A great off-road trip! 👍👍👍👍👍 In my Ural 4320 model, I put extra foam in the rear wheels, the original sponge is too soft. I noticed that the drive shafts should always be cleaned immediately after a wet ride, wiped dry and lubricated. I use bicycle chain oil in wet conditions, it works well. Then squeaking and rust are avoided.
That's a good tip, they do get a fair bit of surface rust on the shafts. 👍👍 And yes I had the previous 1.9s properly packed out with 2.2 foams. I may yet end up putting some 1.9 foams around these dual stage ones. Just takes so long to do 8 wheels haha
@@antrc Oh yes, the wheels are probably the worst thing in these models, you have to go through a lot of assembly. When you think it's okay, you screw the last bolt, it turns out that the tire is falling off somewhere.
I love this rig, you’ve inspired me to get one, just wondering if those are the 1.9 Goodyear Duratrac tires? If so are they 4.79” tall or the 4.19”? Great videos!!
Hello! Sorry its taken two weeks for me to notice your question. These are actually 1.55 Duratracs from RC4WD on Boomracing steelie rims. Tbh they're a bit too soft for the truck weight and I think proline do some 1.55 tyres with a more blocky tread pattern which will likely be of a firmer rubber. I've already torn one of these, and they ain't cheap. They also have much bigger foams in now than stock.
Well JC, if I may, thank you very much for the compliment, and this truck came from Greensmodels.co.uk - otherwise you could try CROSS-US in America. Not too many other stockists I know 👍
At last. Right?? Can't believe how long it's been. Shameful. Tyres? I mean Tires? They are RC4WD Duramax 1.55s for a more balloony look per some of the army versions I've seen. On Boomracing steel rims. Could do with more axle thread to get the caps screwed on further, they're literally half a turn only.
*Great truck, super video enjoyed very much your adventure 🙏😎*
Thank you! I hope to see more 8x8 on your channel!
A great off-road trip!
