This fixes bridge traffic jams because it is the big rigs that have insufficient power to get them up the steep grades. And gets rid of all those cars idleing for hours....Gas savings, emission savings and road rage savings.
Regarding Government, I am in my 60s and have watched pretty much every party make the same bonehead moves. If you were trying to start a small business, government is impediment . Just to get through rules and regulations and paperwork costs is enough to kill Most projects before they even begin.

I have not heard anyone use that saying in more than 25 years and it is still the absolute truth. I first heard it from my buddy, who was a longhauler. He said it came from his grandmother. The truth is always in fashion even when you "....rarely see it on the streets."
Glad I listened to the end and heard about the plans for an F-450 size refit. That would be perfect for ambulance & RV. This hybrid model could change farming. Edison's system would allow the biggest combines & farm machinery to run EV and keep working all day with a generator. I'd love to see Edison open conversion shops across North American. Windsor/Detroit (lots of trucks), Chicago, California, Texas. Iowa near John Deere for farm equipment. Just setting up shop and doing a few builds attracts business. I know a former diesel truck tech at Blue Oval. They love Edison Motors. I know an engineer at a green tractor company. Sick of the corporate nonsense. Folks like that would help Edison turn each shop into a billion dollar business.

Edison is on the verge of revolutionizing transport, cargo, and services. I personally put down for a conversion on my personal pickup (2wd Crew Cab '05 Powerstroke). The fuel savings, reducing the tax opportunity, ease of use, ease of repair, option to convert to 4wd from a 2wd, availability of electrical power (onboard air pressure to name one advantage), as well as supporting a "small" business had my attention from the first time I watched their videos. It only makes sense. There are just a boatload of regulations and BS governmental word salads to work around. This type of manufacturing is what the populace in North America needs to support.

The railway diesel electric has traditionally been a generator that drives the electric motor. No storage. In the last 10-15 years the introduction of hybrid trains has happened (I don't know how much deployment they have). Topsy is not the same, it's better than the old train tech. Or at least better for their killer app where it makes sense (like log trucking).

@NEEDbacon because if you have to work on that engine through that pannel, it would be horrible. On a regular truck, you open the hood and turn the wheel, and you can stand on the ground and work on the engine easily. Not with a big steel fender that is meant to stand on in the way. If the fender is easily removable with some sort of quick connect system that doesn't seize, then it wouldn't be too bad. Volvo has their bumpers with a 19mm allan key. You unplug the headlight harness and pull off the sides of the bumper. Then you can work on it. A lot of the cost of repairs is labor time. Need to make it good for us mechanics with easy access without breaking our backs.

20:50 Speaking from expirence with heavy towing, steering like this with big loads 0 or less front axel weights can be quite common. Having rear axels like this would elimnate so many scary but fun moments. Wheely control around hairy corners would be awesome.

With the dual motor e axle you could theoretically have the front axle as an e axle and skidsteer the whole truck or have each side spin opposite of eachother which would make getting into tighter places when backing up

This axle on a tracked vehicle would be awesome. Ideal for IFV’s. With a serial hybrid drive you can shrink the diesel and use relatively silent mode. Hope the guys in London ontario are paying attention.
Edison needs to also become a energy coop with every conversion generating 1500 kwh a day during am and pm peak needs. Use hemp fuel and its carbon neutral. Add solar install cat panel, battery bank for each roof. Add wind and methane and every ranch becomes a power coop member. The more 280 kwh batteries the better. Screw power lines, pay 50% peak to the producer not .05 kwh credit in CA. The utilities are crooks.

Wait till you start burning thru tires nonstop. The reason truck dealerships reduce torque is because if there is too much, you'll be burning your tires very fast and or break your drivelines. But that's just my 2 cents. I think I love the idea but I'll hold back with my Freightliner.
Yeah tires are a concern for all fuel types. The thing with electric is you can much more finely tune power delivery more than a diesel. @JoshWest247 Yeah but several of my friends have told me that tires on the new teslas just don't last due to all the high torque. So if you save 30-40% on fuel but you start burning thru expensive tires really fast. We'll then it might just kill the cost savings of the hybrid truck. But honestly I definitely would like to buy one myself once the become available.
@@paulputin3018 The tires have been a problem because BEV has weighted a bit more. But new design for tires are coming out to combat that. Electric motors won't wear down tires faster because of more torque. It can do it if you to launches very often, which is easy in a Tesla. Tesla has chill mode and Edison can also tune it (they have) so it doesn't let loose all the torque at once.
@@paulputin3018 We did some detailed research on that in Europe ... and most of it came down to the usual suspects tyre pressures and the driver both power use and poorer driving through the bends. Some cars would still shred tyres.
I live in the U.S.A. and the political scene is the same; this explain the system perfectly. I only wish I could have on down here in FL. More importantly @EdisonMotors has done an awesome job producing something in house; that Tesla has not produce for Chase yet.

For the most part, patents are a waste of time and money. When patenting a product, you need to give a comprehensive description of how it works along with drawings. Now all of your competition knows how to compete with you and can copy your invention because you told them how it works. Of course it is illegal to do that but they do it anyway and it is up to you to do your own police work to find out who is infringing on your patent and stop them. Even though you hold the patent, stopping them can be difficult. Check out the guy who invented intermittent windshield wipers.

