- 2024 was a rough year for some networks and services. Today I talk about these services, and how they could potentially come back in the future.

Not just in the US, but also here in Britain where ALL 5 channel 4 music (formerly know as The Box Plus Network) of the Kerrang, Magic, 4music, Kiss and The Box channels closed on the same time (00:00) on 1st July because of the 'digital first strategy'.
and also Tiny Pop
@JamieUploadsAnything415 that's right.
Sad to hear Noggin shut down. I remember seeing commercials for that channel when i was a kid. Nostalgic.
This was the streaming service
@@Lunar_WaveYTactually Noggin started as a TV network dude as it then was replaced by Nick, Jr.
@ yep
Also shutting down in 2024 is Scripps News OTA channel, which moved to streaming on November 16, and Tegna's Twist, which also shut down January 1.
The WWE Network and MTV Canada were the recent channels that shut down, the former of which has its content on Netflix
Unfortunately, the archival WCW material didn't make it to Netflix.
@@drewzuhosky6826it will worldwide dude but not in the USA cause of the deal with the Peacock as just give it time a they can't move everything over all at once as it takes times
True but I think the network closed in New years day which would mean I was 2025 not 2024.
I realize that this isn't for local markets, but NBC Sports Chicago also ceased operations in 2024.
3:01 Very unfortunate, considering Crunchyroll channel launching the year before. It seems as if the Crunchyroll channel will have a short life, but thankully it has a new home on Pluto TV.
You know whats crazy? These oldschool broadcast networks are going off air but we're getting lots of new channels popping up on Pluto TV, hell, even WBD started offering the main HBO channel on Max.
It's like that song video killed the radio star, streaming killing the live TV star. No longer people decide what you watch you choose your own thing....
I think my network TV will join the networks shutting down. It shares a lot of time with a lot of affiliates of METV and catchy, and with its original programing gone, much of it on ion stations, and the switch over between stations has been a disaster on many METV affiliate stations that share with my network TV.
MyNetworkTV still exists??
@@christopherdunne7848 It's glorified syndication now. WUAB-TV 43 out of Cleveland relegated MyNetwork TV to overnights once they acquired The CW in 2018. WUAB will reassume independent status this fall.
Also, tiny pop shut down i think in 2024, it was a British children's channel which had lots of cartoons and other shows, eg: Care Bears, Timothy Goes To School, MillyMolly, ect.
I might do a video soon of UK TV Networks that shut down in the 2020's.
Isn't it already back though?
@@g-forcefgt323 on august 21st Tiny Pop was returned to linear broadcasting over the same slots and channel space it has been ever since
MTV Canada closed on December 31, 2024.
For this list, I only considered a few US networks, but I'm looking to do an expansion and cover international networks and the rest of the 2020's in the near future. One closure in particular very closely affected me.
@@markscapino which closure was it?
new zealand's newshub also shut down
What about the Longhorn Network that also shutdown in 2024, because of Texas's move to the SEC
This wasn't a complete list, just a sample. But I am working on a complete list for later this month.
What if they shuttered the Noggin streaming service so they can do more with it. Like if they replaced TeenNick with Noggin 24/7
So many channels dies
What about the wwe network?
Apparently it still exists in a few random places, likely I'll include it in my 2025 list.
@markstevensvids no when they got the netflix deal starting today it closed everywhere. I'm not sure if you can get it with a VPN or not. As I understand it netflix is the only place for raw,and peacock has the ple events and the video library
@@markscapinoyes.
Obviously AI. The 'narrator' pronounces it as "freevee", instead of "free-vee" (as in TV).
IT ISNT AI
@@lulugamer8082 Well if it isn't, why does "he" say "feevee" instead of "fee-vee"?
The pac 12 network ruined the pac 12.
I’m sorry but that music is grating.
That's the first time I've ever received a comment about my music selection. I'll keep that in mind for future list videos.
