John you have a great family at your reunions. One day I hope to meet you in person. I have not seen a screwdriver like the red and clear one. I do have a set of buck chisels and wards that are red and clear. You did a nice demonstration on the v blocks. You can increase your shows to a half hour with no commercials. Now that would be great. Thank you
Jess- As you know I am not monetized so I have no say over any ads that RUclips inserts- However I decided to try the premium version a few months ago I think it’s $18 a month and I never see an advertisement ever! Best money spent I promise you! 😃👍
Seeing that David Bradley brought back memories of my childhood back in the 60's. grandfather owned one, I have a photo of myself sitting on it when I was about 5 or 6. I would love to own one.
Another great time at Jacktown. I only wish I had gotten there earlier. After the meet up, Phil and I went counterclockwise around the back and the rain was bad enough that many people covered their tables. We still got a lot (I might need to get a bigger wagon!) and Phil got several items for his "Time Capsule Tuesday" videos. I wasn't enabling him like he says. I merely told him if he didn't buy certain items I would! LOL George
John, I think I’m gonna have to do a family vacation to Jacktown one year. Like I’ve said before there’s nothing in Southern California that even comes close to something like that you’re very fortunate to have all those shows on the East Coast. Don’t ever apologize for going long if people like it, there’s always a stop button. I enjoy all the content.
I love those Toyota pliers. Over the years I've collected random Japanese motorcycle wrenches. I found a some Toyota wrenches to add to the collection. When I got my Toyota Tacoma I got an authentic Toyota tool roll and completed the Toyota tool collection that I carry in my truck. It's a shame that auto manufacturers don't add tool kits to the vehicles any longer. Finding an old Ford wrench I always wonder about it's history.
Hi John, Nice preview of Jacktown. Some cool stuff. Glad your gazebo crowd is growing. Your dog picture got me again. I just can’t help laughing when I see it. Another great video. Best regards, John
Hi John, That carousel horse 🤩 I can only imagine the colours and designs you would paint on that blank canvas 😃 and wouldn’t that be a fantastic piece in the back yard ! Great walk around… you have some fantastic friends out there 👍cheers Rob
Great video and turnout. I wish I could have made it. The powdered hand doap dispenser brought back memories of when I started working at C.E. We had this type of dispenser and big round foot peddle operated sinks. Thanks for your reply John.
John, that was a great time! It was nice meeting you and all the other guys. How lucky were we that the rain held off! There is so much to look at there you can't do it in one day. Next time i will be staying for both days. I'll post my jack town finds video Wednesday.
Hey John, Greetings from England. You never jabber on, your approach and presentation makes me want to view more. Go well my friend. Bob (Weston super Mare, Somerset)
Thanks John!!! Another fun video… I wish the flea markets in California had prices like yours with $1.00 and $2.00 tables. Many sellers have inflated prices and questionable quality. You have reignited my interest in restoring old tools. I’m currently working on an axe that spent the last two days in a vibratory tumbler. I have fashioned a new handle for it and will be installing it soon. Thanks for your videos!! The Old Army Scout…
I couldn't go thanks for bringing the show to me. We have nothing like that in my area. I would have gone crazy there. I thought about driving but I found out it was over 800 miles. Great video.
Great meeting you John at Jacktown. Love your channel. Enjoyed winning the Crunch and Munch…. In fact only 10 minutes into my 1 hour and 15 minutes drive home I devoured the box - good stuff.
Hey !John,j'adore Jack Town une merveilleuse messe pour les outils et d'anciennes machines, ainsi que des nouvelles. Toujours quelques trucs à rapporter et à nettoyer. Et toujours très intéressantes. ❤
Great turnout at Jacktown! Those pole steps bring back memories. We used those as tent stakes for Scouts. We also had a milk crate of bowling pins to pound them in with. I still have a crate if the stakes my dad had. They are great to have around the shop.
Looked like it was a great show with some great deals. Nice to see all of the viewers at the meet up. I'll have to try and make it up there for a show one of these days.
Hi John. What a really great video. Love those tool shows. So many great things. Wish I was there. I could use that little truck. So cute 😮.. have a great day. 👍👍❤. .

