Warning! I have unpacked g3xn yesterday. I donť know if anyone has played with that piece before me or if it was at a default setting or if I may have turned a wrong button around. But with my amp volume set to only 1 or maybe lower (very low volume), this thing made it so loud it got my ear injured when switching on the patch. It is good to find the level/master volume before switching on any of the patches and turn it down for the beginning. It can be dangerously powerfull device and the default volumes of the overdrives are unballanced. One is silent and second one may kill you. I don't want to imagine having the amp's volume set a millimeter higher or having the headphones on, it was a big unpleasant surprise.
@@BBWalkerTV I have found out later, it is not such a high volume through the headphones, but in connection with the amp it is good to go from the bottom. But a good lesson, I am very aware when working with the level gain, master and volume knobs now not wanting to hurt anyone else. Anyway the analog stompboxes win the game for me.
Saludos
Thanks for explanation. I'd like to know how to download the ready patches into this Zoom. Do I need to download any software first? I'll move now to your other video. Thanks.
I just bought a boss katana amp. Plugged in and literally I got the chills (compering to previous very low end amp). The thing is , when I plugged my zoom g3 only to use the looper, the sound quality dropped dramatically. Even when I use no effect. Is it real? I do smth wrong?
I tried to gig with at church and the sound guy complained about it being too quiet... but master volume was at 82 i thought it was enough.... so do i need to buy a powered di box to convert from 1/4" to XLR AND To boot my signal
Thanks for the feedback. I have noticed that 100 master volume signal (in G3Xn) connected to line-in on Scarlet Audio Interface gives about "half" of possible (safe) signal power (far away from 0 db and clipping) I need always to gain it DAW. It is not always bad - thank to that you connect "clean" output from G3Xn to another instrumental intput - In my case I was experimenting with Marshall CODE (connected in chains) The max volume master in G3XN is 120
If you press save on empty slot then you can select other Slot to save - it is great feature for making Copy. Normally by default you need only to rename the name "Empty" using knobs letter-by-letter because if you have the Auto-save enabled (it is enabled by default) your patch will be automatically saved - as soon as you leave editing mode. Well. Is should be enabled only if you use a pedal-depended effect in your chain patch. Are you sure that it is on on every patch? If you add volume pedal to patch it will be on but I am sure that they are factory patches without pedal effects and LED should be disabled.
is it possible to connect to a DAW using usb?im asking cus ive tried connecting my guitar using the usb to my DAW but its not working? any ideas or suggestions??? p.s. i wanna record my guitar.
Good question. Unfortunately usb recording is not possible in this device. You can use it for patch edit but no audio interface is a available. You need external audio interface or connect it to line in in your pc. If you have a problem with this just let me know. Regards

Hello good day, I just ask a question if the save patch 75 we can transfer to other patch no., so that the patch I like is in-a-row , for easily I can transfer , thank you for the reply.
hi bb walker I have more questions im waiting for mine to arrive so im excited.so simly stomboxes are effects pedals correct so how many stombox/pedals are built in to the zoom?
Sure they are - you just create a patch with only 1 stombox and IMHO it is great way to start - using super - fancy dynamic corrections and more are good for further experiments and development. At the beginning you should get know your gear and how to works with guitar (each guitar has different characteristics) so it is great to start with simple things - to "catch" the feeling of each effect. Regards
Actually many effects that you can find in this device and put in a patch could be a strompbox. there are different categories like distortion, reverb's, Dynamics depending on the purpose of the effect. so there is no one list. They are distributed. You need to browse throu categories. I will create the video about this please be patient
Do u think it is possible to use stomp box mode using eg a comp, a distortion and a delay but in the background I setup an amp simulator? I mean I have prompt access to my 3 selected effecs and if I need, with a fast fiddling I also can adjust the amp simulator?
Honestly I don't know. I play always with simple boxes. I think the fastest way to achieve your goal is to made 2 separate patches one with 3 boxes and second with amp sim and save them near each other
If you enter the patch details during the play you can enable or disable several effects boxes using foot switch, but they must me added to the patch first.
You mean to automatically disable second and third effect when first is enabled in the chain ? - there is no such feature. My workaround - create 2 patches with desired configuration and save them next to each other - switch patches during the play instead "editing" patch elements in real time. You have the copy patch option - it is nice to use when patches are similar to each other.

Unfortulanety not. Pedal could be used only for several effects (when Expression pedal LED dot in on) - and we can not choose with parameter is affected by the pedal. there is no possibility to assign pedal to selected patch setting - this would be a great option. I mostly use volume pedal in chain to "partially- not direct" affecting the next effect in chain
number 3 or 5 show how many "physical windows" patches you see - 5 is wider, 3 is shorter , N stands for new line (more effects etc) So basically G3Xn is shorter version but newer model line, G5 is more easy to operate during play (5 swithces allows you to make less "Scrolling") on the other sie G3Xn is more compact.
This switch switches from overall preset to individual effects. So you know you have a bunch of sounds in memory mode so say you have an amp, drive, reverb and pedal all on. Switching to the stomp allows you to see these pedals individually and take them off and tweak them
