are sensitive and don't take well to the truth/criticism yet they criticize a lot and think it's absolutely ok. My father had an emergency last year and had to go to the hospital but they kept him there for more than a week because they said he had covid. According to the doctor when my father was released, he didn't have covid but had traces of it. I called B.S. on it and told my family they saw a California driver's license when my father was admitted which is why they tried to keep him longer. They knew we would have to pay it. Luckily, we have insurance. My point of telling you this story is that even my mother was upset with me and told me I was always criticizing the Philippines. I was just calling it how I saw it.

Sorry to burst your bubbles for delulu expectations for a paradise world, utopia didn't exist. It never did. Well Eutopia do exist it's good alternative for your delulu.
true.i went to dubai and qatar this year and i got really sick, due to dust and allergens .stayed in the hotel most of the time. i didnt realize how close uae from india, one of the most polluted country in the world!
@BlazingMarikit7707 I appreciate your perspective! Personally, I'm not very sensitive to air pollution, so I didn't feel uncomfortable during my stay in Manila. I understand that every place has its challenges, but I try to focus on the positives. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
But theres a lot of western Restaurant there you can go and eat
@iansantillan5078 yeah, that`s what we did :)
Thats were your patient will be tested....we are tropical country... dont expect what you have in your country here...
@hectorquirao3617 I love Asia and happy to be coming here again and again 😊
Hi Julia.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel.
Thanks for this video explaining the "pros" and "cons" of the Philippines.
I'm planning to visit there next year and with your observations, it gives a different prospective of the Philippines.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
@floribertosousa2251 Hi! Welcome to my channel! I'm glad you found the video helpful. Enjoy your trip next year, and thanks for the support! 😊
I'm glad I don't have to deal with daily noise pollution while living abroad. I was expecting you to bring it up. Maybe you simply forgot, or is it not a concern for your family?
Maybe she never experienced it
@MagichourManila I lived at 26th floor and it was actually surprisingly quit in our apartment, that`s why I didn`t bring it up as I did not struggle from noise.
@eagleofthenorthmacroexcell6843 right, was quit in my home :)
There is a lot good hospitals like st lukes for example do your research first
@iansantillan5078 We've been to St. Luke's since it's pretty close to our condo. It looks great for sure, but we were disappointed with the service we received. I guess it really depends on the doctor you get.
Welcome to the Philippines ❤ new subscriber here ❤
@LoicFoundGrace Thank you so much! Glad to have you here ❤
There's no perfect country. Every country has good and bad side. You can't compare each country because they have different traditions, cultures and customs.
Philippines is not good for finicky, fussy and snooty foreigners. 🤨🤨
However, there's more fun in the Philippines.
I think Dumaguete is the right place for you.
@DeborahOlson-r2n Thanks for the suggestion! Dumaguete is known for its expat-friendly vibe and beautiful scenery. I’ll definitely consider it for future travels!
You have to have a travel insurance when you go anywhere in the world.
@fenderbend3r I totally understand! In my experience, it was actually cheaper for me to pay per visit at the hospital, and thankfully, nothing serious happened. But I definitely see the value in having travel insurance for peace of mind!
500 euros to ride a ferry? you got scammed.
@dennis.teevee It was a slip of the tongue, I wrote 50 on the screen, not 500 euros. But it`s till a lot for a several hours ferry in Asia, in my opinion.
Me pilipino but i also Dont like fatty food.. Mam can couse to high cholesterol
Don't get stuck in the Philippines. Try also Dhaka...sort of spreading the love
Dhaka Bangladesh? My goodness.
@4rct1c9Ic3m4n thanks for your concern, I`m actually spending every winter in different country, so maybe one day will visit Dhaka :)

Filipinos people are different look,s like, because have a mix blood, Japanische, China, Spanien,,Amerika, 😅
"Not much" Japanese, American or even Spanish ..
@@enzos711 Who ask you?
You know, you and the hubby can fix all the cons you are experiencing in the country by simply moving back to the country of your origin. There, maybe all your worries would go away. No place like home. What's stopping you?
Lmao you seem triggered. You can't handle someone not sugarcoating their views?
@@JABM-AUWhy are you laughing by yourself? You must be nuts. You seem to have a reading comprehension problem too, clown.
Every place in the world has positives and negatives. I guess you somehow feel the Phillipines has no negatives? 😂😂😂
Don't be rude. People are entitling to their opinion, in most countries. If you see something incorrect, you may correct people, but, not opinions.
@@rogersmith1408 Did you understand my post? Tell me where I corrected anything in her opinion, or disagreed on her cons? Use your brain before you respond.
Have you visit Baguio city 🏙️ 😅
@DarkAngelBright no, I didn`t. Hopefully next time :)
Old people filipinos in Provinz can speak Englisch too.
The older and less educated the more likely less English ..
@dulseporree8280 yeah, when we were living in San Juan LU many older people did speak good English
@@83nomad5 They tell us so, in my RUclips videos :) Besides that I have been there once, a long time ago, but it was totally true then
@FrankSouza-ss7cz Thank you for sharing your perspective! It’s true that experiences can differ based on various factors, including gender. I appreciate your honesty, and I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
5 months = long vacation.
@waterbug1135 You might be right, but for me, five months is enough to say I’ve truly lived in a country.
Peace!
She is just comparing to other countries.
She tells it as she sees and experience. Food and HUMIDITY, I AGREE and I'm Filipino. I literally hate the scorching heat perhaps because I've a slight asthma but even some healthy Filipinos, they don't like the heat which we all can't do nothing about.
Eto ang mga problema ng pinas kaya konti lang ang mga foreign tourists at hindi sila nagtatagal sa ating bansa:
1. Rampant Corruption in government and public.
2. Very very very few modern infrastructures.
3. No modern transportation
4. No modern airport
4. Mahina or walang internet
5. Nawawalan ng kuryente (brownout)
5. Mahina or nawawalan or walang tubig
6. Nakawan at kikilan sa NAIA airport
7. EXPENSIVE accomodations
8. Maraming patayan, kriminal, nakawan, mandurukot, snatchers, kidnappers , drug addicts at mga pushers
The local and national government MUST do something to solve/fix these problems.
She was in India & Sri Lanka (jez) .. It's not "entitled bias" to point out Pro's & Con's to mostly Westerners watching her Travel Vid .. The Culture Shock (physical realities / Infrastructure etc) hit most Westerners & newbies hard .. The Philippines Infrastructure is lagging behind many SE Asian Countries, sorry just a fact ..
@@enzos711 The Philippines infrastructure is lagging behind many SE Asian Countries? Really? And you know that for a fact? I am sorry too that you are so full of CRAP!

A lot of Filipino commenting are so triggered of her cons. Typical.
When a foreigner doesn't sugarcoat what they say they become public enemy number.
@JABM-AU It’s actually really upsetting to see such strong reactions from some Filipino commenters. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and love the Philippines and its people. As a vlogger, I feel it's important to talk about both the pros and cons.
There’s no perfect world, why Philippines?? We speaks good English and we have only rainy and dry seasons in a year, but climate change is here now!! Just enjoy as much as you can.
"According to a 2023 survey, 55% of Filipinos speak English." You have not spent much time in "the Provinces" where 1/2 the population lives ..
You didn't pay attention to what she said. She actually mentioned that some provinces and villagers may not speak English.
;@@JABM-AU "You didn't pay attn" she started with "Everyone Speaks English" and later ment, some may not out in remote provinces ..A lot different than "44% Do Not"
