- Michelle Dee is ready to take on the universe.
The 28-year-old stunner from Makati was crowned Miss Universe Philippines last Saturday besting 37 other candidates during the coronation night.
This is the third time she was crowned in a national pageant.
In 2019, she took home the Miss World Philippines title Then last year, she was named Miss Universe Philippines-Tourism.
Also competing in international pageants this year are Miss Supranational Philippines Pauline Amelinckx from Bohol and Miss Charm Philippines Krishnah Gravidez from Baguio.
Meanwhile, Christine Opiaza of Zambales was named first runner-up and Pampanga's Angelique Manto is second runner-up.

I wish they had a questions also why the Philippines should allow divorce since there's alot of abusive partner and we suffer misserble life we are poor woman we can't have our freedom,annulment its expensive and long stress process,.as a miss universe they are presenting the voice of a woman, so we need their help to reach our voice in the Government to open up their mind..because we feel a prisoner we are in the democratic country but as a poor woman we don't have freedom...

Baguio is pinay beauty talaga at knowing it is her first time to enter pageant napataob nya ibang veterans at nakipagsabayan kay Makati at Bohol that tells her marami pa sya maibubuga sa international pageants. Sa mga nagsasabi mahina comms nya, hindi naman pra sken kaya nga nakaadvance sya at nakasungkit ng korona. Mahina lang boses nya at delivery needs improvement pero nagsasabi mahina sya sa comms, ewan ko sa inyo. Congrats to all top 5! Kht magpalit palit sila ng positions lahat may maibubuga sa pageants.

All the Top 5 ladies were witty, articulate and spontaneous. We can't help but notice the amount of time they spent on communication skills training. But what made Michelle Dee unique and stood out from the rest is how clear she is commnunicating her vision. When she speaks, it's targeted to the right audience. By audience, I don't mean just the crowd, but the real stakeholder of the Miss Universe Philippines pageant - the organization.
After all, beauty pageant nowadays is no longer a romanticized fairy tale or a princess story as it was in the 70s, 80s or 90s. Beauty pageants nowadays has evolved into a reality show like that of The Apprentice. It's a televised corporate headhunt for the most beautiful woman who's interest and vision is aligned with that of the organization.
So ladies, before you answer the final question, don't just speak to the crowd, speak to your audience - coz Michelle Marquez Dee just did.

Well said, and honestly because of that I can see her winning miss universe. I'm not even a Filipino but I won't be mad if Michelle wins. She captured my heart with her story. She brings a lot to the table. I can see a lot of people swallowing their words after miss universe 2023 finale. If you truly understand the miss universe vision you can't help but laugh at the hate they throw at her because they're ignorant. Michelle Dee is truly aligned with the miss universe organization's requirements and I believe she will put up a fight for her country. She's well aware that she needs to train her walk if she wants to win miss universe, i just realized after every competition she reflects on her performance and recognize her weaknesses.

I only watched few clips of Miss Universe Philippines contestants before. I rooted for Krishna and Pauline when they were introduced. After watching the pageant and this interview, I get to know Michelle and for me SHE TRULY DESERVES THE CROWN. Just the way she delivers herself: very down to earth, elegant, smart, and confident. Her character is not too much or too plain, just so balance and calm. No pressure but I think she can bring home the crown of Miss Universe.
And I think doing her interviews alongside side her top 5 sisters truly showcases her uniqueness among the rest.
I love Michelle so much for having a Filipina look She's so smart and really deserved to be Miss Universe Philippines. And to be our representative for MISS UNIVERSE 2023. I know she would bring the Crown for our country, the Philippines. God bless Michelle.🙏❤️

And after hearing all the answers, she delivers hers differently than the usual beauty queens do. When I began watching Binibining Pilipinas in the 1980s till MUP 2023, this top 5 group has been the finest when it comes to the Q and A segment. All of them are intelligent and beautiful, but Michelle Dee stood out among the group for her superior cerebral responses, which helped her take the prize. She is intelligent and has mulatta skin, which would help her stand out in the upcoming Miss Universe competition in South America among the Latina beauties. Also, her beauty is very beautifully unique and not dull and monotonous.
