Why is everyone so bent out of shape with this incident? White men beat their wives the day Khabib mopped the floor with Conor Mcgregor .... They did it again when Islam beat Oliviera. It is going to happen again after volk. Have to take that beta male aggression on somebody. Right?
@Chris Dern espn can do what they choose but he built the ufc. No real way go punish him when it comes to UFC. and Disney isn't dumb enough to hurt their relationship with him. A nice 5million dollar fine and everyone can leave him be
Nothing to respect here apart from him facing the press. Dana is a fucking idiot. He made it a bigger deal than it was. She deserved it. He hit his wife, because that dumbass hit him first. Nothing to apologise for. It's instinctive human reaction to him being humiliated and physically hurt. She had it coming. Don't lay your hands on someone else and you won't get hands laid on you. There's noooo way that was the first time. With BOTH of them!! I've been through this and they were both extremely comfortable for their "first" time, Especially in public. They should have asked him if it was HER first time. That's were they would have caught him slipping!!!

@Aly Baly Yea she did, and then Dana hit her how many times? You think one slap means he can just tee off and hit her over and over when he is the much bigger man? This isn't a reasonable defense. If he hit her one time you might have an argument. This is indefensible behavior especially for a 50 year old man. Dana has literally said in the past that the only thing you don't come back from is hitting a woman.
@Chris Dern why should he be punished? She hit him first. Apparently we as a society dont treat women as equals, so dana, being the feminist he is, treated his wife as he would any man, and slapped back.

Everyone has their opinions about the incident but as far as the way he's handling it after the fact. He's got more balls than 90% of the men out there do accepting total responsibility not making excuses that's how it's done.
This sounds like a comment from a UFC intern. What possible excuse does he even have? His only option is to take all the blame, he is doing the bare minimum.
@chrisdern8724 good thing you know what's good for a billion dollar company more than Dana the one who actually runs a billion dollar company smh dumb comment bro
I'm totally against using alcohol as an excuse for actions, like many are doing.. but to care about what his kids think (this really is most important) my parents didn't even think about how it affected me when they got in to it. All these losers think it matters what they think. No, it doesn't. You people, the public, don't matter at all. You're getting in to other people's business when you should be working on your own. Check the last time you owned up to something you did wrong. Dana is that much better of a person because I know the average person wouldn't do that.
Sarcastically I like how Dana is deciding what his punishment and consequences are. In what part of society does one get to pick and choose what his consequences are? Living with your mistakes is default. A thief has to live with his mistake, but a thief also gets time in jail, and has to pay fines.
Finally saw the video. From how everyone was talking about it, you would've thought it was a Haymaker. Wasn't even bad at all and she slapped him 1st. Let them deal it out.
That's how you do case by case basis. This isn't remotely the same as say a .. ray Rice elevator moment. We will handle both these situations so ridiculously different.
Yes, I don't understand this ideology... So by being a women you can slap and initiate physical assault, on any man but he cannot retaliate ever, is this a special right because only women are 1st class citizens? Somebody explain this to me?

To me it looked like Dana was saying: cmon honey please dont go while grabbing her arm. And then his wife overreacted with a slap. And then Dana overreacted by slapping back. Nobody knows what they said against each other. Shit happens.
@@raquelpk2 He held her because he knew she would get physical. As soon as he dropped his hands, she nailed him. Obviously, he grabbed her because of past history, she has a violent temper.
When people report this story they forget to mention that she slapped him first very hard. He responded with a pretty light smack. It was obvious that he held back big time on the return slap trying not to really hurt her. People can say what they want but it's very hard to know how you'll respond right after someone smacks you very hard in the face. You are startled and immediate reaction is probably to respond.
What I don’t understand is, men are taught to never hit a woman first. And to just never hit a woman, period. But how is the same not said about woman. Why are they excused to lose control but a man isn’t. They’re adults too. Even Dana’s mother said his wife punched him a black eye during their honeymoon. Of course this is why women get delusional. They can hit you all they want. But the moment a man hits you. You get lynched by the world.
Well, this is what happens when you have a believe all women culture infantalizing and eschewing accountability from adult women. Forget that she slapped him, she disrespected him and he has to go on a public apology tour on her behalf
Double standards. The thing that pisses me off is do women want equal rights? If they do they should accept equal responsibilities. If they don’t want to be responsible then they should not have equal rights. You don’t get to have best of both worlds because then it would not be “equal”.
Dana White slaps his wife back. There fixed it. If you agree with traditional genders and gender roles then this is unacceptable. However if you do not, then this was tit for tat. You should say he is defending him self, that is if you do not believe in gender roles.
@@babynugget706 Modern women want to be superior to men, and non accountable at most. You are right, men and women arent equal. Especially when frickens law is impartial. The humour atleast toned this down.
This incident is bigger than Dana himself. It demonstrates that when it comes to abuse, we (as a society) have a double standard. No one should get a pass on striking anyone without consent. (Period)
I believe you're comment is the most practical and accurate. Once this occurs the only thing you can do is never let it occur again and apologize for your actions. He has apologized although he could use the word domestic violence and or abuse he says this kind of thing happens but he just can't get himself to say those other words. Nonetheless it was retaliatory and actually in this kind of situation even in the United States they probably wouldn't charge him because he reacted to getting hit. He didn't need to slap her twice though and that is something he should react to as a public figure especially of a fighting organization. Nonetheless there's nothing else he can do about it but never let it happen again. He has apologized and he doesn't need to continue doing that over and over again.

