In this video we are reviewing my very own Honda Civic Type R GT FK2. These were the first generation of the Turbocharged Type R's and what a job Honda have done......EPIC!

I've had my fk2 from new over 7 years and still love driving it , 405bhp with remap and eventuri air intake,upgraded tyres and brakes it's a beast on the track and it fits my family in for trips out with great MPG ❤ great review
1 of the best cars available. Plenty of power and the handling on these FK2 is amazing.

Handling is insane truly , I went with black GT pack batmobile I once drove it to a party wearing a batman costume and my passenger was flash 😂 , 5.4 secs my fastest 0-60 , 178mph in a family hatchback 😂
@stephenpartridge6021 the black do look like a batmobile 😎 405 for a.FWD is enough and they sure can hit some serious speeds 🔥

I'm just 12 mins into this but really enjoying it, thanks a lot. I have a rather tatty ep3 which I really like, but I also bought an fk2 a little while ago, don't really know the car yet, so interested on getting your take too.

I would love to own one of these, it looks awesome, just a plain mk9 is a nice looking car, I own one, I drove a 1.8 v-tech mk9 recently and I could barely hear the engine was lovely to drive though. I would love to own a type R though, had civics since the 90s Honda all the way.
Hondas are great cars especially the Type R range.....in most cases!
The FK2 really is a great car and Honda did a great job of bringing back that R feel 🔥👌

The wing vents can be opened up for additional cooling, the arch vents do allow a tiny amount of air through.
Had any gearbox / engine probs with this car ? Want to get one but heard about a few with issues
Without having to cut the vents I don't think there is a way to open them.
I know the FK8 had gearbox issues but I've never had any issues with either tge block or box on a FK2.
I honestly highly recommend them 😎

What colour do you have? Standard or modded?
I think Honda like Renault (hyperstrut and previously Ford with revonuckle) use clever front suspension to eliminate/reduce talk steer referred to as dual-axis in addition to LSD.. what will make the FK2 a future classic is its short production run, if you think about it Honda brought back the Type R badge at the end of that generation run, so it was really a experiment to see what worked or not, i.e. built from the top down.. with the introduction of turbo.. FK8 was built from the bottom-up.. The FK2 is much rawer.. and I think will be a rarer car and also was assembled at Swindon.. I'd buy this alone for that reason.. UK built car....
The FK2 is definitely a future classic but this is something that only people who have driven one will understand.
I agree with what you say, the FK2 is a more raw car hence it is abetter driving experience. I'd love to buy a low mileage one to put aside.

Quick question bro, where did you get the wind deflectors from? Looking to get one for mine, but can't find them anywhere
They were other car when bought it, I think they were Team Heko iirc

@@TP-kn4to team heko used to be popular choice when I was driving a type r about 10 years ago. I had this brand of wind deflectors on my fn2 but it wasn’t for the wind it was to stop water coming in when you had the window open about 2cm to clear mist of the inside when it was raining.
Do you know why honda only made so many? Were they not happy with this edition?
Not 100% sure but I'd imagine it was to do with the fact its a completely different car being a Turbo....I stand to be corrected

@@jockw6263 the true Honda fans believe and know the FK2 is the better car for the job as the 8 feels a bit more refined. A great car still, but the 2 is the better one 👌

The only bad thing about this Honda is the price :/
To be fair, for the whole package it's not actually bad. The driver feedback, impressive performance, economy etc is great for the price. They have dropped as with most cars in recent times.

Ain't the vtec is on the bottom end now
I dont think so as they are still DOHC and the VTEC works of the cams. It may come in lower down the rev range however....I stand to be corrected 😁
@@PerformanceLifestylesyeh it’s on the intake side only in these turbo engines and engages early to aid spool and low rpm power as opposed to an explosive top end like the EP3s had
