It the mode to set the local time and date you have to scroll through until you see VIB or FLASH. In flash you can have hourly beeps, but you can't turn off the flash. Which sucks if you want to conserve battery power. You're Welcome.
No, it can't; it's not atomic. But it does have a World Time feature, so it's quite easy to switch between time zones and keep your home time set. The watch probably was set to London for the World Time screen by default, and you just got lucky. ;)
@@Smaug1 I was wondering, is it possible to have the hourly chime, make noise (like on normal G-shocks) and then the VIB is set for the alarms / Timers?
Airstrike Mike No, it's not strong enough to wake me. 30 seconds sounds about right, though I haven't timed it. Best bet for waking up with this watch would be to take it off, put it on the nightstand, set it for flash alert/beep mode, and use the snooze alarm mode so it'll keep going off until you wake up. The alarm is reasonably loud. If you're in a deep sleep and you're a heavy sleeper, that might not even do it. Read up a little on the science of sleep cycles too. The absolute BEST way to wake up is by using a sleep cycle tracking app on your smartphone. It uses the accelerometer to sense when you're in a deep sleep, and it will wake up between sleep cycles, so you feel better. Consider the Vibration Alarm as a self-reminder tool when you're awake. It is unbeatable in loud environments and quiet environments when a beep alarm is either annoying to others or inaudible.
Its a military designed inspired stealth watch, stealth watch is actually bought by soldiers and officers in armed forces all over the world. It also fit the regulation of certain armies, if its a black watch with backlight it can used in training to the full service in combat without uniform violation and it is now allowed. Casio has proved it strength over many competitors. Most feel like gun materiel. Black G Shocks are popular to servicemen and astronauts.
I liked this watch when bought it. It had everything I wanted and I'm so happy I bought this without regret, but man the strength of this watch is the next level badass. The screen is a problem its not clear enough to read maybe thats due to its G Shock armouring glass. Its truly rock solid hard resin. Vibration is not too bad in my opinion as I own a standard Casio Viberation Alarm, and remember its a stealth watch. Other than that it is the sexiest watch in all angles in the G Shock collection.
I find it easy to read. Not QUITE as easy as a typical gray background one, but definitely not hard. I'm glad you like it. My only complaint about it is that it is too big to wear in the wintertime, as it won't fit under sleeve cuffs without getting caught up on them.
You left out the backlight. Would have loved to see the super illuminator in action. Hey Jeremy, could you please say where you found it for around 100 dollars. Great review thanks
The backlight is impressive as a backlight, but it is no flashlight, as some have led to believe. As for where to get them for "around $100" Amazon (US) has the basic gray one for $89, and the black variations range from $110 up to $150. That's subject to change on a daily basis with Amazon, but there you have it!
Is it difficult getting it on and off with the two pins in the wrist band? i was tossing up between two g shock brands and I liked the one with just the one pin but I love this model. Thanks for the video. :)
+Nick fj Bexs No, because the dual pins are linked together. The only reason to avoid this one related to pins is if you don't like the LOOK of dual pins. Which is the other G-Shock you're considering?
I like it how they maximize & utilize the entire screen for some functions without hiding the time unlike the 5600 series that the screen is so tiny.. Btw, which is bigger & thicker, this or the GD-400?
You can forget it's there IF you don't have to wear sleeves over it. It is a very comfortable watch, but it is a big watch too. Not heavy, just big. So I guess it depends on in which climate you live. I live in the Chicago area, and I NEVER wear my GD 350 in the winter. In the summer, I wear it often. I occasionally wear it in spring and fall, but usually avoid it if I'm wearing a jacket. More than one layer on top of this watch is just not doable, long term. The DW5600E is much better, in those situations, or better yet, a thin, dressy watch. It doesn't have to be so rugged if it isn't exposed to direct hits, right?
Im planning to buy that watch but im confuse how big is that? My height is 5,5 and im skinny. Do you think that watch is too big for me? What is your height?
nice review but I really like to hear the "beep" in the reviews to hear what it sounds like, I am thinking of getting this watch, probably the nicest GS watch I've seen
Well, it's a rounded square. Square makes more sense for digital watches anyway. I remember when motorcycle mirrors went from square (in the 80s) to round or rounded (90s and beyond). The world of interest behind us is square, so square made sense, and now round is just trying to be classic or satisfying some aesthetic preference.
I love mine, it has been my daily watch for a few years, the only thing I don't like is the brightness is very low, even tho the pictures show bright yellow, it also traps hairs on me. Other than that it is my favourite so far. Good video
Yeah, I sold mine because it pulled arm hairs under the "wings". It was so big I didn't want to wear it all winter; coat sleeves got caught on it. Those two things ruined it for me. I'd like to see this module in a smaller watch.
