Hi all! More useful & beautiful mac focused tech this week - my favourite bits of Apple focused Tech & accessories for 2023! + Watch this next for how to set up your desk for productivity: ruclips.net/video/vn8azJ0Dh-Q/видео.html ❤
Love that desk mat. I am thinking of getting a Pepper like accessory, and am wondering if yours tries to jump up on your shelves where your lenses are, or generally cause mayhem with all the lovely smaller desk accessories you have - perhaps some tips for kitty proofing a workspace? Thanks!!! Edit: Those keyboards are so yum. I think in a previous life I was a foley artist, so I appreciate the sound snack!
I love my BenQ monitor light too, but it's not Halo; maybe at the end of this year, I will upgrade my monitor and light. I use ZhiMi 200W power bank for my laptops(MacBook Pro 16" 2021, MacBook Pro 15" 2015, Razer Stealth Blade 13" 2017), but it looks like they don't sell in the UK.
Color accurate BenQ is great and so is the m-keybosrd. You did you research. BUT why for the love of image quality would you use a light on your monitor? Forget about white balance and brightness destortion / misperception that would introduce but just the glare in on itself? If i wanted to introduce the worse set up to destroy image quality i couldn't positioned that light any better.
Thanks. Well yes, of course, for image work this is true. For general computing and working in Notion, I’d rather easy my experience of staring at a screen and look after my eyes and headaches. The good news is, the light has an on / off switch! 😂😜
@@BetterCreating Eddit: hope this doesn't come over as harsh. Wasn't meant to be, I promise🙂 That is exactly the oposite of what you should be doing for your eyes, no offense. First, you should not be in a dark room with just your monitor on, and if you do have proper room lights they should be enough. Second, if you do want/need to work with room lights off (energy preservation or other reasons) than you should set up the light source so that it lights up your desk and, more importantly for eye strain, the wall behind monitor, without that light source being in your direct view nor it falling on monitor at all (Ban Q even has monitor "hoods" for exactly this). The best thing to do on your desk to accomplish that darkroom/ ineficiant daylight set up would be to place the light source BEHIND the monitor. Make sure the light sorce is of neutral color and brightness. Home entertainment folks like to utilize LED strips. That can allow you to change the color and brightness, but they are usualy not high CRI. In general, I dont "work" in a darkroom setup and have high CRI LED cealing light in daylight color that can be adjusted for brightness in order to keep my room at the same brightness level irregardless of how much daylight comes trough the window. For media work you can have monitor calibration tools like xrite automaticly change the brightness of your monitor based on room brightness, but that wont be much use for eye strain if all you have is monitor in a dark(ish) room. I just found your chanal so not sure if you do smart home automatons but you could even automate your lighting set up based on what you are doing. I have separate "leaving room" type setup (same room) where I have warm lights mounted all around/behind furniture that have no direct cast but bath the floor (dark carpet here) and the walls in a cozy and relaxed glow for movie watching and reading. I hope this helps you or somone else here. I'm still going through your chanal and love your take on things. You have such a clean.and organized approach to things. Love it!
@@MD-gk4uh I think we have our wires crossed my friend! :) I agree - I don't sit in a dark room! I do use a backlight on the monitor bar, and I like the BenQ light bar as it adjusts to ambient lighting levels to help in some of these ways, I often use the low blue light mode on my monitor for typing work as well which i find is good etc etc - ambient lamps all that. What I mean is I don't have the screen-bar on for design work, I do have other lighting :) Thanks for the comments and for the kind words about the content! Cheers!

😊
Fantastic video. This really opened my eyes to desk tech. Do lots of people have there macs on the floor and use better monitors?

Another fantastic video, Simon!
Thanks for sharing with us!
Cheers from Brazil!
Thanks my friend! Happy Friday! :)
What do you think about an Anker cable port/dock? I’m looking at the 8 in 1 version for my Mac (RP: £~70)
Not tried then but anything Anker is usually pretty great. If I was going for a Mac dock for everything - I think I’d also look at CalDigit
Any swag from LA being added to your desk?
Sadly no - but great trip! :)
Where do i get the key horn q1 v2 in white
I’m waiting for the K3 Pro UK version! (Please be this month)
Yeah - it’s definitely an upgrade and worth waiting for :)

Nice - yeah the halo is a great add on. Really like it. :)
more like a maximalist... but I dig it.
Yeah, I need a clearout. Ha
Keychron boards are great but their customer service is terrible!!
You know you deal with a lot of millennials if you say "mechanical keyboards, if they're new to you"
