I like it a lot. Mind you I have just watched The Tour That Never Existed, again, and am utterly besotted with Nick Oliveri in a short red dress. Wow, talk about 🧨
I went to their show in Oxford at the Zodiac club circa 2006 (maybe - I forget) and managed to get the inlay of the album I'd brought along signed. But as I was really a QOTSA fan and didn't think I would ever listen to the CD again after the show (which I did enjoy), I just took it back to HMV. I wonder if someone bought it again and noticed it was signed? I'll never know.
I keep comin back to this song on a weekly basis, sòmething about the intro and the vocals that conjure up the shoe stomping neck bobbing gigs that ye really get into!!! Balls out, thumbs up, come back to Dublin mate, your always welcome for a pint or two!! Eagles of DM week after next in Dublin, some sexy dancing rock!!! Let there be chicks!!! Peace love deathmetal!!!
I think of it as a big extended family, the "family" is John Garcia, Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri, Brant Bjork, Alfredo Hernandez, Scott Reeder, Molly Maguire, Dave Catching, Joey Castillo, Mark Lanegan, Natasha Schneider, RIP, Fred Drake, Mario lalli, Dean Ween And all the ppl who have played with Kyuss or Qotsa! Then You take all these guys and follow their career paths in the many many fantastic bands that play from the creation of Sons of Kyuss and sit back and exhale deeply with a smile :)
Some argues Yawning man was the old generator gangsters... even Alain has a past in early 80's red hot chilli peppers... By the way ive just mistaken the moustache drummer with mario lalli lol
@@RafaCoringaProducoes I would agree, I think Yawning Man were the leaders in innovation and influenced many that came after. Pioneers comes to mind, and Alain Johannes has some serious kudos. Eleven is amazing stuff also.
Think bout it.. why would you not follow Nick as well, thats a kick ass tune!!! its got the heavy and the groove!! Why? cause some ppl forget that they can make a choice NOT based on what Josh thinks or does!!! They be called the fans of Desert rock and everything this genre came from and is originating into!! Not just the Qotsa fans!! Desert/Fuzz rock can be heard in Europe from the Baltic states right down to Ireland where I am!! Support a band for the music not the media hype!!!
i think that josh is doing good... but what I think that made qotsa's fame was the fact that was ultimate rock and roll band. you know man, sex, rock, drugs and some of the best minds acting in music....
@jmaer91 According to Homme: "Oliveri was fired from the band by Homme for what was said to be disrespect of the group's fans and excessive partying. In July 2005 however, Homme claimed in a BBC Radio 1 interview that Oliveri was fired when Homme had become convinced that he had been physically abusive to his (Oliveri's) girlfriend", so who knows. Maybe it has nothing to do with QotSA.
i've been reading what u guys wrote..for being dropped like he did, without warning, without a chance, i think nick is doing a great job getting back on his feet. he made a kick ass album and is touring nonstop.ive seen him twice and he's a hell of a guy, not an egotistical fuck like josh. i think josh is a good music writer and talented, but that was bitch move on his part...right on kanulli!
@RMNTNayn Some dudes need no mention!! Its the smaller fish that need a chance at the fry!! Thats why I mention them!! Im about getting the Rock and making it roll muddefuzzer!!! Desert Rock Ireland - finding a groove in the spaces in between!! :)
He doesn't though. QOTSA miss something without Oliveri, but hell, they still make music I listen too. Unlike Oliveri's new incarnation of Mondo. Still like him by himself on acoustic though, that's when he shines.
@karnicericimo You are neglecting the fact that those are the same intro chords just played different, Oliveri's song is much older than the one from baroness so it's only an apperception in no one's disadvantage. Still, both great songs!
Why all the hate? This guy made QOTSA, Hommes is good yes.. but Nick was the backbone. Hommes loss, this guy has extraordinary talent and a great musician. Plus this band isnt QOTSA, is completly different, so you can not compare them. For the record I love both bands.
Not supporting Nick Olivieri acts at all ... but DAMN, his music is INCREDIBLE ! I'm still in a total awe after discovering him on "Songs for the Deaf" !
Nick didn't play on the first album. And the band still has their "Sound", its just different. All of the albums sound completely different from one another, and the last 2 are no exception.
ya know, somewhere deep inside me i believe that this could've made a kickass qotsa song. no offense to mondo generator..but just think of the majik that josh could've done on this song perhaps even Lanegan's vocals.. damn. oh well i still like it.
The split!!!! You know when u break up with a girl and all the shared friends u had suddenly have to choose between the 2 of yee!! Well this is the shiznit - Some ppl who adore Josh in the screaming fan way allied to him & in turn do d bitchy comment route same as an ended relationship. while others will ally to both - Neutrality!! Good way to be, means u can appreciate both.. while others still will recoil and ally to Nick, and only follow the punk end of thing dwarves mondo et al!!
No doubt he had a enormous pull on Kyuss and QOTSA's early stuff. QOTSA continue at pace but you just have to wonder how great they'd be with Nick writing songs. Fuck I miss Kyuss!
Kyuss have left a serious wake of inspiration behind them which still ripples with sweat hair and adrenaline!!! I for one love the whole scene, the naysayers who put nick down for what he supposedly done need to look at other "artists" such as Wacko and Gary children Glitter and before judging so quickly!! Lose the NME/Kerrang attitude which I liken to Hello/OK magazine at this stage. Formulate an opinion based on the music which is what used to count! IN KYUSS WE TRUST!! IN EARTH WE MUST! T
Real desert rock fans support music no matter if there over or underground and popular or not!! The bad comments come from ppl who have been brain washed by mass media about how bad Nick is due to rumours and they should just stick to listening to whats popular!! Go on feed the flames, blah blah blah!! nick hit this person.. blah!! OR you could open your eyes and see Mondo G is pretty good experiment outside of Qotsa!! Im gettin very bored of ppl who put qotsa so high up!!!
Judge D is a suburban noize artist, check out suburbannoizerecords com for more on him. I'd HIGHLY suggest grabing his cd, its killer. (This vid isn't judge D fyi)

