Very happy that you've decided to do these online lessons. You have my full support.
However here's a couple suggestions for improving the quality of the lessons:
    1. Adding captions to the video for both English and Japanese speakers. I'm sure there are people not only in America but also Japan who'd love to take these classes online.
    2. Perhaps starting with the basics of the art (such as the basics of drawing the sword, how the sword is held, positions of the arms and legs, etc) rather than going straight into a complicated technique like the Chochin-Yaburi.
Hope you the best in this project, ありがとう.

Well it's a battlefield oriented style so you'll find tons of similar techniques found in hema since well.... It's armored dudes against each others, same targets same mechanics and about the same open spaces on an armor!
Their blade can't take hard blocks like our longswords and the physics will be different but it stays close. And the cuts are closer to cavalry saber and shamshir due to the curved blade.
Although Kenjustsu schools from that era will have more in common to the German tradition of fencing than let's say Fiore.

@@narusawa74 Tenshinryu is a battle style? I heard it's a style for peace. Self - defense. That's why it has a lot of non lethal parts. Katsujinken or something like that.

I saw this video 3 times maybe and i kinda got the idea of how to perform this.
The problem is that bokken that i purchased has a wide blade and a wide handle so it might take me some time for my hand to get used to the handle.
But i sure will practice this technique and wait for the next one.

If they use iaito it's rarely a forged steel blade. It's usually a zinc/aluminium alloy which is bad for contact and quite wobly once you know how to do a proper powerful cut.
Tozando makes great iaito and well priced for beginners
      (I owned2) and their affiliates.
To get an I sharp forged katana you will need to buy a sharp one and get it unsharpened unfortunately. Sword Buyers Guide offer a very decent forged katana for below $500 US. Yes its forged in China but they are drastic about their quality and consistency before shipping it to clients, they actually do a review of each piece in USA before dispatching for clients.
I can't figure where that get their nodachi tho..... Only one iaito on Tozando can be made beyond 3shaku length and it costs $1200.....for that price you can get a nice forged steel shinken.
If you guys find out where they get their iaito I'd love to get one.

there is a real conviction in his draw and sword handling. this is the type of swordsmanship that I'd like to learn.
this prototype is good; but in order to make great videos, please hire someone that is fluent in English so that there is no misinterpretation. I assume that you'd like to leave a legacy by doing your utmost duty as last existing grand master fo this fine martial art. it's your duty to pass the knowledge on to the next generations to come so that it will never be lost. Someone like the sports announcer Ayako Kisa would be a great choice for commentary.
