Thank you. I've always thought of it as a somber song.
I have always found it eerily calming it's a nice almost hopeful song but dark and dreary at the same time, it's fitting for its purpose of turning spirits into masks.
I agree! Plus , interestingly, I feel like your first cover is more like how I felt about the game when I first played, with strong fear and cathartic elements, but this interpretation feels more calmly full of sorrow and slowly working towards accepting it, which is my current view on the game.

"The fallen Hero - Trapped in the 4th State of death"
After a long search for his missed friend, the young hero was ambushed by a little creature, living in the forest. The creature, known as the horror kid, has stolen his precious instrument - the ocarina of time. A powerful - but most importantly memorable - item, a gift from the princess of the land he once saved by crossing through time. He chased after the kid. Unfortunately he felt into his doom. After a long adventure and a long search he died by an accident and awakened in a doomed world. He was challenged by the one who led him into his doom. He wanted to crush the moon into the earth within three days. The hero managed to get his ocarina back. And so he was trapped within an endless circle of those three days. Forced to witness the sadness and the panic of the people of this fallen land over and over again. Not able to sleep. Not able to rest. He had to use every second he had. It was far to late when he realized that this was not a real land but just an imagination. The five stages of death. And so, not knowing how often he had rewind the time by now, he is still trapped in the second last fourth state of death - an endless sadness.

One of the best Zelda songs of all time, do you think you'll do a song from Breath of the Wild, maybe like the song that plays at the start of the Life in Ruins trailer? If you can't that's fine.
That song is precisely what I'am experimenting with at the moment :P I'll probably release something when I tweak it a bit more to see the reactions, since I'm not sure it will do too much difference because the original is already orchestrated, plus I'm not sure I'm doing a good job with it. Then we will see, if I'll do Breath of the Wild once it's out...
