One of the best, most inventive, creative and talented musicians of all time, anywhere. I don’t love everything he’s done but his talent and work ethic are just incredible…
It’s easy to forget that first Gorillaz album had to be created. It’s so good that it seems like they arrived from heaven fully formed into Damon’s lap
Damon siempre fue mi referente y hoy me siento feliz de ver que grabó sus demos con una Fostex de 4 canales, idéntica a una que yo tengo, ahora solo me falta el talento
@@Noahwalter-e7b I know this was obvious, but I meant that he just uses his unedited voice for 2D's vocals. (Also, I made this 2 years ago, and I had a stupid sense of humor back then.)

@@DeeTeaDee LMAO yeah it can be bothering. But personally I tend not to focus on it much. Besides, I love his voice so freaking much to even notice that. It's become part of its appeal I guess haha
I got one of those fostex recorders for my 17th birthday in 1996 and used it for years. Absolutely everything I made on it sounded like completed shit.
This guy sounds like the singer from gorillas but its probably just a coincidence cuz thr gorillaz singer allways has an awefull radio- filter on his voice or.something that sounds like a megaphone
The intro is definitely the start to what would later be "Bill Murray" off D-Sides. Insane that song was in the making nearly 10 years prior to release
This is why I gave up trying to make music. I know nowadays it’s much simpler with computer programs and easily accessible microphones for not much money but look at all this equipment he had even before their first record. How does someone get this kind of shit when they’re just starting up and flat broke?
Garage band has everything you need to make an ep, go to music store and try out instruments, go back and record what sounded cool. It’s all about motivation. This was also post Blur Damon so he had buckets of money, but even here this is a pretty humbling setup by todays standards.
Just to point out, you can get a digital audio workstation for android phones called Caustic. It has loads of synths, drum machine and effects built in, loads of extra sounds you can load, fully 'motorised' mixing desk and motorised other controls that blows any mechanical mixing desk out of the water for versatility, and sequencer of course. it's incredible - people would have given their right arm for something like this years ago. Doesn't really do proper audio (ie, vocals) as such, although it has a vocoder, but just listen to the demo track as to what you can do. And it's only about £3.99 when I last checked. There is no excuse to not at least start working on something. The sophistication at such a ridiculous price is stupefying.
The pivot from Blur to Gorillaz is the most fearless and acrobatic feature that any musician has ever achieved
Please bitch.
Joy Division to New Order.
At first they were hiding identities for a while. Only later the public could know that it was blur's vocalist all along
Check out Beethoven dawg
absolute music succes like Floyd Mayweather in boxing
Pink guy to joji cough cough
0:42 this sound is soo 13. Crazy to think he did all the demos on that thing. Briliant.
You can listen to the whole demo. It’s called Hand Clapper and was (finally) released with 20 years anniversary edition of the debut Gorillaz record.
Damon Albarn's iPad in the late nineties
I love how 24 years later gorillaz is still popular
That’s what happens with good music
They created a timeless sound
Yeah; shame that on the other hand, everything post-phase 3 has been utter rubbish

why do people keep calling things they like underrated? this video literally has hundreds of thousands of views

And has actually been fully released on thier 20th Anniversary limited
And he said barely any demos get left behind

what song is that
Have you not listened to Man research (clapper)?
@@CryingAutumnThere’s a big chance he listened to it, in fact, Man Research (Clapper) is an evolution of Hand Clapper
This is the most serious Damon Albarn i have ever seen in videos
Damon si que cambió mucho entre 1999 y 2003
He has such a distinct sound "Brilliantly crap" as he perfectly puts it
I've loved watching Damon evolve over the years! Such a beautiful human!
1999 😬 Jesus, I'm getting old.
I still consider Gorillas to be " modern ".
That’s because it still is!

It's modern.

Tell me about it,
I had that exact Portastudio in 1999, and did not get anywhere close to this type of production. I want my money back

The first demo was actually the same sample as Bill Murray in D-Sides
Sounds like She´s my collar
I think what that sounds like "Last Livings Souls"
