With some clarification, Destiny and Gion come to an agreement on the N-Word debate before a surprising topic gets bought up.
Its not a Destiny debate without the N-Word and Incest involved
Dude ur so rhetorically effective that you managed to sell your surprising topic, nice. Who bought it up?
the left likes censorship unless it's a "special" group
so identity politics
Gion cannot be running for office when he debates so terribly.
*brought
"N-word debate sidetracks into incest topic" may be the most destiny title I've ever heard 😂.
Script #24 transposes into Script #14
LOL DIED WHEN I READ UR COMMENT LOL
Classic 😂
Yup lmao
amazin
We've found it: The most Destiny title to ever exist
That was my immediate thought homie
If it gets shit kickers like you to click on the video, ez $$
Beat me to it
The N-cest debate
Something i love about destiny is that his face is totally blank no matter what the topic is. You can never predict what he is going to say.
I am sitting here saying all his responses before he says them... Either that's because it's the logical response or maybe I have watched too much Destiny. Either way, I appreciate the fuck outa this dude.
Sometimes he does emote though, like he'll laugh during/while someone is making a point if he thinks they're dumb.
He would be great at poker.
@@synchronium24 just looked it up, lol.
He is white so
Notice he started eating candy as the man started talking, this is a NOTED destiny tactic.
Once his opponent let their guard down, he shifted part of his attention to his food, major disheartening tactic
He can’t keep getting away with it honestly, disgusting that someone would resort to this.
Also like...seriously “Destiny”? Thats a girls name
This is going too well... How do you feel about college twins?
Twins? Where? COOMER
We LOVE our big hunky college age TWINS! Look at them folks don’t we love them? They’re so BIG! Very handsome!
It's amazing to see destiny evolving as a debator. The growth is impeccable. One example is 11:40 where you can clearly see his evolution of the common pizza tactics.
Fuck you got me, good one
I am so glad with how this debate went and ended. I was watching Destiny's livestream the other day as he was listening to the person in the right corner, and I was hearing how mad the guy on the right corner of the stream was at Destiny. When I heard they were going to be talking, I got worried this would be some kind of screaming match that would not end well. I was then pleasantly surprised that it turns out this was all a misunderstanding, and the two were able to part ways on friendly terms.
Touchy topics but overall a very wholesome and respectful debate. No destiny rage in this one
It helps when both participants are arguing in good faith from their positions, and it's a true debate.
You can see the twinkling in Destiny's eyes. Oh this guy is running for office, let's get him on a stream discussing incest.
Lmao in all seriousness I think they should have been more cognisant about that. Dangerous territory for a candidate.
I don't think I'll ever not notice when Steven eats during debates now...
Ikr, fuck that one guy for making me notice
He opened up the truth. What a weaselly little debater dude, still eating!
Holy s*** amazing how smooth things go when destiny talks to a reasonable person
what's reasonable?
Moderator: I want a nice, clean, and fair debate no trickery or hitting below the belt.
Destiny: 0:50 🍕😂
I don’t get it.
19:15 "As soon as you enter the stream it's like [...] somebody must have said the n-word 3 times"
I lol'd, that was hilarious
Lmfao, the summoning ritual.
This title is basically Destiny's entire social media existence summarised
clicked on your channel looking for spore ambience, found no spore ambience. 1/10
@@missingeye2947 You’re like the 4th person to say this, might as well upload some Spore ambience in my free time
Needs the rape and walkman scenarios too
change ur name bro uve baited me like three times now in these comments smh
@@missingeye2947 Thanks for the heads up!
if the next person to debate destiny is reading this comment, please eat a huge plate of spaghetti while doing so
Could’ve summarised the title more with “Destiny streamed” and nothing else
I love how the whole chat started to celebrate when the other guy said he could use it in private
I can’t describe the sigh of relief I just had, having finished the video. I keep waiting for the one line that gets him canceled for good. Thankfully it hasn’t come yet😌
oddly wholesome video
This was the MOST rhetorically effective I've seen Destiny in a long time.
Man I wish this was longer. The topic of slurs could create some seriously good discussion with a person who has more contention.