CORRECTION: Casio did not "skip" the beeping audio alarm as stated in this tutorial. You can opt to select either VIB for vibration only or FLASH for the beeping alarm while the display also flashes.
@@Smaug1 Hello! very good video! I have a question, is there a way to make the alarm and signal time alarm sound without the light flashing? Or does the alarm always sound with the flash together? Thank you!
I don't remember, but I don't think so. Look up the instructions online and see. I wouldn't worry about it though; even using the vibration motor (or light + audio alarm) daily, the battery will last 5 years.
Manan Khandelwal The top RIGHT corner is what looks like a radar chart. That just indicates what features are selected, for example, whether alarms will beep and flash the light, or vibrate, whether the timer is on, etc.

(guessing) Probably about 20 seconds, on and off. That vibration motor is a major drain on the battery, so they have to be careful. Even so, it's a big watch, with room for a big battery! The estimate 5 years with typical usage.
No, G-Shock is the product line within Casio's range. It means shock resistant and overall durable. There's text on the bezel that says 'Vibe Alarm', that is what means it has the vibration alarm feature.
'wish I'd gotten the gray one, but I read one review that said the display is not very contrasty that scared me off. I like the dual background color of the gray LCD. Plus, it doesn't look like it's trying to be so .... tactical. :) congratulations.
As on most Casio digital watches, just hold in the upper left ADJUST button for a couple seconds, it goes into set mode, with some part flashing. Push the right buttons to increment or decrement that part. Press the MODE button on the lower left to cycle through all the parts that may be set.
It seems like the wings are not really good for ANYONE. I have a small wrist, and the wings pull my arm hair. It was the reason I wound up selling mine. It never got any better with use. Now, I'm rocking a G-2900, which is smaller and doesn't need wings an MT-G and a Pro-Trek.
Kate Son I think the vibration motor used too much juice for it to charge with a tiny solar cell. It has a monster battery in it that will last 5 years, that's a good way to go too.
GShock did make a solar vibrating watch about 10 years ago that was limited run in the non-US market. Go look one up. Amyway, if you wore this watch for 5 years without using any of the functions. You could easily have the watch battery last longer than 10 years. There are legendary stories of first generation 5600 GShock watches running on the same battery for 25 years. That was old technology and transistors in quartz movements. This very watch we are all talking about in the video. could easily last 25 years or more using the functions conservatively Sorry watch geek.
Casio did introduced a solar powered vibration alarm watch before the GD-350 but the display was small due to the solar cell and the vibe alert was weak. Solar powered watches don't have good alert features as their battery powered counterparts
I wish casio would create a watch with multiple countdown timers. Also, setting the countdown timer is such a hassle - you have to push a button for two seconds which takes out the speed of doing it. I wish they would improve countdown timers so that if you set a timer for your break-time, for your worktime, and for your tea, you don't have to spend 30 seconds setting the right timer each time. I really think that the 2 second holding thing is a redundant thing of the past - it's not like you have a problem if you were to accidentally trigger the action.
Great points, Barrrt! Multi-function alarms and countdown timers are the most useful things on these watches. I think a one-second hold-down time for the ADJUST button would be sufficient.
Thanks! Regarding your suggestion for a one second hold-down time of the ADJUST button: Why even a one second time? It's not likely to push that button on accident. And if you do - there isn't any problem. If you mess up the main time of your watch you could be in trouble, so I understand a safety precaution. But if I use my timer I want to be able to set it as easily as possible. And if I accidentally change it, it will be visible straight away and easily changeble. I mean, it's not like if I change my timer from 30 minutes to 29 on accident I will be like "Oh no, my life is broken now and I have no means of fixxing this". Thanks for the feedback Jeremy! I wonder how we could get our need for timer-setting speed across to the designers at CASIO :-)
Hi, I recommend you to check the g7710! It has 2 consecutive countdown timers, i don't now if it's what are you looking for, but the g7710 is the only g shock with that function!
Wow Andrea, Thank you! I wish they made G7710 with a vibe alarm. I'd like to use the timers mainly for work and I don't respond as well to beeps as I do to buzzes. Thanks for this tip! I would never have found that watch without you.
+Nassef Elshawarby It really depends on the light. A proper backlight is always good. LED side lighting can be either good or bad. The old incandescent sidelights were TERRIBLE.
isit too big for a girl's wrist, like do you thing it would look good on a girl. Its a really good watch, annd i haven't found anything like this for girls. Please help me out.
+Moulya P Depends on your taste, style, and size! I have a small wrist, 6-3/4" in circumference, and it is big on ME. However, the wings that are between the watch head and the strap make it comfortable even on a small wrist. Maybe measure your wrist circumference and compare it to mine in the video and that'll give you a better idea.
