U don't need to put toys away. Let children play with toys, let them experiment. Also leave what children made with toys today there, they might want to continue with their project next day.
Don't suppress children by telling them daily to "put toys away". Seriously. Leave them in their playroom do what they want to do.

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
To even be in the book of life You have to saved/born again. And the word says God can take out Your name, which means You are not longer saved. Repent or perish.
Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

While Ms. Elliott is a very good speaker. It is Jesus Christ that writes His words in our hearts. It is Jesus Christ who takes our heart of stone and gives us a heart of flesh. It is Jesus Christ who makes all things new. It is Jesus Christ who sets us free with His truth. She is only repeating the word of God. You can read it for yourselves right in the bible. Please ladies I encourage you all to let the Father teach you. Teach your children all that He says. Teach your grandchildren all that He says. Feast upon His word. In Deuteronomy 6 we read: "... you should listen and be careful to do it..." "These words... shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons (and daughters I'm sure) and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up." "Bind them ... on your hand ... on your forehead." (Sound familiar? Rev. 13:16 Satan is going to copy this with his people) Likewise, everyone in Christ is to be "likeminded" (Sound familiar? Rev. 17:13 we read that "These have one mind .." Satan is also going to copy this with his people). You can learn so much more and see how the bible has a golden thread from Gensis through Revelation. You'll be amazed at how the Old and New Testament work together to tell the great things of God. You can hear Him speaking to you. He warned us that we are to "See to it that no one misleads us." So, the only way you can do that is to dig in and feast upon His words. Let Him take you on a journey so you grow in the knowledge and wisdom of God. God bless you all!

My niece is 4 years old and so incredibly spoiled. It isn't realistic for a 4 year old to always be mature, however my children were well behaved at that age and here is why- Parenting. My sister doesn't do it. She sits them in front of a screen and goes to work (which is virtual for now). She thinks she's a great parent because she buys them things. I noticed that children with the most amazing toys are missing out on LOVE & DICIPLINE. I reminds me of Mary and Colin in The Secret Garden. They had everything except love and discipline yet Martha's mother was so intriguing to them. How can a poor family be so happy? A mother who disciplines and loves her her children, and most importantly is available to her children makes a happy home. Women have left the home for corporate world. This is the problem.

This is very much what is missing in today's society. There has been such a decline from good moral standards and a destroying of the family unit. Sin has eroded and ate away at decency, unity, stability, Man has turned their back on God, the result, a deepening spiritual darkness. If you remove God from a society this is what happens. Dear Lord we pray for a holy revival once again in these days that things would be turned around again for your glory.

Amen, so many parents have lost the art of having authority over their children. I see it so much especially with little kids. Doing whatever they want, most of the kids are either raised by single mothers or parents who do not know the Lord. You see a difference in parents, who train their child to obey the Lord, Parents who are their child's friend, and let them do whatever they want.
I'm not a mother yet, but hopefully soon God has been working on my heart. Right now I'm married to a God fearing man, I'm a homemaker Learning how to be submissive. Which has been very challenging, especially since I didn't see my mother submit to my father, infact it was quit the opposite.
My husband and I want to raise our children the way the Lord intended. We have already discussed parenting and rules we wil have. In a generation, where gentle parenting is popular, yet not effective. Many parents are thinking they have no authority anymore. They have to explain everything to their child. It's so sad too see parents do this. You see how the child dose not respect their parents and they never will. Some parents do gentle parenting because the parenting they grew up with was abuse. There's a difference between abuse and authority over your child.
The roles of the family include:
The Husband Submitting to Christ and loving his wife and children.
The wife being submissive to Christ and her earthly husband.,
The children being obident to Christ and their parents. We can't do this without Christ I strongly believe if you don't have Christ you cannot show your children what's right and wrong. Since you yourself do not know your a sinner. Your not aware that you are not right with God. We need Jesus to love and be godly parents. Without him we can't have peace. So many parents yell and scream at their children and call them horrible names. Most of them don't know Christ I've seen Christian parents act that way too. We need christ every second we ourselves have to be obedient to him too.
I can't wait to be a mother right now I'm in a waiting season. I pray that God would help all the future mothers and mothers. To have a peaceful home to disciple their children and raise them to love the Lord.