Yes I have, RG is an icon, a visionary genius really. I worked for Wajax back in the 80s, when it was the dealer for Letourneau and Demag. My Dad worked for them for 21 years, he specialized in Letourneau on log stackers, when the were a staple of log yards in our forest industry. We moved to Tumbler Ridge for Wajax and the Quintette coal mine when it was brand new. My Dad was running the branch then. I also worked for Kal Tire in the mine, busted those big tires on the L1000. Chance has similar vision and abilities as RG, impressive.
The BC government is not very good at promoting manufacturing in the province. Ontario is much more manufacturing friendly sad to say. The US will throw money at you to manufacture there.

No real trucker ever needs or uses all 18 gears. An 18 speed is technically a 9 speed. Only you can split each gear. Some ppl might because they think it's cool. Waste of time tho.

Chace explains the unique characteristics of an electric powertrain and its massive advantages for reducing maintenance, increasing vehicle maneuverability, instant torque, simplified architecture, increased operator safety and so on. The railway diesel electric has traditionally been a generator that drives the electric motor. No storage. In the last 10-15 years the introduction of hybrid trains has happened (I don't know how much deployment they have). Topsy is not the same, it's better than the old train tech. Or at least better for their killer app where it makes sense (like log trucking).

Make sure the wheel fenders come off really easy. Otherwise, all mechanics will hate your truck.

Why, the Fenders are for sitting on while working on the engine. The hood has the unpainted aluminum bits come off and everything is accessible
@NEEDbacon because if you have to work on that engine through that pannel, it would be horrible. On a regular truck, you open the hood and turn the wheel, and you can stand on the ground and work on the engine easily. Not with a big steel fender that is meant to stand on in the way. If the fender is easily removable with some sort of quick connect system that doesn't seize, then it wouldn't be too bad. Volvo has their bumpers with a 19mm allan key. You unplug the headlight harness and pull off the sides of the bumper. Then you can work on it. A lot of the cost of repairs is labor time. Need to make it good for us mechanics with easy access without breaking our backs.
When your ready to do a three ton diesel box truck as a national demo ... Let me know.

20:50 Speaking from expirence with heavy towing, steering like this with big loads 0 or less front axel weights can be quite common. Having rear axels like this would elimnate so many scary but fun moments. Wheely control around hairy corners would be awesome.

With the dual motor e axle you could theoretically have the front axle as an e axle and skidsteer the whole truck or have each side spin opposite of eachother which would make getting into tighter places when backing up

This axle on a tracked vehicle would be awesome. Ideal for IFV’s. With a serial hybrid drive you can shrink the diesel and use relatively silent mode. Hope the guys in London ontario are paying attention.

Edison needs to also become a energy coop with every conversion generating 1500 kwh a day during am and pm peak needs. Use hemp fuel and its carbon neutral. Add solar install cat panel, battery bank for each roof. Add wind and methane and every ranch becomes a power coop member. The more 280 kwh batteries the better. Screw power lines, pay 50% peak to the producer not .05 kwh credit in CA. The utilities are crooks.

Wait till you start burning thru tires nonstop. The reason truck dealerships reduce torque is because if there is too much, you'll be burning your tires very fast and or break your drivelines.
But that's just my 2 cents.
I think I love the idea but I'll hold back with my Freightliner.
Yeah tires are a concern for all fuel types. The thing with electric is you can much more finely tune power delivery more than a diesel. @JoshWest247 Yeah but several of my friends have told me that tires on the new teslas just don't last due to all the high torque. So if you save 30-40% on fuel but you start burning thru expensive tires really fast. We'll then it might just kill the cost savings of the hybrid truck.
But honestly I definitely would like to buy one myself once the become available.
@@paulputin3018 The tires have been a problem because BEV has weighted a bit more. But new design for tires are coming out to combat that.
Electric motors won't wear down tires faster because of more torque. It can do it if you to launches very often, which is easy in a Tesla. Tesla has chill mode and Edison can also tune it (they have) so it doesn't let loose all the torque at once.

We did some detailed research on that in Europe ... and most of it came down to the usual suspects tyre pressures and the driver both power use and poorer driving through the bends.
Some cars would still shred tyres.
I live in the U.S.A. and the political scene is the same; this explain the system perfectly. I only wish I could have on down here in FL.
More importantly @EdisonMotors has done an awesome job producing something in house; that Tesla has not produce for Chase yet.

I sure hope you have a patent for everything you can.
For the most part, patents are a waste of time and money. When patenting a product, you need to give a comprehensive description of how it works along with drawings. Now all of your competition knows how to compete with you and can copy your invention because you told them how it works. Of course it is illegal to do that but they do it anyway and it is up to you to do your own police work to find out who is infringing on your patent and stop them. Even though you hold the patent, stopping them can be difficult. Check out the guy who invented intermittent windshield wipers.

Yes I have, RG is an icon, a visionary genius really. I worked for Wajax back in the 80s, when it was the dealer for Letourneau and Demag. My Dad worked for them for 21 years, he specialized in Letourneau on log stackers, when the were a staple of log yards in our forest industry. We moved to Tumbler Ridge for Wajax and the Quintette coal mine when it was brand new. My Dad was running the branch then. I also worked for Kal Tire in the mine, busted those big tires on the L1000. Chance has similar vision and abilities as RG, impressive.

The basics of trickle down economics is that you allow those who are already wealthy to get more money and that money will trickle down to the poor. That has been the U.S. experiment for 40 years, and it is a big flop (unless you are really wealthy). Some money may get to the poor, but it is a tiny trickle. But the rich have gotten extremely more wealthy.
