For some reason Anton Chigurgh's haircut always made him look scarier.
It’s hard for me to recognize Bardem in other roles if he doesn’t have the mushroom haircut😭

The coens proved less is more here. The lack of a music score really enhances these already tense scenes. Also, Anton Chigurgh is one of the greatest villains of all time.

I agree. Great character acting all-around, but Anton was truly spooky, a very believable psychopath.
Wait until they make the horror film they just announced. That's like the ONE genre they haven't explored yet, and I'm so ready for it.
This movie is a classic example from an acting, directing, and sound standpoint of "less is more."

It's like how a lot of people don't realize there's no musical score in the movie until it's pointed out. But it's lack adds to the atmosphere.

That scene with Anton out in the hallway and all you hear is the footsteps is one of the best, most tense scenes I've ever seen in a movie ever!
Yes! People always mention the coin scene, but I love that hotel scene way more! With also the chase scene that follows it
Definitely for me, too. Followed closely by the scene with the rolling pickle jar in The Pianist.
That errands supercut was amazing, especially because those scenes are some of the most gripping moments in the movie.

The Coen Brothers are those sorts of filmmakers who will make you feel bad about what's happening while simultaneously making you want to see more.

A masterpiece
I honestly don't understand why. The whole movie left me wondering. It felt like it had not heads or tails.
Eh sometimes a movie just isnt for some people. Sometimes its also when you watch it. Maybe 5, 10 years later you will love it....or hate it.

I think it's one of the most overrated movies ever made. It's a never-ending cascade of dramatic cliches with cliched characters to match.
This is the best one I've seen in a long time. THANK YOU for the older movies! I'm so over the Marvels and the Star Wars franchise over and over and over and over and over again.
Though eventually they'll do an Honest Trailer ripping Madame Web apart in a few months.
Read the book before the film was made. Thought Anton Chigurh was one of the best characters I had ever read. When I heard they were making the film, I was thinking - "hope whoever they get to do it does it justice".....

NCFOM is the best adapted screenplay ever. The movie is, essentially, the book.

I love you, Screen Junkies... but that gas station coin flip scene is one of my absolute favorites. I could watch it a thousand times more and not get bored.
If the Oscars are either entertaining or boring enough, you should definitely do an Honest Trailer for this year's Golden Raspberry Awards when it comes out. It'll be much funnier than you'd expect it to be.

One of the greatest movies ever made. I like a lot of the other movies the coen brothers have made, but this will likely be their jewel in the crown when all is said and done.

Anton Chigurh is the best movie antagonist ever. Great performance by Javier Bardem. One of my top 10 favorite movies for sure

It's one of the best films I've ever watched. I rewatch once or twice a year the atmosphere and acting is just superb.

No. Not scary in the least. Everyone acts the Coens invented the "coin flip" in movies. It's the most overdone dramatic device known to man.

Anton Chigurgh is easily one of cinema's most unnerving villains. Even if he and Heath Ledger's Jokers are like opposites philosophy-wise.

I think that with this There Will Be Blood, and other greats released in the same year, 2007 was one of the best years for film, along with 2013, 1994, and 1974

I rewatched this the other day because I couldn't remember how it ends, and was reminded for about the fifth time it really doesn't have an ending.
Not only doesn't it have an ending, it has lots of 'after the fact' cuts. It was like watching one of Tarantinos films with the "missing reel" feature. I hated it, ultimately.
