Milling Old Walnut Logs for Rift and Quarter Sawn Lumber

  • Being as busy as we are, we rarely get to our projects as quickly as we intend to. When it comes to milling, a consequence of that is that when you cut up partially dried logs for lumber, they tend to bend and bow as soon as they are cut from the log. Here I show you how I'm cutting the boards to try and minimize those effects on the lumber before they get stacked to dry. With any luck they will dry a lot straighter than they would have otherwise!

    Great job. Thx for sharing videos. The one with the wench, rails to upload, and duscussion of mobility was great. You could also use colored epoxy for tables from scraps if you desire to make nice furniture and extra cash. Thanks for sharing and, again, congrats on your baby
