    Ham radio operator, cleaned many antenna + / - connections.
    Rubbing alcohol and a Q Tip. Dip tip in alco., don’t soak it. Twist into dirty port, repeat with fresh qtips until they come out clean. Let dry (alcohol will evaporate on it’s own).
    Careful getting alcohol on some plastics, can damage.

      Actually it could be the Bluetooth device...try some other BT devices first to see if you get the same results. Cleaning the outside antenna shouldn't have anything to do with your symptoms in this case, but doesn't hurt if for when you just use your regular radio. It's also possible the static is coming from the speaker located inside the door.

      Maybe theirs's a bad found somewhere on the vehicle or the actual radio system could be bad. Try using a scan tool to narrow down the problem.

    What does it mean when you put this thing in a start position and it starts up and it died

    • @FixCarYourself
      @FixCarYourself Год назад +1

      Could be a fuse, a bad antenna, or dirty antenna base, maybe a bad wire, maybe a loose wire behind the radio. Unfortunately lots of possibilities. If possible use a code reader to narrow down the problem.

      Possibly clean the threads of the actual antenna or just replace your antenna completely. Also, its possible the antenna base may have a weak grounding connection.

    My little rubber Antenna from O'reilly's looks just like yours unscrews in 3 places and they all get rusted all the time, I use WD40 W/ a wire brush, it has always worked like B.S. Going back to 1 piece Metal one. My Bad they all look the same I only paid 9 bucks, you get what you pay for. " My Bad "
