    Love that crackle and your random lines on the matte side. Your idea to use tiny balls and to mix the resin with mica for them was refreshing to see. You are so original!

    Hello Katherine.
    First, I want to say thanks for all the time and effort you spend ti share your amazing talent.
    I attempted this necklace. It was going so well until I put it in a new small oven I purchased for our lake home. When I put it on the egg poacher it put the clay too close to the top heat and needless to say it began burning it. But only on the black side.
    I took it out of oven and said I would not be defeated. I cut the burned side off. Cut out a whole piece, placed it on bottom. Cut out a half triangle, joined it with Sculpey liquid clay. Baked it in my BIG oven. Then added the small balls. There was a small crack on the black side. So, I added the gold. Not perfect like yours but, useable.
    Thanks again.
    Love your videos.
    Tried to add pics but, unable to.

    I Love this Kathryn, what size was the square cutter you used? I am looking at getting some different coloured leaf and all the ideas I have of this design, thank you so much for sharing your talent 👌💞

    Hi, I know you did this tutorial a while ago but could I ask what sort of wattage your uv lamp is. I’ve had trouble in the past getting my resin to cure properly without it being left sticky 🙈 wonderful tutorial as usual 😘

    I love this it's so elegant, what size is your cutter please! I don't have any square ones so I will have to make a paper template.

    Beautiful! Love your work, thank you so much for sharing your talent! I was surprised you didn’t do anything to make the foil crackle and it crackled in the oven. 🤷🏻‍♀️
    Just made it! Not totally finished but up to the first baking. Mine did not crackle. Is it bc I didn’t dome it? I baked mine flat bc I don’t have anything to dome it. Need to get something. But I took corner of my blade and made my own crackle 😂 it still looks ok, I still like it. Do you think the doming is what made the difference? What did I do wrong?

    • @KathrynHalstead
      @KathrynHalstead  3 года назад

      Maria i did crackle it by rolling over it initially but yes the dome helped spread it out too x

      @@KathrynHalstead ok, I did see you roll it, I thought it was just burnished down. it just look like it didn’t crackled till you took it out of the oven. thanks for clarifying that for me. Maybe next time I need to put more pressure for it to crackle for me. TFS!

    Hello Kathryn! Love your tutorials ❤️ I was surprised you aplied resin with a brush. I would thought it would leave stokes but you say you damp it in acetone. Does that prevent the brush strokes? I always have issues with using resin (I use UV as well) because I don't like thick layers. I am gonna try this method though!

    • @KathrynHalstead
      @KathrynHalstead  4 года назад +1

      It prevents adding bubbles, from the “dry” brush. The strokes just disappear as the resin warms/levels. As long as it’s not to thin, and it’s warmish you will get a fabulous thin layer. Practice on scraps x
