There is a lot more backstory to Mizu - especially in episode 5 - This is the only series I've ever done a deep-dive review of every single episode - You're in for a wild ride. It's one of those series that I'd definitely encourage a rewatch. There will be a ton you missed. It's also a series, that I wish I could watch for the first time, again........
I thought Taigen was dishonest about his interest in Akemi, but someone mentioned that sex workers were socially acceptable to be with. haven't found a source yet, but worth looking into to determine his character more within this society's sexism.
I think it was acceptable for men to partake in prostitution back then but it's more about the fact that usually when men are actually in love, especially in the early/honeymoon stages, they often don't want to be with anyone else. I think Taigen cared for Akemi but saw her more as a means to an end then the love of his life. And truly I think Akemi wasn't as in love with him as she thought either.
@@AishaWilson yeah, I suppose Taigen was in love with Akemi as much as he could be given his position and society's class structure. same with Akemi. it'll be interesting how they explore Taigen's arc given how things end this season...
I think Mizu's hearing is messed up from hammering all that metal. ❤ your reaction.

Wonderful reaction! Thank you for making me laugh 😂
Glad you enjoyed!
Abijah Fowler might be her dad... there's a 1 in 4 possibility.
I refuse to accept it!