@cassidy1674 sorry but albums with Nick are far more convincing. He composed alongside Homme and you can tell. Nick is more than a basist, hes an accomplished musician.
I like everything about this except Nick's voice on some parts....I miss him with the queens....he has a back up voice...not a lead voice....i still luv him though his crazy shirtless antics and the way he looked awesome in "No One Knows"

i think this shows who the primary songwriter has and always will be in queens
I went to their show in Oxford at the Zodiac club circa 2006 (maybe - I forget) and managed to get the inlay of the album I'd brought along signed. cool video, cool band!
it was great seeing nick again last night @ Alex's...he played an awesome set with this new italian drummer with dreads..

This band is fucking awesome live! Nick jumped out in the moshpit with us!
Was that in 2003, per chance?
Typo in the header, fyi. Was this written with Jho in mind? I ❤ ya, Nick Oliveri x
I went on their concert here in Brazil, very crazy, very headbanging, summarizing werent CRAZY
QOTSA is nothing without Nick.
Think bout it.. why would you not follow Nick as well, thats a kick ass tune!!! its got the heavy and the groove!!

you're right man, lullabies and era vulgaris ain't nothing comparing to the first three lp's
i think that josh is doing good... but what I think that made qotsa's fame was the fact that was ultimate rock and roll band. you know man, sex, rock, drugs and some of the best minds acting in music....
Man, Lullabies kicked ass.
He's gonna play on the main album, I don't know in what way, singing or playing an insturment, but he will be on it. Even it's only for 1 song:P
@jmaer91 According to Homme: "Oliveri was fired from the band by Homme for what was said to be disrespect of the group's fans and excessive partying. This IS ROCK
I miss Nick in QOTSA
right on Denver, i agree.. josh is the only member because he's the founder of the group, oh and he's fired everybody else
And the most epic beard award goes too...
I agree. When he and Josh worked together, it was magic, but alone, not so much.
i've been reading what u guys wrote..for being dropped like he did, without warning, without a chance, i think nick is doing a great job getting back on his feet. he made a kick ass album and is touring nonstop.ive seen him twice and he's a hell of a guy, not an egotistical fuck like josh. i think josh is a good music writer and talented, but that was bitch move on his part...right on kanulli!
Sorry, so they are, typo error... A kick ass band!!
hey it's not bad, i'm surprised because I usually wasn't interested much in Nick's vocals..but this song is great!
it was without warning, he didnt let nick finish the tour, or give him a chance to get his side stuff set up
you're right, man. that's sick and i'm brainwashed.
but i can do nothing about it. and the music is awesome. haooo!!
@RMNTNayn
Some dudes need no mention!! Its the smaller fish that need a chance at the fry!!
Thats why I mention them!! Im about getting the Rock and making it roll muddefuzzer!!!
Desert Rock Ireland - finding a groove in the spaces in between!! :)
im startin up a new band as a tribute to nick oleviri
i just love the man
we're gonna start by coverin this
any axe players?

