For a 77-year-old former very hesitant flip-phone user, he isn't doing too bad with the learning curve so far...the key was downloading an app that really got him invested in using the phone more, which in his case was a Blackjack app lol 😂

This was so sweet 💙I switched my mom to iOS and then got her Apple Watch for her health too,so I can monitor it easier, and in fact when she had arrhythmia issues ,the watch helped and even showed the same results later ,same as the doctors got from the tests done by MRI and such professional machines. We can't help but worry when our parents start to get older,but it's nice when a piece of tech can ease our minds just a little bit ,and potentially save lives. Your dad is great! I wish you Travis and your whole family, health and many great moments together and happiness! ✌💙

Ok bro, this is my second comment but I had to do it, because of the overwhelming range of emotions watching this and thinking about my mom. This, THIS is why I get so aggravated about people’s comments about Apple’s “limited features” when sometimes the most basics ones are the most important to a lot of people. My 66 year old mom was diagnosed with early onset dementia and recently is now confirmed to have progressed to the Alzheimer’s level. She’s been living alone until this summer when that will change. But she has an iPhone and so does every member of my family, all 10+ plus of us who care for her so much. Because she has wandered off before from her home and forgot where she lives, having all of us using Find My to see her location and FaceTime have meant the world to us because she will NEVER leave her phone behind. And because it’s an easy thing to operate, she can communicate with us without having to figure out this menu, or that menu etc. And even being able to see her screen from my phone to help her check an email, a text…I wish more people got it. The Apple Watch is the next move because she also has had a fall and I feel that walkie-talkie feature would be clutch too in our situation. I only live a few minutes away but run a business. Sisters live out of town. Kids in school. These features mean more to us than S-Pens and 4k displays. Bruh me and your pops both cried from this gesture and there’s nothing wrong with it at all 🥲 God bless you man. Hope he enjoys it and welcome Pops to the Apple gang! 🤙🏽
I absolutely LOVE this video. I really do. I’m really close to my dad. So close that I donated half of my liver to him almost 20 years ago. My family actually had a similar situation in that my wife, mom, sister, and niece all have iPhones and my dad had some old LG android phone. I finally got him an iPhone 11 last year and it’s been great. So this video hit me extremely close to home. Your dad seems like a very nice man and you look just like him. I LOVE this video! I converted my mama and papa a few years back from flip phones. My Mama wasn’t having any of it, until she found a crossword app and it became a huge hit. My dad already liked it for RUclips. They are similar age to your dad and love it & can work FaceTime pretty fair nowadays 💛
This really hits close to home with me. I wanted to do the same thing for my dad but with my limited finances and my dad not wanting to switch from his Android I never got to make the switch. I'm sure it would have helped with his health situation over his last couple of years with us. I regret not doing it because I know we could've avoided some of the situations that came up along the way. I know it could have helped us look after him better. Good on you Travis for taking that step to help look after your dad's health.

I gave my mom her first iPhone in 2014 was my older iPhone 5 when I upgraded to the 6+ that year then moved her to my iPhone 6P when I got the newer iPhone and a year or two later I gave her my Apple Watch S0 and then S2 and now she’s on the S4 and even bought her self a new iPhone XR in 2018 when it came Out and now loves it so much more then she ever thought she would cause in 2014 I have to force her to use the iPhone 5 and she only has 250 text no calling and then 500 text and then 1000 then 10000 now she’s on unlimited texting and calling she uses it so much
a. you're a good son. b. this video really spoke to me as I had my mother pass away in October and then my only brother 3 months later in January leaving my father all alone. I live over 130 miles from him. He is older farmer and not tech savvy. Mom had an old flip phone but it was hard for my father to operate and hear. Got him an Iphone SE cause he has some familiarty with home button with ipad. there were many accessibility features that we could set up. like it automatically going to speaker and such. also so I can track him if needed. We actually had a laugh recently that I had talked to him more on his iphone that the house phone

Great video! Me and my brother recently got our mom a new iPhone 11. She had an old iPhone 6Plus but the battery was so bad it only lasted a couple of hours. Now she feels more confident going for a walk with her walker (she namned it Texas Ranger btw haha) knowing she can call for help should anything happen.

Great video! Me and my brother recently got our mom a new iPhone 11. She had an old iPhone 6Plus but the battery was so bad it only lasted a couple of hours. Now she feels more confident going for a walk with her walker (she namned it Texas Ranger btw haha) knowing she can call for help should anything happen.

This is a really good idea, Travis. My dad is up there in age too and uses an iPhone already. Problem is, I don't think I could get him to charge the thing every night and actually wear it every day.
That was my concern as well actually