Could it though? There is no argument. Either we as a society use no slurs, or we use all slurs and context matters. It's not an interesting debate. But you know... Americans are obsessed with race.
@@JorgeAlbertoJerez you're right there's no argument and honestly anyone that makes one (with all do respect) is probably white and wants to debate the idea of them using racist slurs
The april fools joke is that Destiny's opponent is a reasonable person and the debate doesn't degenerate into moral outrage.
OMG I thought the other guy was gonna bring up the incest for a gotcha but Destiny brought it up himself lmao.
Everything was going to smoothly, Destiny couldn't control it
I can't believe the N word saga continues 3 years later
Look how much better he has gotten about the topic this discussion concluded fast.
i would love to hear another discussion about any other topic with these 2, hopefully much longer!
In my case, I don't use the N-word because it immediately evolves into me speaking ebonics and using black slang to the point where I legit forget that I'm white like I'm reverse uncle Ruckus or some shit. Never again.
Reverse Uncle Ruckus is gold. Wasn't there a teen girl online like that?
This is so strange.
what a wholesome debate! The guy seems chill, really enjoyed this one.
Man, I love that Destiny has stuck to his guns on this because he's right. That's one of my favorite things about him. He reasons out his positions and doesn't back down. Fuckin' love his presence in the modern online political sphere.
still wrong af though
That’s one of his main criticisms too
@@astashasta1 Who?
This never back down thing. That would be a sign of having dogma over an ideology. He does what every intelligent person when hes presented with new data, he changes/rehabilitates/modifies his position.
Secondly he says he has two different takes on the saying the word. He says, people who say the word is objectively detrimental when a person of the out group uses it, then abolish the word. As to those who see saying the word as situationally acceptable, use it. No need to point out the problems inherent in this.
He 100% backpedaled. Feels like he just broadened his stance from "Either no one can say it or everyone can" to "Probably no one should say it in public, but I can't tell people what words to use and uhhhh rappers can say it too".
Next time the Nword comes up just link this video and we can save more time
Nice to see Destiny talking about incest and the n-word in the same 25 minute video. Very heartwarming.
Destiny should've pointed out that he said it was no longer a slur if used colloquially when he made the howdy y'all analogy. Just sayin.
right into my feed
This debate was shockingly civil, productive, and honest.
WHERE IS MY SCREAMING ARGUMENTS AND AD HOMS WTF 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I feel like this is the first time I’ve heard Destiny actually defend himself on the “you said you say the n-word all the time!” Point. This is brought up EVERY time and I feel like it should be pointed out every time. He said that once and it was clearly not some serious statemwnt
This is my favorite debate, wholesome af.
Regarding the eugentics argument isn't the critical difference that when engaging in Incest you are actively increasing the likelyhood of producing childrean with genetic deficiencies. While in the examples destiny was refering to its mostly people with genetic predispositions that dont have any influence on the outcome. The more appropriate example would be our sociatal condemned towards woman who consume Alcohol during pregnancy and therefore actively influencing the wellbeing of their child. Thats where the moral objection lies rather than if we ascribe any worth on childrean with genetic deficiencies.
5 seconds in and I'm already dreading where this will go.
I’m dreading having to listen to this pbs microphone lmao
@Joseph pbs nutz
This wasn’t a debate, it was real communication.
Rhetorically effective = Speed running the most controversial debates
Love it when debates end like “i guess we agree on everything, must have just been a misunderstanding”
I would've loved if Destiny took on the argument of just banning the n-word entirely just for the sake of it, but oh well.
We should just reinstate fighting words for person-to-person (non-online) public situations.
5:10 Pretty sure one of the most popular mediums of art “rap” music uses the word bitch quite liberally. In fact, it’s predominantly used by males. I can tell you this because i just drove home blasting flex 36 by Lil B the Based god.
12 minutes in and I'm sitting here, asking myself: Why did that dude come with a spoon to a knife fight?
Moral dumbfounding is a fascinating phenomenon and you can target whether or not someone has a moral system they refer to when they don’t know what the answer to a question is, but engage with dumbfounded topics at your own peril, because they usually surround pushing back on the most taboo things in our society. People will hate you for doing this XD
that title felt like youtube was recommending me a 2017 destiny video
How a little mistake in "nicest" can lead to disaster outcomes
N-word and Incest debate??? Y'know what I'm here for it
Dam this conversation actually went really well. I hope that guy does well in his run for office!
