Looks like a well earned break! I went to the Akumal Bay Beach & Wellness Resort in Akumal back in late May 2021. Went to see Mayan ruins in Tulum, the monkey sanctuary, and visited XCARET in Playa Del Carmen! All for seven days.
Pool is warm or cool depending on time of year and there is a buffet for breakfast next door i don’t know about a buffet for lunch and dinner though but there are four different restaurant
What did you two think of the resort? Was everything included for the all inclusive or did you have to pay extra for certain items and food? Any helpful tips would be appreciated! Staying here for 5 nights in May!!
You will love it! We had the best time! Yes everything was included in the stay- all food & drinks (we tipped all of our servers though). There were premium items on the menu that were extra but the regular food was so good we didn’t bother 😂 also we didn’t end up going to the spa there so I’m not sure if that’s included or an extra cost… we kind of wish we would’ve gone there one day!
There was an “environmental fee” per day we had to pay when we checked out (most hotels have this I think…? similar to “resort fee”) that we didn’t know about beforehand so that was the only other thing… Also book the hotel transportation in advance! We thought it would be cheaper to just get a ride at the airport but they don’t have Uber/Lyft at the airport so we had to get a taxi and it ended up being more expensive then what the hotel offered!
No seaweed on the beach at all! At least at Garza Blanca, where we stayed. They take great care of the property! Not any in the water either.. but we only went in once to do the obstacle course they had out there 😂
Is there night activities on this resort? For example, dance shows etc?

A lot of people are commenting the beach is full of seaweed. What did you think of the beach and water?

Amazing! We got really lucky with the weather on our trip, not a drop of rain and 80 degrees all week 🙌🏼