If I were Dana I would quote two people: 1-"for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction" 2-" I’d like to take this chance to apologize to absolutely nobody"
Amen. Great statement. Good man driven to a bad action, and he understands it. If he wasn't such a public figure it wouldn't be so public. He acknowledged he's wrong, it's really not our business, it's their private business, not ours. Healing energy toward the family.

I can feel Dana's pain on this. I would never or will never hit a woman sober. But in my late 20s I was in a toxic relationship where a female I was with hit me and attacked me multiple times and we were both drunk. It built up to a point where I finally reacted after I had taken enough and blacked one of her eyes . Sometimes shit happens and you just have to never do it again. It sucks cause you know you would never do that in your right mind and it's almost impossible to figure out why you have done it afterwards. The only thing you can figure out is that Alcohol was the key factor. I know I'm personally not someone to hit women but if people want to call me that because of what happened once while inebriated then so be it, I deserve that. Alcohol is a common drug that can be great in moderation but it can lead anyone to do really stupid shit while on it. I would rather shrooms or marijuana be a legal drug than Alcohol. It leads to way more crimes accidents and death than most drugs.

I have no reason to defend Dana, but I will never stop defending the position that if you put your hands on someone first you should expect hands to be put on your right after. It's not about him at all, it's my own decision to think and say that his wife has anger issues and she needs to get that in check, he never should have been put in the position to have to think about what he will do when the mother of his children puts her hands on him.

He’s always been short tempered and has given few second chances to many people but after making a huge mistake yourself I think you Dana should learn to forgive others for mistakes and give second chances when needed!

Obviously to make this more complex, he 100% NEEDS to say what he is saying, both to keep his wife happy so she doesn't try to take half of his money, but also to move forward from this as fast as possible.
So to be clear Dana, we were never defending you, we were defending an idea that we will still defend despite what you said here. Never put your hands on someone unless both parties agree upon it first, period.
He put his hands on his wife first then she slapped him and then he slapped 100 lb girl twice to the ground.. PR account

I've been in the situation when my partner has punched me, scratching my eyes out and taken a high heel shoe of and beaten me with it...all I could do was take it through fear of what people would think if I hit/defended my self to a woman.... it's a very gray area, and men seem to get the bad rap when reacting... culturally men hitting women is a blatant no in the uk. However because of that, some women will attack men because they know people will be on their side, should a man retaliate.... it's also difficult with the equal rights situation.....my view is, if you are in a relationship and have not had one argument, bust up, or whatever....then that relationship is not really.... peace and love to all not matter what gender x
As soon as a weapon is involved all bets are off and she's getting slept. Can't be having that...

He was hit one time, how many times did he go on to hit his wife? You think his reaction was reasonable with the size difference they have?
Facts
@Matīss Kozlovskis He didn't just slap back, he kept slapping her over and over. That is not a reasonable reaction, and I am amazed you think that him not hitting his wife back would somehow give him remorse. If anything it is more likely to be the opposite. He will likely regret this mistake for a very long time.
Several years ago he literally said the only thing you don't come back from is hitting a woman. Well, he hit a woman and he didn't need to hit her that many times at all. If this was 1 to 1, it would be a bit better, but he kept going and that makes him a true piece of shit.
@Matīss Kozlovskis His security was right there with him, he could have easily removed her from his VIP section. There was no need to hit anyone. He wasn't in danger from a 5 foot tall woman that likely weighs less than half what he does.
