Haha, I swapped out to the Brainwavs xl pads too. The wicked cushion gel pads are also pretty dope, especially if you want some extra clamp force

Can you clarify the setup you were using for evaluation? I’ve found that running these off Bluetooth vs. the provided dongle limited these. I’ve consistently felt like over Bluetooth, these do sound kind of congested, but open up not over Bluetooth.

Great review, I have many headphones. I picked up some Sony H7 as they were on a massive discount. I wasn't expecting much as I haven't heard a decent gaming headset but damn....these Sony's are still on my desk! The imaging is actually really good, I mainly play Apex Legends and this headset in 7.1 actually enhanced the god-awful sound I was receiving. Even my other "audiophile" headphones couldn't do what the H7 was doing in this game. It was even better in CS2 where the audio is so much better than Apex. For a cheap headset I'm keeping and using the H7's for sure.

@@MrAyrit When I'm not using my main headphones and external mic and just want that flexibility to just get up and grab and drink or walk around between matches, the wireless aspect and excellent design of the H7 has been rather practical for me. I'm just using them more on a daily basis than my desktop headphones. You should find them for really cheap your parts!

I researched for over 2 months for the BEST high end gaming headset. I was looking for the best on PS5 and for my brother who plays on Xbox Series X. Everything pointed to the Maxwell as the best for both brands. I was very lucky to find PS version for myself and the Xbox version for my brother. The only difference is the PS version utilizes Sony's Tempest 3D and the Microsoft has a deal with Dolby for Dolby Atmos support.
If these headsets cost $500 each I still would feel I've received incredible value. Maxwell is incredible. The hard part is trying to grab one from their selected authorized dealer. Sony is leaving Audeze independent in which this is great for both PS and Xbox gamers. The new Pulse Elite coming out is a stripped down version of the PS Maxwell. This is a must buy

@@Cyb3rRust It comes with a dongle for each version. Audeze's firmware updates in the future won't work on the Xbox version for PS5. One was designed for the PS5's Tempest Audio and the other for Xbox. You don't want the Xbox version for the PS5. Xbox version comes w/ a Dolby Atmos license. bluetooth uses a very old codec for microphone/input. Where as output/sound is much better low latency hifi quality etc. Using the USB dongle is the best approach for signal, microphone quality (441khz instead of lower 8-16khz bluetooth mic quality) etc.

I have a Cloud Orbit S and a Maxwell, the latter is not better in sound, and more comfortable with the embouchure, but it is much heavier, which reduces comfort, and can get tiring after hours. It has better metal hinges, which was a common problem with hinge breakage in previous models. And much more functionality, such as connecting two devices at the same time. I listen to music on my PC with the usb dongle and then watch RUclips videos on my laptop, it switches the source.
