The OG Magic Kingdom Saturday! DL has a special charm that the MK lacks. And its filled with attractions...Fantastic vid as always 4K.
Yes for sure! I grew up with WDW so naturally I’ll always love MK more, but all the classic rides at DL that we have/used to have at MK are substantially better there in my opinion! Thank you so much Andrew 😃

DL Sat! Luv the start w/the BGM outside the park. Nice & long - great for the treadmill. Did your heart skip a beat when you saw the tree/mtn for the first time? Those crowds, now I know why u said it was a crazy wkend. Toontown confirms that but what a detailed capture. For someone who doesn't get to DL every month, you filmed this as beautifully & as detailed as you do WDW. TFS🤩💜
Oh yes, seeing Splash again felt so weird since I’m so used to how it looks here now with all the construction lol. Other than losing the Roger rabbit fountain(such a bad move) , I overall really like the new look of Toontown! Thank you so much for saying that Liz, it really does mean a lot! Having only 2 days here made it pretty stressful but I really wanted to make sure the one walkthrough of the park was as similar as possible to the ones I do here. Thanks again😊

Great walkthrough 4K!!! I never went to Disneyland. Two years ago I was in Anaheim and intended to go. I made it to the front gate, saw the 1 day admission price, and decided not to. I drove to the airport and got an earlier flight.
It was just a different feeling standing there at the gate with the fencing, the hotels along the street, the traffic, the monorail layout and people walking the sidewalk along the street to go into Disneyland. I grew up going to DisneyWorld since it opened and with all the space and away from the city, I'm sure that's the reason Disneyland seemed so strange to me. I guess I should have gone in when I had the chance.

PS...I wish Disneyland would have gotten DisneyWorld's "It's a small world" and Florida got Anaheim's IASW...LOL
Thanks so much Steve! I totally understand what you mean. I grew up with WDW as well so naturally I’ll always love it more. I honestly like Disneyland Paris overall more than Disneyland lol, but the original park here in Anaheim is just so special in ways no other Disney park can ever be in my opinion. All the classic rides in this park are substantially better than what we have/had at MK, and that’s a shame. I’d say only Splash at MK was better than the Splash at DL. At least we still have the PeopleMover here!
Where it all began! I was there once a long time ago after being at WDW many times, and the size and surrounding differences jump right out at you. I mean when you’re at the top of Main Street U.S.A., and you look up, you’re saying to yourself; ‘Honey, I shrunk the Castle.’ So much in such a relatively small space. No wonder Walt went super-size when it came to Florida. I do like seeing the subtle differences in some of the rides there comparatively. Hope you had a great time (even without a PeopleMover). 🍿🍿🍿
Couldn’t agree more Scott. If you grew up with WDW and visited DL for the first time, the differences immediately stand out lol. I’ll always love MK more since I grew up with it, but DL is such a special place and the classic rides in particular are substantially better compared to MK in my opinion. But yes, we still have the PeopleMover thankfully!!! Thanks so much as always 😃

Yep, the weather was beautiful! The nights were a little too chilly for me, but the daytime was perfect! Unfortunately this was just a quick weekend trip, but hopefully next time the whole family can go for a week or so. Thank you so much as always 😊

So neat! So many changes and so much the same since my last visit to DLR!! (almost 21 years ago!! Only other visit to DL before that was almost 32 years ago!!!). Something about being in the park that Walt built…and walked in. It has a different feel. Ah, nice…catching the Dapper Dans as you also catch the lamp up in Walt’s apartment. Feels like there are so many more trees in DL than in MK…maybe just on the hub. Oh m’gosh…Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride!! (that’s right…they still have it!! And that is where I first rode it! …had no idea of where you end up when you take a ride with Mr. Toad!!). It’s a Small World!!! Love that Mary Blair facade and that Sherman Brothers song!!! Very Friendly Cast Member Alert at 1:08:24 (exuberant waving!).
There really is such a special feel to this park knowing Walt himself walked in it! Yes, DL still has many trees around the hub! I kind of miss the similar trees that MK had near the castle, but can understand why they changed the area so much. Mr Toad is still low key one of my favorite rides! Winnie the Pooh is fun, but I still don’t agree with removing Mr Toad for Pooh at MK. It’s a small world here is also just so much better. Pretty much all the rides at DL are better than MK in my opinion, but at least we still have the PeopleMover!!

Great video! But those crowds are horrible! I've been to Disneyland on such days, the lines are so long that you end up getting on 4-5 rides the whole day, if you're lucky.

No problem Rick! I personally didn’t see any signs mentioning the Disneyland Forward plans. Maybe there were some mentions of it outside the resort, but I didn’t venture outside of DL at all during my weekend there. Thanks so much as always 😃

I've been watching in bits over the past few days, glad you got to go back to DL. I haven't been since 2000! To me it looks noticeably dense compared to MK, no doubt because of the size but I wonder what the attendance is like in comparison. Thanks for the video as always.
The park being smaller definitely may make it look busier than the MK, but I have a feeling attendance is very similar most days. Mornings here are much less busy at DL though, at least from what I’ve experienced! Thanks so much for watching 😃

It was only a quick 2 day trip last weekend believe it or not! If it wasn’t for Splash closing there, I probably would’ve waited to go later in the summer
I really enjoy your Magic Kingdom videos but this was a nice change. It’s good to see Disneyland once in a while. Besides, they still have Splash Mountain 😊

What equipment do you use? I'm having a hard time finding stabilization mounts for my camera
I’m a Disney world cast member, been to the parks many times. But never to the OG Disneyland. I know the size difference is significant but it’s almost like visiting another magic kingdom as opposed to the actual one
