No pinching and poking of the track but actual decisive moves, where all are clearly audible and clearly spot on! Contributing to the sound. Amazing! That’s a rare thing on RUclips.
Luca is an absolute legend. Dynamic EQ into a Colour EQ is something I'm gonna have to try. First person I've ever seen use the Melda stuff. Might have to take a closer look at their plugins too!
I've not used the Acustica stuff before either. The FabFilter stuff is killer. Been using it forever. Really loving the IK Multimedia plugins these days. They sound fantastic.
Thanks for the correction, Clay! Makes waaaay more sense. I didn't see his adjustments on the Diamond having any effect on the spectrograph of the Melda. Haha. Thought I might be going crazy. I'll edit my original post. :)
This was awesome and very informative as well as interesting! I only wished it was like twice as long (but with the same amount of information though). Just so I could actually get a chance to hear the differences and subtleties and digest everything a bit better. I could barely keep up with what was going on, and I'm definitely not a beginner - rather, I'm probably somewhere in the middle between complete beginner and super advanced, so basically average skill level (at least compared to nerds like me who would be watching a video like this lol)...just sayin'......lol. Anyways, thank you for the Pro-Tips my man! These gems are very much appreciated! --Fred
Hey , question for you guys? When using hardware(not plugins) on a master buss, can you use just 1 eq to or do you have to have 2 seperate eq's for the L/R channels? Someone said that you can just use 1 of something on your mixbuss because its 2 channels. For M/S I get why you would need 2 but for just sterio EQ I dont see why you cant use just 1 !
Yes, stereo bus is before the master. This way your master is merely just a touch up of Eq if needed and final clipper & limiter for your last stage of added loudness ( if you’re in the box) or you can add that with your analog gear if you’re using any. Luca uses Bettermaker and it’s an outstanding piece of equipment. You can also use it online at MixAnalog.com
There is no way to create this outside of Logictools.... also I think you are watching this video to early in your life.. maybe come back in two years and than take the good stuff and ignore the marketing :D
Just to share, there is no need for gain compensation when doing 2 Buss tutorials as the whole aim of the game is getting it louder :-) (The Ab gain staged will always sound worse ... but itll also be much quieter, making something loud will always be a compromise of some kind
Thanks Everyone 🙏🏻
luca pretolesi you're the boss !
MY FAVOURITE ENGINEER...MR LUCA PRETOLESI ALWAYS LEARNING FROM YOU WITH LOVE & SUPPORT FROM SOUTH AFRICA THANK YOU. WENTZEL NAIDOO
This was great Luca, Thank you!
do you usually ass stereo on every track or only on the stereo buss ?

Yeah definitely! Melda is a great plugin maker!! Check it out; they have an amazing Free Bundle.

Very good video. This guy is never stingy with the tips, love it
That's a thing you currently don't easily find on RUclips. And very well explained. Thanks!
You can see more from Luca on our "Fly On The Wall" episodes for the ALLIANCE

that color eq is awesome
Luca really knows his stuff!
Ok, so I’m late watching this in 2019 ... but I must say this is excellent. The treatment of that snare was a real nice final touch. Luca is great. 👍🏻
a whole lot and very useful tipps in one video, think i m gonna o re-watch it more than once hehe... thanks Luca, amazing insight as always!
Excellent video
Wow, finally Melda Production getting props! I love some of their plug-ins quite a bit. They're an excellent value for sure.
Yeah, they're pretty cool, I show their plugins to all my students.
This is brilliant! (love the track too)

This was great Luca, Thank you!
Thats fire man, great video thanks
Hi sir, why exanding the "snare portion" and compressing one octave lower? why the octave lower?
brilliant
Some real "professor shit" as Axwell would say! love Luca!
Amazing video!
Anyone know what type of compression he is doing with the lime? is he allowing a slight pump when he says gives movement?
You´re so pro, bro! ( ...seriously, you know your craft. I wish I could be your assistant for a while)

I take it it is the dynamic EQ giving 'movement' to the top end/low end, not the fixed band EQ?
i saw the expansion of the snare with Meldaautodyanmic Eq but dint see any compression in lower octave he talked about

So the stereoBus, is the bus before going into the master bus, but through which everything is routed? Or is it the actual master bus?

how to make your snare not sound like shit with the boss
Why is the audio super quiet?
It's not. It's at mix levels as far as I can tell.
Thx but no gain compensation and too fast for listening properly !