Making your own paste wax is easy just melt some beeswax and add mineral oil pour it into a container leave it to cool and solidify. Good part is you can make your paste wax as hard or soft as you want, the softer you want it the more oil you add. I like and remember those powdered soap dispensers, just right for my favorite Borax powdered hand soap, if you've never tried that soap it's fantastic, it cleans the dirtiest dirt and then makes your hands feel nice and soft
As a kid who would climb anywhere, I have started up those lugs but chickened out for fear of getting a ride home in the squad car. Actually that would be the easy part. I think our grade school had those soap dispensers as well as the first factory I worked in. I wonder if bowling alley wax is as good as Johnson's. At $30 a pound it had better be. That said a 1 lb can of Johnson's is like $123 online.
@@ScoutCrafter I would just use powdered soap. My grandmother used Breeze soap for everything including dishes. I think she bought the soap because it had free wash cloths and sometimes hand towels. Borax is used as well. I think you can get Borax hand soap powder. Banner Chemical brand
You have Henry Ford to blame for the Philips screw. Robertson screw as we all know is easily the best was actually used for couple of years in Ford cars and Henry tried to "screw" over Robertson and then adopted the Philips screw.
Zündapp Bella scooter, my grandpa had one. That model was manufactured between 1953 and 1964. 1 cylinder 2-stroke engine. Having either a 147, 174 or 198ccm displacement. First one had a maximum speed of 70kph, the last two ones of 90kph. Requiring between 2.5 and 3.5 liters of gas per 100km. Price back then was between 1500 and 1800 German Mark. 130,000 of them were manufactured. Most of them were the version with the 198ccm engine. That was the way most people here were driving around at that time. Cars were still too expensive for workers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z%C3%BCndapp_Bella
That "Polonium" spark plug was a big deal in its day and actually a great idea. Polonium is a radioactive element and actually part of the spark plug's electrode. Since it is radioactive, it ionizes a path in the cylinder head for the spark to jump. Under compression in an engine, the air fuel mixture is more of an insulator between the electrodes and the polonium gives a better and stronger spark by forming an ionized pathway. I run a science museum in NJ and we have the same spark plug in our periodic table under "uses of polonium". The only drawback is that polonium has a very short half-life so it only works for a few months before it loses it radioactivity and that initial benefit is lost . Don't worry it is surely safe.

you gotta' be reading my mind about the Johnson's Paste Wax! I was just looking for a replacement to use in my shop. I ended up buying Mother's Carnuba wax. But I'd love to hear about equivalent brands.

What a great time at Jacktown! I got there a little before 7. Wish I’d seen those 3/4 drive sockets. I picked up some goodies. I’ll have a show out this week.
I’ve had this watch for decades, I only wear it once a week or so and setting the date is just too much of a hassle for me. Honestly I will never buy an automatic watch with date feature again. 😂
If your videos were one hour long I would think they were too short. An aluminum carousel horse! Come on, who needs furniture in their living room when they could horse it up.
That’s the first thing I asked! Apparently it’s different from that also. There are a bunch of Phillips type improved bits but frankly I think they all are inferior to both Roberts and Torx (my favorite)

Scout - how come your military style watch dont show the correct date ? jus say'n
I’ve had this watch for decades, I only wear it once a week or so and setting the date is just too much of a hassle for me. Honestly I will never buy an automatic watch with date feature again. 😂
Nice Invicta divers watch in coca cola colours.
That watch is over 20 years old! 😃👍
@@ScoutCrafter Great tools for telling the time, what sort of lunatic wouldn't own a divers watch.
If your videos were one hour long I would think they were too short. An aluminum carousel horse! Come on, who needs furniture in their living room when they could horse it up.
Is Reed similar to JIS?
That’s the first thing I asked! Apparently it’s different from that also. There are a bunch of Phillips type improved bits but frankly I think they all are inferior to both Roberts and Torx (my favorite)