I have small hands/wrists for a guy and it looks pretty big on me. In that sense it's definitely a fashion risk. However, if you have the guts, you can go for it and make it your own. But I must say: it's very big.

Then , I think this will be perfect for me . Thanks a lot
Im planning to buy that watch but im confuse how big is that? My height is 5,5 and im skinny. Do you think that watch is too big for me? What is your height?
will this watch allow you to have it vibrate or loud alarm and both ??
+Carl Palma When on vibrate mode, it is silent, as that is half of the point. When on flash mode, it beeps and the LEDs in the display flash.
nice review but I really like to hear the "beep" in the reviews to hear what it sounds like, I am thinking of getting this watch, probably the nicest GS watch I've seen
It sounds like every other Casio beep; nothing special in that regard.
Jeremy, great review. Do you know if it's possible to change the length of the vibration alarm?
No, I'm pretty sure you can not change the length/duration of the vibration alarm!
Devin Brines
You can choose the vibe as a snooze if you wish
great watch! I bought it from amazon. hey @Jeremy can you do a detail tutorial on this ?
Is the watch more like grey or black colour? I am confused
Black
i feel the watch is too square. does it look good in person just like in the video?
Well, it's a rounded square. Square makes more sense for digital watches anyway. I remember when motorcycle mirrors went from square (in the 80s) to round or rounded (90s and beyond). The world of interest behind us is square, so square made sense, and now round is just trying to be classic or satisfying some aesthetic preference.
So , bottom line it looks good .right?
Yes, looks and feels great, and it has the best buttons of any digital watch I've ever owned. (and I've owned dozens of them, since the 80s)
How the display looks in direct sunligth?
does the countdown timer have an auto repeat feature?
if you dont modify it, every time you push the dedicated button will countdown the same amount of time.
CORRECTION: Casio did not "skip" the beeping audio alarm as stated in this tutorial. You can opt to select either VIB for vibration only or FLASH for the beeping alarm while the display also flashes.
Fair enough. I guess how I should have phrased it is that we cannot have it beep without it flashing too.
@@Smaug1 Hello! very good video! I have a question, is there a way to make the alarm and signal time alarm sound without the light flashing? Or does the alarm always sound with the flash together? Thank you!
Is there a way to turn off both the light and vibe ?
I don't remember, but I don't think so. Look up the instructions online and see. I wouldn't worry about it though; even using the vibration motor (or light + audio alarm) daily, the battery will last 5 years.
Hi Jeremy, thank you for your response.
whats the top left corner indicate in the radar chart ? you forgot to explain that
Manan Khandelwal The top RIGHT corner is what looks like a radar chart. That just indicates what features are selected, for example, whether alarms will beep and flash the light, or vibrate, whether the timer is on, etc.
one of the best model of g shock and im proud owner of this.
😂😂😂😂😂 Is that your FIRST Gshock or what..!?
Got an MTG, GW 9400-1 Rangeman Triple sensor, 2 x steptracker (yellow-black) , GD350 neg.display , GA2000 1aer (white/black) and forgot the other references..😂
That one is nice BUT NOT the best Gshock.. The ONLY new thing on that one WAS the VIBRATOR alarm.. And UNFORTUNATELY it's only working with the alarm and NOT even with the chrono..
*So you see, that's NOT the best Gshock at all... Check all the functions of your watch BEFORE you buy one..
@@Merky_Gz For the price, it is definitely one of the best.
@@Merky_Gz rangeman costs 242 usd, gd 350 costs 72 usd. Ofcourse the rangeman will have more features. If you factor in the value for money aspect, gd 350 is friggin awesome. Do the damn math before badmouthing a good watch. And FYI, the vibe alert works for chrono.
How to turn off tmr indicator?
Good review mate! Quick question does the vibration work for hourly chimes ?
Yes, it does work for hourly chimes.
How do you turn on the hourly chimes?
Hi,may i ask how long the vibration will take?thanks
(guessing) Probably about 20 seconds, on and off. That vibration motor is a major drain on the battery, so they have to be careful. Even so, it's a big watch, with room for a big battery! The estimate 5 years with typical usage.
I know most (if not all) G-Shocks are illuminated, are they also?
Yes. Pressing the 'G' button just below the screen activates the backlight.
Vibe Alarm should be a standard on all G's.
Mine is black. (-1B) suffix. There is another model with a different suffix that is gray, with positive LCD, instead of black with negative.
There are three more versions.
Hi Jeremy, thanks for a great review. I plan to buy this watch and i got a question. What is the difference between GD350-1B and GD-350-1BER ?
ER is the European version I think but they are identical.
g shock means it's vibrant or not during alarm
No, G-Shock is the product line within Casio's range. It means shock resistant and overall durable. There's text on the bezel that says 'Vibe Alarm', that is what means it has the vibration alarm feature.
