When I saw the horse fall on Jordan, I felt terrified. But when he recovered after his fall, I was surprised. It shocked me that Jordan was lucky to survive. Miracles in the world come true for survivors not to be hurt.
Not just a helmet: An FEI approved plastic helmet that is sold at tack shops. Specifically tack shops that are plastic and secure with a strap. They can help you fit. Don’t forget if you fall off, get a new one.
If a horse starts to rise up, bail. Seriously, just bail. The horse is rearing and can fall on you. Jump off and land on the ground, it’s a lot better than a horse landing on you. And jump off to the side. Also drop the reins immediately, the horses head keeps his balance and weight together, someone yanking on the head will always throw the balance and severely increases the balance of the horse. Also, always ride with a helmet, a FEI riding helmet, plastic helmet with strap and when strap is secured can make your eyebrows wiggle when moved up and down. This has saved my life many times riding.
It’s been 28 years since this happened so Jordan is 34 now. I’m sure he’s married with children and tells them this story. When I saw Jordan get crushed by the horse, I was terrified. This happened on a Saturday.
This is why I hate bits. When a horse spooks, people yank the reins. That makes everything worse. Bits are PAIN devices; horses react to pain with fear. Yanking the reins repeatedly like this causes more trouble. I havent used a bit in over 20 years and I rarely have this issue anymore. A helmet alone will not save you. People, go bitless and learn what to do if a horse spooks. Do not panic and calm the horse the best you can. Screaming and rein-yanking scares the horse even more.
I am a personal care associate ( a home health aide) I was truly amazed that Jordans Mom knew not to move Jordan at all and they immobilized his head and kept telling Jordan to stay still and don't move . God was truly watching over Jordan and his family..It was a true miracle that he was not hurt seriously.
The area that they rode to is, 9 times out of 10, out of the range of cellphone towers, if any are near the vicinity today. Besides, this event occurred in the 1990s, or thereabouts.
Today’s the 30th anniversary of when this happened so Jordan is 36 now. I wonder what he’s up to today. I haven’t been horseback riding in 15 years. This happened 16 days before Labor Day.
@@dtyodeller Not really, there’s actual riding helmets (like the little girl wore), that are made specifically for horse riding and are much more heavy duty and can take a severe beating. Tack stores can sell riders one.
Even though this had a good outcome due to the no brain damage becoming sustained, I don't think it was a good idea to remove the helmet since it was at that point unknown whether fragments of that helmet had become embedded within Jordan's head following the crush and the extent to which they may have been there. That could cause major intracerebral haemorrhage and the process of taking it off could also risk damaging the C-spine leading to paralysis. This is also partly why I never wanted to do horse riding. Anything can spook a horse and the results can be deadly.
People and Kids should always wear a Helmet I Hate wearing a Helmet and I wear my Helmet at all times when I ride my bicycle because I don't want to suffer a Head injury if I were to Fall off
Okay so you love you son Jordan but he got crushed by a horse and you ran behind another horse what does you're not supposed to because horse does not know you're there it could kick you in the paramedics would have another take to the hospital so just remember that just because you see your loved one getting crushed by horse don't get off your horse and run behind another one because the horse doesn't know you're there and it could accidentally kick you that's another way for people to get killed is by getting kicked by another horse
Why must they play stupid horse sounds in the background, they ranched their noses, he wore his helmans mayonaise, make sure to neigh you nose with helmans mayonaise,

And most likely the nearest trauma center was in Denver.
He definitely had guardian angels watching over him and protecting him.
For sure
Definitely.
No doubt about that.
Lesson to learn: a helmet isn’t just for if you fall off a horse, it’s also incase a horse falls on YOU!
Not just a helmet:
An FEI approved plastic helmet that is sold at tack shops. Specifically tack shops that are plastic and secure with a strap. They can help you fit.
Don’t forget if you fall off, get a new one.
The area that they rode to should have been checked for rattlers, which have been known to cause horses to get spooked at times such as this.
And sporting goods stores, too.
I’m sure he thanked those who saved his life.
Possibly.

Yeah, horses can weigh a hundred pounds, and can be dangerous if one falls on top of you
Why didnt the chopper land the first time 😂 the person could just get out stay with the other people.

Jordan oh my gosh oh my goodness 😳 Jordan please come back 😢 😭
One can only wonder.
This also happened on my paternal aunt Nan’s 28th birthday.
And this happened 2 months before my 1st birthday, too!😮
Poor Jordan I think since something was wrong with the horse should have took Jordan off for safety could be prevented but thank God he survived.
Yes indeed.

Nurses training in college obviously.
I still think that removing the helmet at that point wasn't a particularly good idea.
If only they had cell phones back then

Christopher Reeve and Roy Kinnear are two famous people who died from injuries similar to Jordan's.
Bernard Lee came close to it while filming the 007 movie “ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE”.
The horse got up afterwards and was like "it wasn't me" bruh but seriously this is why you always wear a helmet
Yeah, and who knows how much horses weigh!😨 And you should always wear a helmet when riding bicycles, too, not just horses.
What’s the yellow covers for when the helicopter comes and leaves
Why only make the kids wear helmets? They all should've been' wearing them.

At someone has kept a precise record of the timeline in question.
At 4:40 who was the Announcer for the Discovery Health Channel with Promos, Commercials and TV Shows?
As if they thought a foam bycical helmet was going to protect him
Well it did.

I once fell off a 17 hand horse and even with a helmet I swear I blacked out if I hadn't been wearing my helmet I might not be here
Jordan falls off the horse while a horse bangs onto Jordan really too hard and got hurt at 3:09
That wuz scary!
I love ❤️ horses 🐴 but I am scared of horseback riding. I would be afraid to fall off. Just like what happened to Jordan
Holy shit
I saw something very similar on Full House, the last episode, with same kind of accident actually
Michelle fell off the horse she was riding.

Jordan please 🙏 😢 😭 😫 😩
This is why bronc riders should wear the kind of helmets bull riders wear
Which include face masks like with the helmets of catchers and umpires.
Ohh My god 😮
I’m surprised that they didn’t submit the story to Reader’s Digest.

To anyone saying "you don't need a helmet riding a horse or bike" out there you need one. If that boy hadn't worn one he'd be dead or paralyzed

What the heck 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wow
Wow that the boy could have been killled
More like wow that comment
Think that train, 😳 spooked th horse
I believe it was thunder
Just don’t even think about possibly overlooking the possibility of rattlers spooking the horse.
How about possibly a combination of thunder and rattlers?