This video is very close to my aspirations while raising my daughter during marriage and after divorce. For young parents raising raising little children nowadays, this is wisdom. I had been trained by my mother. Being her oldest daughter, I was up at 5:30. In my on child rearing, I was up at 6:00. Maintaining a clean household has never been a problem for me. Many young mothers are on task daily. Having learned within family, or taking the advice of other more experienced parents, such as we have from this inspiring Mother and grandmother, Mrs. Elliot.

Thank you for this. I didn't grow up in a Christian home, but it was indeed orderly and peaceful to the degree a secular home can be. The Christian part I got from a neighbor who looked after me when my parents went to work. I agree, the position of a mother is holy, and maybe that's why it is under attack. Today, being a mom is extremely hard. The school is teaching dangerous doctrines, children learn from their devices and peers, many are diagnosed with various disorders and disobedient, there is an increasing, uninvited governmental involvement in family life, and godly parenting is quite rare, even looked down upon, as parental authority is regarded as abusive.

She criticises counting to three, for instance, and while I agree with her for typical children, my autistic children NEED a count to three in order to process both my command and what I say the punishment is going to be if they dont stop. They have a harder time both processing language and controlling their emotions, and so counting to three has been a God-send for me especially during melt- downs. I rarely get past two, they obey more and more quickly, but they need both the extra time and the familiarity of the count down to ground them. And I believe she talked about sitting still at church and mealtime, and that is absolutely out of the question for a child with severe sensory processing disorder. But still- the principles apply but as with all things we have to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in the particulars of how we guide our children.

Im not a Christian. I actually dont believe in any higher power. However, I did take some pointers from it and what I didnt like, I wont follow but some of these things are good across all households. Instead of prayer, ill meditate or learn to humble and appreciate what I have. Love my family, teach my kids to be good people and to respect others and their beliefs. It was a good video.

Without an ultimate authority, and a universal truth, everything is a matter of opinion (including caninalism, infanticide, and euthinasia). How will you be the authority in your house, if you are not thr representative of a greater authority? Without God, the parent is simply a person who is more clever at arguing their opinion, which shall surely be challenged by teenagers

This is all wonderful advice and shows an ideal and perfect family. Just remember we are save by grace 100%. Jesus came to earth and lived the perfect life as the sinless son of God. He took all the punishment for all the sins of all men so we wouldn’t have to. We can’t begin to imagine his sufferings. Trust in Jesus. We do good works as a result of our salvation not to earn salvation.

Waiting for Jesus That is all very true, but should not be used an excuse to be lazy and let things fall through the cracks. Having an orderly home is not some impossible task. It takes discipline and follow through. Unfortunately many authors and speakers today use grace as an excuse to have a messy household, pamper themselves, and let their children run amuck. Elisabeth’s commentary is refreshing, biblical, and something we need more of.

I completely agree with you. She isn’t talking about salvation. She’s talking about sanctification. Doing these things won’t save us but it is showing we love God and trust Him. These are the good works that is talked about by Paul. They aren’t saving works, they are fruit of the spirit and bearing fruit. The Holy Spirit is working in us to obey the words He revealed of Jesus. This is what homes are lacking nowadays. But the Lord is faithful and old advices based on biblical scripture as this are treasures to hold on to and pass down. This world typically advises the exact opposite of what the Lord commands and it is no surprise bc the devil wants us to disobey the Lord. This is why so many homes are broken and women are dissatisfied; there is no room for the -isms and agendas of this world in the house that serves the Lord

Girls are nice anyway! What about boys. My daughter has 3 boys . They make a mess and are not cute. This is such a beautiful picture but I feel that it’s an ideal. I wish the girls weren’t so
“ perfect .“ But what a gracious family they are .

Yes, while I appreciate this biblical advise. I think a woman who raised one girl has a different perspective than someone who raised four boys, for example. Elisabeth Elliot only had one daughter.

I raised two boys...one is 18 and one is 16 years old. They are a handful. But I had asked God for boys when I was younger and that's what He gave me. I am 5 and a half months pregnant with a little girl now. My husband and I are older this time around so we are only planning on this one. It's like starting all over again. All the baby clothes and toys are gone so we are buying all new stuff. But I do hope a girl is easier...I don't have the energy I had before lol (I'll I'll 40 when she's born, Lord willing). I asked God for a girl this time and He gave us a girl. I didn't know how to be a lady when my boys were young but I do now and I'm so excited to teach a girl these things.

I must roll my eyes at this sitting still business. My 3 year old doesn't sit still in church and I don't care at all. He Ioves God and church. All of my older kids 6 and up sit nicely in church and they were never "made" to sit still when they were little either.
