    How big is this race track??

    • @JacobsGarage
      @JacobsGarage  2 года назад

      It’s a 1/4 mile oval… front and back stretch are the same, I believe it may be the camera angle making the perception look different

    hmm not too much banking there is there, but the scenery looks quaint with all the trees and some heated local racing, I am sarry I dont know anyone here I follow historical openwheel racing much more then stock cars, but looks like it would be really pretty to come down during the late summer and fall with all the trees from my neck of the woods up by fort wayne.

      Low banking indeed but, they do take care of the track every week… so not too much wear on the vehicles as far as the track itself

      @@JacobsGarage yea looks tended to, not too dusty, at 30 minutes in, now there are some tracks out there the over water them sometimes or you get it too tacky and heavy then the crowd ends up eating it like I did three times at circle city but I sat in the front row, or it gets too dry and you end up like eldora or terre haute in the one video and you get a dustbath after two laps and cant see any of the race,
      but I still like dirt, its the surface God gave us to race on, and the constant changing surface with every lap makes it more of a challange for the drivers and I like when they do a slide job where they can actually slide and it looks cool as it slings dirt on the wall, the little kid in me thinks, but all we had at the time I started going the first times in the mid 90's was pavement, so when we got to go to eldora the first time of three it was an experiance, and going to circle city last may 20th for the maiden event it smelled like a fresh tilled garden but boy was the track lumpy that night, you could just hear the stones landing on the metal bleachers, but it had never been ran on before cept a practice they held, and the finish of the a main where sunshine tyler courtney won by a nose did not disappoint that night, I mean hes from indy and raised in indiana a track in indy is practicaly home turf for him, and he was the one that won what was supposed to be the last hoosier hundred but they had one more as they surface change of the track did not start yet so larson won that one and we were three weeks away from having one last one for the record books but they started the limestoning, I cant tell you how mad I was, the state fair could not wait just three weeks to start just three weeks? the track where soo many legends drove, the place that barny oldfield hit 60 mph in a race car the first time first sub minute mile, eh sarry the tangent, tyler would have closed one chapter and opened a new one with his first win first feature race win ever when circle city opened that night, and it was tony stewarts 50th how do you top that stack of a night, first event at a new track in the heart of the racing capital and on the night of one of a ledgendary drivers birthday, saddly he did not have time to make an apperance but it would have been icing on the cake he did raffle off a bunch of his memorabillia though for charity, but yea they keep this one in much better shape then circle city surface wise.
      so heres to the 2022 racing season salute as they say at huber winnery and distillery nearby, dad told me there is ahuge bluegrass festival there though he went to years ago.

    Ya know if this track has a spot for camper parking?

    • @JacobsGarage
      @JacobsGarage  2 года назад +1

      Great question! I know this track is at the county fairgrounds and I’ve seen a few campers on the grounds. I’m not sure if there are electrical pedestals for hookups though

      @@JacobsGarage I went to the track for a monster truck show in 2020. Plenty of space out there, i messaged them and they said its all primitive. But they never responded if overnight stay is allowed.
