If we rate based on current individual performances in the mid lane Chovy > Faker and it's not close. And if you look at LCK performance (which is a way better gauge than worlds) GenG > T1 by far.

Macro knowledge, presence on a pressure stage (ur playing with a bigger fan base, more pressure) and ability to gel with others (rmr that year faker subbed out bc his teammate was a better azir and azir was meta) All these things contribute to rating of a player. I agree chovy is more individually talented but faker is the ultimate goat teammate. I think a better analgy might be Ronaldo vs Messi.
