How To Connect A Printer To A Computer With A USB Cable

- In this video, I show you how to connect a printer to a computer with a USB cable. It is a fairly simple process, and I explain the instructions in this video. There are basically 2 cables that you need to worry about when making this type of connection: a power wire, and a USB wire. I also outline the slight visual difference in USB type A and USB type B connectors.

Thank you for this great basic video. My printer dropped from my wi-fi and I have called customer service each for printer and internet without any success. It is suppose to have something to do with the fact that printers drivers have been upgraded to work off of 3 or 4 ghz and my internet only supports 2.4 or 5. This information took a better part of my week (hours) after trying with their help to reconnect to the network. Why they didn't both verify the ghz at the start I don't know - todays customer service! Not always the employees fault either. Anyway I thought I will just hard wire my desktop to my printer for now. I also have a laptop that I hope I can bring beside the printer and plug in when needed. I did find out that I needed a USB A to B cable, so your video was great to confirm this before buying - as you can see I lost some confidence in the information I was receiving. Thanks again and have a great Holiday Season.
man, this guy teaches a lot clearer than my instructor
Even the things you would think would be the easiest thing to do can sometimes be thought of as difficult. Thanks for the easy visual demo as I am sure this clarifies the uncertainty people have (or at least I had), when seeing what the connection actually would look like.
I like the way you teach. it very simple loud and clear.
Thank you. I had forgotten. Been having much difficulty with the wireless thing for years off and on. Now my documentation for the wireless connection disappeared by apparently growing legs and walking away from my computer desk. I just wanted and need!!! a SIMPLE connection from my computer to my expensive Brother wonder laser printer so that I can print documents without the recurring problems whenever the electrical power goes out screwing up my wireless connection.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the easy instructions.
Thanks for keeping it simple
Very helpful thank you so much! I really appreciate your effort to help others 🙏🏾
What about getting them to communicate with each other?

You didn't mention either we have to install the driver or no need. You should also show the screen after plugging in. A no-brainer can tell how to connect the cable things comes after that....
Quick question, is this the best method for the hardline setup or can an ethernet be used to connect the printer to the internet connect? My ethernet cable doesn't fit in my printer so I am trying other ways.
Thanks now I can print hundreds of copies of my face to fuel my narcissism.

Its urgent.. Where has the USB in computer connected?CPU?
Somehow my printer is not working with the cable, it's a canon ts3122 model, do you know why it may not be working? It used to be connected wireless but I I change it to the cable since we change internet providers it was a hassle to do the process all over again, and since I have another printer that words with the cable I thought It was way simpler but this one is not working with the cable
Hey did you ever get your Canon TS3122 printing? My internet's not working and my Brother All-in-One is not printing even though it's connected to my Win 10 desktop using the USB A & B cable. It was saying the printer was 'offline', so I deleted and reinstalled it using the same cable. Now it says 'error' when I try to print. It's a standalone machine and when I troubleshoot, it says I'm not connected to any networks.
@@dcgeorgia6307 for mine I deleted everything and reinstalled the software using the CD / DISC. Its been working now.
Did you try turning off and on your computer? Maybe it was more a glitch in your computer than the printers.
What I would do in your situation is restart the computer, if its not working then just reinstall the software using the CD. Or I think even online you can get them for free in your officials printer brand website.
Or you can also just call technical support and they should be able to guide you through it.
Thank you!!
Nics work
ty
Now is it possible to split the USB type A connector to multiple computers using a usb splitter?
You need a USB hub.
Cn i connect it on my laptop?
Doesn't see printer when I do it...
I like this.👌👌👌
lmfao , this is helpful cause im sitting here four hours tryna connect my printer wirelessly to the pc , and the printer wont print out the WPS Pin number , so annoying , so imma just us the B cable instead . hope it worksssssssssss

You sound like saul from better call saul
Thanks. The USB cable was attached to the CPU?
The Apostate do you know what a cpu is ?
KatouMiwa LOLOL
If they were already connected through network, right click on the printer -> printer properties-> ports-> choose USB->click apply then OK
Oh man. Is there also an audience for "how to change a light bulb"?
Maybe "How to basic" channel would have your answer.
@@revialle5434 Thanks for the headsup. Cracked up on how to roast a chicken.

Don’t be cocky. It’s unbecoming.
Do you need a telephone to use your printer
