    I’ve been using the COROS Pace 3 for a couple of weeks; it’s my first sports watch. It has been excellent, providing everything I wanted in a running watch. I have a chest strap and use it, but the heart rate monitoring from the watch has been spot on. The battery life is so good. I’m currently at a week and a half since charging, and I’ve done around nine or so hours of running (only using All Systems On mode, not duel band), but the GPS has been acceptable in the areas I’m running with no tall buildings around. The app and training hub are great. Very happy with my purchase.

    I switch between COROS and Garmin, I think for the training metrics the COROS Pace 3 wins for the price in my opinion. The 165 is definitely missing the training features the 265 has, but of course that’s reflected in the price! Great for a new runner or someone who isn’t fussed about the extra features.

    Love my recently purchased GFR 165. Amoled display is outstanding. GPS and heart monitor accuracy spot on. Customization of main watch face has many standard options and colors. I’m so glad I chose this over other models. 😊

    Sold my Apple Watch and went for the Pace 3. The only thing that was swaying me toward the Garmin was Spotify but for £80 more and less ‘running’ features it didn’t make sense.

    Great comparison! Love your channel for all the reviews regarding running gears.
    I upgraded from Pace 2 to Garmin 165 and so far very happy! It all depends on what your priorities are I think - I only use it for running so no need for multi sport mode; gps picks up quicker than Pace 2 (I’m sure Pace 3 is better); I’ve watched other reviews and Pace 3 lags in pace reading and I find that to be true - I’m learning how to pace myself outdoors so this is important.
    The biggest factor though why I love my Garmin more than Pace 2 or I imagine Pace 3 as well are the buttons!!! It might sound dumb but I didn’t realize how much I was missing out without the buttons.

    Garmin's best value at the moment is the 255 without any doubt. The 165 is only for those who really really really really want Amoled and understandably don't want to pay £400 for the 265.

      Not necessarily. I'm a runner. 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons. I also do strength training in the gym and a little short-range cycling outdoors. I don't need all that extra stuff being run focused only. Had my 165 for 2 weeks. It's a great budget watch for those like myself. BTW, the GPS isn't awful as many say it is.

    Any chance you guys can do comparison videos between entry level running watches and smart watches / fitness bands? As a new runner, I'm hesitant to invest in a watch like the FR 165 since I'm not sure how much more value it can provide over a fitness band or smart watch. I currently use a Redmi Watch 4 and would love to know how much better an experience I might have with a full on running watch. Thanks!

    • @imkevinhoff
      @imkevinhoff 5 месяцев назад +3

      If you're brand new to running, or casually running(few times a week, 5k or less each time) then a Series 9 or GW 6 is perfect and would be my recommendation. It will give you all the information you need for your fitness alongside being a superior smart watch. The Garmin/Coros will provide deeper insights into your running. They are a fitness watch first and foremost. If you want a mixture of both worlds, the 165 would win as it includes a bit more smart features than the Pace3. It boils down to your lifestyle. Need the smart features daily? AW9/GW6. Don't use those? 165/Pace3. Hope this helps you decide.
      Edit: I'm not familiar with the Redmi but you could replace what I said about Apple/Samsung with that if it works well.

    The Coros build quality worries me and that dial just look cheap (especially with the fabric strap). As I’m already on Garmin Connect (with workouts set up etc) don’t fancy switching to a Coros app.
    The training and other data insights also seem more developed on the Garmin range.

  • @clas683

    One thing no testers test or mention is time accuracy. These are watches not only used during training but as regular wrist watches aswell for tracking steps and sleep and they also give you the time of day. My coros pace 2 is slow and drags behind about 3 min per week. Maybe not important to many people but you need to adjust it frequently.