@karnicericimo You are neglecting the fact that those are the same intro chords just played different, Oliveri's song is much older than the one from baroness so it's only an apperception in no one's disadvantage. Still, both great songs!
BAM.
I only recently started to appreciate those last two albums, but even before that I wouldn't have rated this song higher than those albums.
Why all the hate? This guy made QOTSA, Hommes is good yes.. but Nick was the backbone. Hommes loss, this guy has extraordinary talent and a great musician.
Plus this band isnt QOTSA, is completly different, so you can not compare them. For the record I love both bands.
@FractureOfReality lol...i see your point...but you cant have Kyuss withough Garcia.
Ian Taylor is amazing in guitar!
I ilke everything on this video execpted nick's voice..
Not supporting Nick Olivieri acts at all ... but DAMN, his music is INCREDIBLE !
I'm still in a total awe after discovering him on "Songs for the Deaf" !
YEAHHHH!!!!!
Nick didn't play on the first album. And the band still has their "Sound", its just different. All of the albums sound completely different from one another, and the last 2 are no exception.
Nick's photo is on the back cover of Self-titled and his voicemail message when he first joined QOTSA is included on the album.
josh + nick = great
alone: nick > josh
ya know, somewhere deep inside me i believe that this could've made a kickass qotsa song. no offense to mondo generator..but just think of the majik that josh could've done on this song perhaps even Lanegan's vocals.. damn. oh well i still like it.
its good to see another vid. he coulda found a better drummer tho, i think. he doesn't belong..i like the back ground, reminds me of good ol kyuss

that question was for deusarchaic
are you sure you got that greater than sign right?
@jmaer91 It was Josh, Josh carried Nick alot of the time. Nick is fairly talented, but Josh is on another level in my opinion.
dammit, now I have to buy cds of two bands instead of one ;]
this just sounds like metallica to me, just the way the video is and the attitude
I think it sounds more like the Queens of the stone age.
Los Natas re from argentina man!!!i know that cause i´m from argentina!!
@ktmyamaha01 Neil Fallon from Clutch? ;)
Nick back to QOTSA NOW!
This song should be covered by singers Ozuna and Pia Mia.
@jmaer91 well.. he is wearing a shirt... sold out? no way, man
looks like this old kyuss vid from the 90´s cant remember the name of the song right now
Oops, dur, he wasn't in Lullabies.

Sick riffs, vocals by nick not so so.

ya know, i've heard that abusing story before, i think josh was waiting for any excuse to fire him..
He lefte QOTSA for this? D:
@RIPjohnbonham Uh, sorry... but why?
Yeah Millionaire and Six Shooter is what I expected.... its what he does best...
oooo alot of anger in these set of embarrassing comments hmm?
Sexy song. Go nick!
@ralphwiggum14 Lol I know what you mean + listen to " A Horse Called Golgotha - Baroness" Also same kinda intro !
Who cares if he was beating his wife. He's a great musician and i enjoy listening to him. Bring him back to queens of the stone age, QOTSA needs Nick to get the great sound back.
Three sides to every story.
His voice is a bit Hetfield-like, don't you think? Just during the verse though.
@cassidy1674
sorry but albums with Nick are far more convincing. He composed alongside Homme and you can tell. Nick is more than a basist, hes an accomplished musician.
Not bad of Nick, but I miss him in QOTSA and in the stonersongs
I like everything about this except Nick's voice on some parts....I miss him with the queens....he has a back up voice...not a lead voice....i still luv him though his crazy shirtless antics and the way he looked awesome in "No One Knows"

Because he's a great singer, maybe? Dunno, just my 2 cents.
i think it would make the song if he got mark lanegan to sing all the non screaming. it needs a gravelly voice.
now someone needs to tell josh to get off his high horse and try to work things out with nick
"Decector"...lol
CHANGE THE TITLE PLEASE!!! xD
@RIPjohnbonham
Well, I hope that's not true D:
