Josh O'Connor is a brilliant actor. Now having watched this interview, he seems like a very humble kind of giggly man. Like him even more now.

He’s so much more likable and handsome than Prince Charles. It’s almost unfair to cast someone so wonderful, because he makes a generally unsympathetic person into someone almost likable.

Seth played Prince Charles once in snl, with Fred Armisen as Camila, i laugh to that sketch to this day.. 😂

Fred Armisen is the best choice. I hope I can find it on RUclips.

His performance was so good in (2019) 'Hope Gap'...such a small and intimate film with Annette Bening & Bill Nighy.👌🏻

That was a great interview! I never thought about that he is playing an actual person, and he's a professional actor so how does he approach such a task? Really thoughtful answer!
All too often talk show hosts only want to talk about the stars personal lives, but I really want to hear them talk about their work.

What weird faces was the actress playing Diana making in the clip. Princess Di had much subtler expressions.

It was a very peculiar scene in an otherwise great season and performance.

I had the same thought, and went back to watch a few times after hearing complaints on reddit that it made her look like a psychopaths. Now, after a few months watching with fresh eyes, It seemed she was not really that weird, but the way the shaky camera shots that follower her head and zoomed too far in compared to the old film clip was probably main contributor to that feeling of unease. The old film clip looks like a shot from a Modern Family confessional scene of someone fucking up where very little words or camera movement is used to allow the audience to do most of the work for them by projecting onto the silence and unspoken awkwardness and deepen the emotional impact--the guessing of "oh dear what must she be feeling now" is what makes that moment memorable. Whereas here, focusing on the chatacter Diana's tiny facial reactions was...a very different choice that gave a vastly different feeling. It feels like the show predicts and is catering to the audience with the knowledge that, we all wanna see how she would have reacted if the camera at that time had this perfect resolution closing in on her face reacting to her fiance's cold, infamous response that haunts people to this day. In my opinion, that is not great story telling and breaks the boundary between the art itself and fan reception. The character's conviction she is in a real loving and most special relationship contrasted with the let down was played up much more dramatically. In the old clip Diana looked just sort of shy and quiet with her head low and face almost swallowed by her hair. Altogether, I am still not in love with the overall result The end result made it look like she was almost gloating or sneery. I have been in the almost naive position where I project more confidence and invisibility that's all in my head when I was in love, while in private insecurely still paying so much attention to observe responses from the external world to look for validation--which is why in this clip you can see her tilting her head slightly from side to side to check the camera being coy but very much aware of the attention from outside, so I do understand that this is still a kind of probable emotional headspace a young woman would be in that audience could also relate to if put in her shoes --but it is so done up it takes you right out of it, especially because early on in the season the character was largely still portrayed as more innocently naive like most insecure young girls blinded by romance, than cynical and calculating as the use of this camera work typically would invoke.

I feel the Crown version of Diana was too much of a bimbo, which I think the real Diana was not. We have to assume that they are not playing the real Diana.
