yea me too, but i do think the ex's ability is so strong it will still find a way to exist. probably just with pidgeot and 4 candy and a bunch of vessel's
@@gabriel1991only way I can see it living is we get something close to a nerfed Shining Arcana on a Kirlia then just play Blender for the energy discards lmao
i hope we do but i dont think we will. i think the ex is strong enough to find another way to survive tho. not at the same power level but it should be at least playable another way
I've just got back into the TCG after a bit of break and I'm glad to see Gardy is still killing it. That was a deck I played a lot! Looks like I have everything for this list too (except secret box) so I'll have to give it a go!
it looks like sceret box has doubled in price since i got mine im pretty sure but it was only like a dollar when i got it lol. i definitely miss the arcana gardy but the deck still feels just as strong after i got used to the differences
@sixpokemanstcg I played this list tonight at my locals (well, except swapping in unfair stamp for secret box). I'm a bit rusty so I made a few mistakes, but the deck itself functioned really well. Thanks so much for sharing!
ive been liking the 2, i always thought the deck felt a little worse without research and iono is just too important to cut. and im just sick of playing 4 arven all the time lol its kind of boring
Do you find the 2 arven 2 research ratio better than 4 arven? Been trying the secret box build recently(after playing unfair stamp for a while) and I'm finding it pretty solid, but it feels like I can never see the pieces I want without arven guaranteeing the items
@@bw2020 I'd agree... I'm new... been playing for about 2 weeks now but I'm not new to TCG's. I'm playing Henry's list -1 Prof Research and +1 Mew EX (I want to play the card) and I've smashed out about 40 or 50 games with it and I'm about 45ish% win rate but more than half my losses are to misplays that I spot pretty much as soon as I make them.
@@torasin13 that’s why a deck like garde is so fun. It is so complex and full of possible sequences. If you misplay it you are screwed, if you play it well, you can take down almost anything. I hope that the next format will allow for more of this type of play.
@@bw2020 me too. I love this style of deck when playing any tcg... something that rewards good play and punishes bad play but also allows you to develop skills if you're analytical. I'm going to my first live event with my daughter tomorrow (she's playing Palkia/Dusknoir) and I'll be running this but with Mew Ex and Flutter Mane instead of 1 Prof Research and Spiritomb.
@@torasin13 the only thing about Mew is that it becomes a 2 prize liability with the same weakness (dark type) as Gardevoir. I’m sure it will work in some situations and the free retreat is nice. Spiritomb and Klefki are so good at locking up the opponent in the first few turns, allowing you to get ahead. The great thing about Gardevoir is that your attackers are single prize cards, and that’s how you end up winning the prize race.
unfair stamp and hero's cape would probably be the next best. prime catcher is just always a good card in just about any deck and the new headset one that gets two supporters back seems interesting in a deck like gardy but i havent tried it. secret box is definitely the best right now tho. but if i couldnt play secret box i would play hero cape and cut a bravery charm for an artazon or nest ball probably
Tbh I prefer the hero's cape although I guess it's suboptimal. Consistency is never q problem with this deck so I don't really see a need for secret box, but I'll give neutralisation zone a try next, it helps with the matchups I steuggle with most
they have to put a bunch of two prizers into play and as long as gardy has a drifloon setup it doesnt matter if they knock out the ex cause you just dont put another ex into play cause the drifloon is still setup so you should get four prizes for their two. and if the game is too close at the end you just turo up the ex and leave only one prize pokemom. the prize trade is just really good for garde and moon cant really do anything to garde other than try and go faster and hope you dont set up
i like to go first and put klefki active to slow the game down a little bit. but going second is fine too. they probably going to attack with baby moon at the beginning but they should have to put a two prize pokemon in play, so just targeting 3 two prizers and ignoring the baby moon should work. just make sure when you start attacking that your drifloon can take another two prizes the next turn if they KO the ex without having to put another ex into play. and try not to evolve to the ex until you can take 2 prizes that turn
it was going to take me two more turns cause i had the energies stuck on the gardy. but i was going to snipe the raikou for 120 and they would pass cause they had no way to retreat and the next turn i could munki 10 off scream tail to the iron hands to ko it and turo the munki, super rod the dark and get it back and move another 10 off the scream tail to the squawk and ko that then snipe the raikou for 80 to ko it. if the 3 energy werent stuck on the gardy i could've done it a turn sooner if i hit all the right cards
Babe wake up new Gardy video just dropped
I really hope we get something to fill in for the Kirlia engine, this deck is just so smooth and comfy

I am curious to see if something will replace the Kirlias in the next rotation or if this deck will die because of that...
@@gabriel1991 I know…. it will suck if this deck dies. I don’t see how it could go. Kirlia is the heart of the deck.
100% dies unless we get another consistency Kirlia

nice! i made more mistakes last weekend than i care to admit lol. it can be hard to play but feels like any match is winnable
For me Arven is a mandatory 4 copies in this deck. Is a 2 card combo going second and can search more than half of a Gardevoir's deck

Henry Chao’s deck list is the best. It might feel weird at first but once you get used to it, it’s basically perfect.
