method 2 doesn't work. you said that even old deleted messages can be seen but as it shows in the video, even you can't see the deleted messages from the previous day
It works, the issue is that you were expecting it to show the previously deleted messages when the web app wasn’t active, but unfortunately that’s not how this particular extension works. Check 3:13 for instructions on how it works. The extension works when the web app is open and the message is deleted after it has been received 3:30 . I hope that helps, I’ll update the description of this video or even create a new one once there’s a better/newer update. Cheers

It won’t show if the backup happened after the message was deleted. You need to use a backup prior to the deletion