This debate was waaaaaay to wholesome! Was expecting controversy!!
"I'm a free speech absolutist" - the guy who isn't going to win his 2023 political race lol
now THIS sounds wild
bro youtube 'politics' is the same four conversations on repeat about THESE ARE MY PRINCIPALSSSSSSSS like god damn
Why does a Harvard grad political strategist give a fuuuuuck about a twitch streamers preference for jokes at home or incest
Who is this guy? I can find no record of a Gion Johnson political strategist anywhere
He probably doesn't care about destiny at all, he's here for the same reason a sponsor would be, exposure to an audience.
@longhorns that's because his name is Gion Thomas, not "Gion Johnson."
@@Birdup1776 alright I’m either illiterate or the editor got me thank you lmao
"N-words and Incest". I hope this is the title they choose for Steven's biopic in 2050.
I really appreciate his guy qualifying his comment by saying "I don't speak for everyone in the black comminity".
This "incest debate" wasn't even a debate, it was Steven explaining his views and Gion understanding and moving on. Besides, it was Steven who brought it up in the first place!
DIRTY TACTICS by STEVEN BONELLY
I missed the profanity thing even though the moderator said it twice...
I went back to complain see if I could complain about the rules not being clear... But nope, he says keep it clean and no profanity twice 😆
The first time I rewinded and caught Destiny saying "shit", so you're just deaf
Actually quite enjoyable and refreshing to watch.
an good faith discussion, how rare!
Context & intent SHOULD be very important...
If you’re ignoring both context & intent you should be examining YOUR motivations!!
My 2 favorite topics.

I’ve been waiting for this vid ever since I saw the stream title “debating the N word in private” but i thought it would be more than 25 minutes
*sadge*
*Debate on private use of the N-word*
Opponent: I just don't think you should use it in public
I thought the Allsup and Striker debate was the best possible debate concession speed run but this guy came right out with it lmao hot damn
How n-word still going man it’s insane
Without looking at who posted this or the thumbnail, Just by the title I could tell this is a Destiny video.
I liked this guy, but his argument is riddled with logical inconsistencies. Why is it so hard to just say that all people should probably stop using this terrible word?
2:00 if you look in the chat a user said "what about tactical n-words? *pepe emote*" lol
Seeing this in my recommended put a smile on my face
right in your feeeeeeed
"Ì feel like".... "I feel like".... "I feel like".......
No hate. But seriously, running for office with that kind of language use?
What kind of data are they supposed to cite when discussing a word? Lol
Using the old eating chocolate trick 🤔 nice move Destiny
Clearly this was a racist tactic to show his opponent that he will eat him alive, making him nervous and scared of Destiny
it's actually super simple. either anyone can use any given word regardless of affiliations or no one can use it ever. end of story.
Destiny, using his usual debate tactic: EATING
"free speech absolutist ---> with language there are constraints" did i miss something or is this a paradox? lol.
You can say whatever but facing the consequences is not okay. Some ppl respond to a word differently than others.
This title feels like a summary of every Destiny debate.
That went well.
There are 2 ways to say potato or tomato. Its the same with the N word. Normally pronounced er. Others pronounce it with a. It's the same word.
Damn, I dig this guy. I wish him well with his campaign.
This title is why im subbed.
Take a shot everytime someone says "I feel like".
My man really pulled the schrodinger's slur.
He flipped between n-a being a slur and not being a slur about 19 times
At this rate the n-word will become the new slur.
He's not a free speech absolutist.... lol says he doesn't think people should police what others say, then turns around and lists things he thinks others shouldn't say. So which minority group has recently had scuffles around language that he doesn't want to use? 🤔
11:40 wow brand new debate tactics being brought out by Destiny smh
4:40 to be honest it annoys me when non Southerners use "y'all"

@@zeroazure0 imagine not respecting my lived experience and my truth
@@thereddrob another rad lib bites the dust.
@@thereddrob Yo who actually cares, what does other people saying "y'all" take away from your lived experience?
