Valentina - in a day when record labels are gasping for air - major pianists are increasingly even more careful to share their art with the mass audiences (except when paid to play in concert for a paid audience) - it is incredible that you are delivering more outstanding top recordings of substantial works. A very well known pianist once said he would rather play concertos since they were easier to prepare for and orchestras paid more. Yet you have shared everything from delightful short works to the Rachmaninoff First Sonata to this Tchaikovsky Seasons to major Liszt and Schumann works to Chopin's complete etudes to numerous other major sonatas and short treasures. How lucky we all are that you are the (and the word the is real) pianist who is taking on such a substantial portion of the piano repertoire at such a high level, and allowing not just the few to hear it, but all of us. And of course, anyone who can listen past the short dresses, the bare back pianists, the pianists who align themselves with politicians, or the pianists who practice in front of mirrors to perfect their acting on stage all in the purpose of swaying audiences outside of their musical ability or lack thereof - these people who have good ears know you are one of the absolute greatest pianists alive.
+classicalalways I absolutely agree with you in every word you've written,, this lady is incredible indeed in many ways, she is a GIVING personality, she is generous, she gives with no return, she could have exposed only parts or excerpts as Ads. for her works, to urge the audience to buy her records, she could've made millions out of her musical legacy and brilliancy of playing, but she preferred to let the millions of audience enjoy her works willingly, just to make us happy, with more love to her, not only as an extraordinary pianist, but also as a great soul a great modest human being,,, God bless you Val, you certainly are a unique personality.
If a channel can be built up as Valentina has done with quality content and the "human" element such as interaction through comments and whatnot the situation becomes a win-win for all. With enough subscribers and views more money can be made than a standard concert career alone while opening up this music and its advocacy as it were to a vastly larger audience than otherwise possible and ultimately enlarging the pool of those who might attend concerts and purchase albums. We also are able to see the artist in a more intimate way so that Valentina, for instance, is to her fans, more than just a great pianist but a real admirable woman. Other artists would be wise to adopt this format
This video is a real work of art. Thanks God we have the chance to be delighted by her music and... Omg listening to her reading in her mother tongue is beyond anything else good from this world.
How wonderful is to see a great virtuose like Lisitsa playing pieces like this, not so technically challenging but with the most beautiful melodies ever written... she definitively understood the true meaning of the art that she does.
Dear Madame LISITSA, Your hands makes sound before playing it on the keys of the piano Your soul makes music flowing with Time This is art of expression, I feel Like words spreads out from a poet's mouth Layering a living lyrism Thank You very very much
I've just had a wonderful revelation. About 25 years ago when I was 7 or 8, we had one of our first music lessons at our primary school, where we were played differents pieces of orchestral music in order to test our basic musical abilities, whether we were able to identify the pieces, distinguish them from one another etc. We were told who wrote each piece, what the "name" of the piece was and a very basic description of its musical idea. For example Smetana - Moldau - a confluence of two small streams , Haendel - Fireworks - fireworks at night, or Tchaikovsky - Troika - a majestic three-horse carriage. I liked the "Troika" the best, but was never able to find it in any library or later on the internet. That is until this video, at 34:18. It wasn't a troika. It was a hunt in September! Thank you, after 25 year, I finally got my answer!
Wow such astonishing especial performance, recording and publication this. That is why Valitina Lisitsa is for me one greatest living pianists today and why I have never missed a publication of her on RUclips since I have discovered her just as she had created her RUclips channel. Valentina if you read this: once more I deeply want to thank for all this work and joy you bring to me and I think also to the world. With love, affection and passion the very best regards!

*Fascinasting!* Thank God I long ago got over the mindset that the more difficult a piano piece is to play, the better it is, and vice versa. This shows why. I'm sure some will sneer at this "easy to play" work. Easy to play, but very very difficult to play well, She plays it well. Listening to this, along with my three cats, at 4PM Pacific time. A perfect way to end a sunny warm afternoon. >^..^< Boxing Day 2016: Listening to this a second time.
Dear Valentina! I am just getting to know your amazing talent and through you also real music :) Thank you!
Not only performing piano pieces but also epigraphs to them - that sounds charming!