Great review! I have this watch in the grey and I love it!
'wish I'd gotten the gray one, but I read one review that said the display is not very contrasty that scared me off. I like the dual background color of the gray LCD. Plus, it doesn't look like it's trying to be so .... tactical. :) congratulations.
Is this really worth the buy man? Cos I am in need of a good shock that is not round in bezel! So I am considering this. Help me out!
Joel Jackson this one is rounded at the edges, as you can see. It's big, so you have to be ok with that. Quality and ease of use are outstanding.
Jeremy D thanks man!!!
got mine 3 days ago - still struggling to figure it out
Read the manual, it's very clear. If you lost the manual, you can search the web for the module number, which is printed on the case back.
@@Smaug1 Cheers man! 👍🏻
Can u turn off the hourly time alert?
On every single G shock you can.
hello friend, inorganic glass?
which is better inorganic or mineral? thank you
Mineral glass. All standard G-Shocks have that.
just got mine and chose it over the king bb1
How do you change the time on it tho
As on most Casio digital watches, just hold in the upper left ADJUST button for a couple seconds, it goes into set mode, with some part flashing. Push the right buttons to increment or decrement that part. Press the MODE button on the lower left to cycle through all the parts that may be set.
thanks man
Jeremy D THANK YOU SO MUCH
How do you turn key tone back on?
I don't remember, but it's easy to find in the manual.
Where did you buy this G-Shock?
Michael Jeffrey Amazon
Made in ??
awesome review.. it was very helpful..enjoyed watching it..
Just got this watch and I love it, except for those wings on the bottom..I have larger wrists and they dig into the top of my wrist.
I removed them and replaced the screws with ones from an old dead G shock so they don’t stick out anymore. Fits perfectly now! Good luck.
@@Smaug1 they work out fine for me.
@@Smaug1 Lol, a G-2900? That thing is FUGLY! The GD-350-1B looks a million times better
The strap is far better and the shape of the watch is great
It should have tough solar battery instead of removable battery that would be great.
Kate Son I think the vibration motor used too much juice for it to charge with a tiny solar cell. It has a monster battery in it that will last 5 years, that's a good way to go too.
It's a CR2032. That provides more MaH than a solar cell
This very watch we are all talking about in the video. could easily last 25 years or more using the functions conservatively
Sorry watch geek.
Casio did introduced a solar powered vibration alarm watch before the GD-350 but the display was small due to the solar cell and the vibe alert was weak. Solar powered watches don't have good alert features as their battery powered counterparts
how yo set UTC time
Guys, I'm not am instruction manual. Go download the manual for this kind of question, please.
How can i change the date ?
You can't change the date format on this one.
I have many seiko, invicta and citizen watches, but this is the watch I gravitate to when I get up in the morning.
No, I think it's the last 5 or 10 that it beeps for.
I ordered the G7710 to try it out. Thanks again.
i think that another Pro is that the light is like the old models of Casio and not the new ones that are really not useful
There's always baby-g 👍

great review, thanks!
Gshock are meant to built that way . BIG !!!!! You can always go with a smaller Casio .
Just got one with super led light. Brilliant hunting watch
I want this, this 25th 😁😁

THUMBS UP Great review for a Great Watch I ordered this model used $80
No countdown ????????
MrSpycore Yeah, it has a countdown timer. (edited to remove the earlier comment about it having a home-screen accessible timer; that is the GD350)
Jeremy D One last question, does the countdown repeat?
No.
The best watch...
Nice video thanks. I just got this watch and got to know operations
Damn I wish this was Tough Solar
It's tough, but not solar. Battery life is 5 years. Can't deal with changing a battery every 5 years?
Get a GW-400 then.
I've bought this watch yesterday, it's great
I've read the entire instruction manual and I found a wonderful feature I didn't expect
See the following pages in the instruction manual and find out for yourself .. you will love it
Pages :
E-46
E-47
E-48
If you haven't the instruction manual just tell me
Thank you for the vedio
What feature have you found ?
press the light botton for about 5 seconds and every time you raise your hand to see the time the light will turn on automatically
wow
perfect precise review
Thank you
Precise...!???? 😂😂😂😂😂
@@Merky_Gz Damn!
I don't know why I did it😂😂😂
Good
i hate those wings, those pull your hair. damn but I want it, if i ever buy it i hope i will not have to sell it because of the weight and the hair pulling.
I was in denial about them for awhile. But I have to admit: you're right. They DO pull hair, almost as bad as their folded steel bracelets on their budget models. :-\
did not know about the steel bracelets pulling hair too. good to know.
It's just the really cheap ones. My really bad one is on the Casio A158-W. I've had a few Casios with metal bracelets over $50, and they're fine.
I lucky my arms don't have hair
I would shave my arms if were hairy