Dr K uses it
The dude didn't just start screaming and screeching when he heard the word "incest" and Destiny's n-word take? Based.
And he wants to run for office and actually do something to further his views? BASED.
@russian beaches No, he didn't. That was a discussion about a perceived disagreement so naturally they would get a bit louder. That's not screaming.
Try watching more of Destiny's stuff and compare those people's reactions to Destiny's take to this one. It was tame af and the dude actually listened to what was said. Usually people have an incredibly distorted version of Destiny's take and even if he explains it fully they just scream back "You just wanna say the n-word!".
Do you think discrimination is bad in itself? Because we discriminate against people all the time. Think of all the things kids aren't allowed to do, for example. Or the existence of accessible parking lots for disabled people. Saying "it's discrimination" doesn't really cut it. You have to then explain why this case of discrimination is bad.
Destiny's take is probably the one that min-maxes "free speech" (in quotes cuz that's not really what's meant by the term) against racism (hoping I don't have to explain why racism is bad). Using slurs in specific contexts, e.g. as a quote (though not if you just quote stuff to say the word) or a joke without racist intent with a small audience of non-racist people and limiting the amount of damage it can do, is probably ok.
Using them in most other contexts though, it's probably furthering racism (or whatever other group a slur is targeting) and should thus be avoided.
I live in Germany. We don't care about this n-word debate. We pretty much have Destiny's conclusion as our standard. Anyone who uses it is a racist. Period. There's literally no reason to use it for us.
The only exceptions are quotes, song texts etc. that mostly either come from another historical context or the US.
@russian beaches Not really. He was disagreeing bc he heard that Destiny was saying the n-word all the time.
He stopped being upset when Destiny explained that he doesn't really use it that much. Dude even said that singing along to a song when you're alone in the car was ok.
Did you watch the same video, my dude?
I've always been a "Destiny" kinda guy on this. You can not say that an outcasted group of people are not allowed to use slurs while the people that are in said classified group are allowed to. I know several people of several races who feel the same. Now to see how this conversation turns. There may or may not be edits.
EDIT 1: The gentleman brought up someone from the LGBT community calling a woman the word "Bitch"
This isnt something you can conflate with the N-Word. Anyone can call a woman bitch, but its the sexism that defines it, not a class or necessarily a group of men and women, plus, its used so frequently that it doesnt matter, AND bitch can be used in multiple contexts where as the N-Word is typically only used to insult someone, or when african americans refer to each other if they so choose to use that term. A more logical argument would be us calling each other f@g$. With us (Bisexual), its in a class of its own, such as race, and it has men and women who are the very thing described. Straight people calling us that and other people that is very offensive and its really only used as an offensive term. Even in Brittain and Austrailia, they typically dont use the term for cigarette anymore out of confusion. We can call each other that and its kind of the same thing. Bitch isnt really a slur with the different ways you can use it, and the different meanings it has. But f@g, and the N-Word, definitely do.
Destiny? That sounds like the name of the only person who would ever have a video titled “N-word debate sidetracks into incest topic”
The bit where he said
'you wouldn't want your kids using bad words out in public'
Is one of those universal human rules
It's what every parent wants, but kids tend to do whatever they want regardless.
And actually sensible perspective would be wanting your children to ***understand*** and employ language effectively.
And I don't think that's any harder to wrap ones head around.
@@TheWentzMachine that is really good point.
It still doesn't guarantee that they'll act how you want them to, but it's better than just saying 'don't use bad words' without an explanation why.
If you've got kids you'll know that that some are more rebellious than others, if you've not had kids, good luck with parenting if you decide to have them lol
All these women goin around calling each other “booba.” It’s offensive
As a black woman I'd LOVE the opportunity to debate this man on any subject
when he is live hop in the discord and let em know, he’d totally do it
“I’m a free speech absolutist but there are constraints. You can’t tell fire in a crowded room”. Do you know what absolutist means? Apparently not.
“I do see whenever you enter a stream people always bring up the topic. It’s like someone said the n word 3 times or something”
That shit made me laugh lmfao. Destiny is bloody merry of the n word lmao.
I’m gay and I have zero connection to the community of woman. I actually have less connection than a straight man. I just started listening and this is already sad lol
