Paddy is what I, (IMHO) believe Bushcraft is all about,.. That bed is genius.. All you need to carry with you is a spool of cordage (which weighs nothing). ✊

I only use dead trees.. wouldn't recommend cutting down any living trees ..I'm not familiar with Mullingar but if you tidy up when you're done know one will even know you were there 😉
Hallo Choochoo, es ist bestimmt auch in Irland nicht erlaubt lebende Bäume zu fällen, zumal das dann auch kein Bushcraft mehr ist. Paddy hat dir diesbezüglich schon geantwortet. Du kannst zb. einen Förster fragen, oder einen Waldbesitzer, ob sie dir die Erlaubnis geben. Ich hatte von 85-90 für eine kleine Hütte in der Nähe von Kassel grünes Licht vom Forstamt bekommen. Die Bedingung war, das ich nur Totholz verwenden durfte und auch einzelne Grünzweige zum Abdichten und Isolieren war ok. Dafür habe ich im Gegenzug den Wald regelrecht aufgeräumt und einige Obstbäume und heimische Sträucher an geeigneten Stellen angepfanzt. Die Tiere, Insekten und viele weitere Planzen kamen zurück und freuten sich.

@@PaddysBushcraft I use one lamp with a small 40 watt bulb and it lights my entire livingroom up. I have a huge mirror on 2 walls. The lamp and mirrors form a triangle. That one lamp, reflected, does the work of 3. I'm a frugal lass... Heh heh
You need to get yourself some solar lights so you can transfer to your different builds. Maybe some ones that are fairy string lights (built in usb charger too 😜 maybe)

@PaddysBushcraft try to find some hardwood splits if you can so it'll last longer.
