Hey I got a question where in a studio right now and they use pro tools and the drums sound bad but where hoping in the mix down we can fix them ...I no on logic you can bring up a snare or Tom etc and tune them is pro tools like that to? Do we have that option to tune them in the mix down?

You should be the one writing the Pro Tools Shortcuts Guide which is about 60 freaking pages long. What I hate about the PT Keyboard is that it uses lots of color codes and I'm color blind, so... Anyway, it is always great to see how other people do things different than I do. Very educative, and straight away I tried to apply some of these tips on my editing, pretending like I've always known them (almost all of us do the same). When I'm not the tracking engineer but, say, the recording director on a project in other studios, and I see the engineer do a magic trick that usually takes me 10 seconds to do, I'd be sneaking behind trying to steal it without being noticed. This is kinda funny because usually I'm a session director when a friend and I have written a song for a famous artist in Japan. Both of us have used Pro Tools for ages. We'd arrive to the studio, watch the guy do that something, and we look at each other eyes like "WTF was that?" and try to steal it the whole time. When it is a mixing session or mastering session we do the same. The difference is that we learn nothing.

This part pissed me off so much. Ctrl + alt + f does not do the same thing on PC pro tools so this video is completely useless for us. If I'm moving back a drum part that's early.. I have no idea how to fill the f********* space without including the beginning of the original timed hit.

Im a 20 year exp drummer. By editing by your eyes you are ending editing things that maybe are "weird" seeing the grid, but sounds completly right. Most of the original takes you edited sounded just right. If you are correcting something like 9ms, you are guided by your eyes. 9ms is not a measure anyone can distinguish. 9ms does not make a fill wrong. Please, watch out because you are not editing. You are turning a human drummer into a machine.

I know this comment is old, but I have to say one thing. When I started engineering 25 years ago I feel the same way as you and said so to a veteran producer. He quickly proved me wrong with his back to the computer as I moved things slight amounts. Fast forward about 15 years and I can without a doubt hear the difference in 9ms. Now with that said, I agree with leaving the human feel intact, but to say that 9ms is negligible is just wrong. It has been tested countless times.

They’ve been editing like this since the tape says. Except this is a lot of easier. Engineers would literally mark tape. Cut and move just as he’s doing here. Nothing new. Even the rawest recordings have been edited like this in the old days. This is how you get music to be tight. He even mentions not to snap to grid to keep the human feel in there.

Picture this: you're working with a great drummer, but he broke up with his girlfriend the night before and he just isn't at his best today. But he's leaving tomorrow morning, they're out of budget, and the studio is booked the next day. What choice to do you have to make the most of what you've got? Nobody is suggesting that editing is a substitute for a great performance or that you should edit everything super tightly - it's just a tool that you will probably want to have in your toolbox in case you need it :)
