Wellens mentioned in an interview that he noticed this tackle by Asiata in round 3. Why not bring this matter up then? Sour grapes by Saints & embarrassing.
Nobody wants to see players injured from any team. However, the vilification of John Asiata is unfair, if not downright defamatory. As Kev Brown stated, he tackled within the current laws of the game. So if there is an issue, which it seems there is given the injuries, then change the laws. Everyone would support greater safety for the players.

Kev Brown is exactly right. The RFL didn't look at the incident the same as Morgan Knowles... because Knowles' tackle was ILLEGAL! In which, paul wellens stuck up for knowles. Hypocritical, underperforming coach trying to deflect attention away from his incompetence.
Do we select pundits with a limited intellect on purpose? Everyone has either chosen to ignore that fact or it doesnt suit the narrative. Knowles was found guilty then extra was called for, Asiata was found not guilty so what else is needed? I wish both a speedy and full recovery, if the RFL wish to change the laws then so be it.
