    Oh, my goodness gracious, thank you for this video! I had requested an update on foundations the other day, and you replied you were already working on it...and here it is! You have no idea how I appreciate this. Between reaching the mid-50s mark and upping the Retin-A, my skin has gotten a little bit drier and a lot more sensitive. Every foundation I used to love has been discontinued or is no longer working well. This renewed "best" round up is so timely! I love the way you listed them in order from sheer to full coverage. That is very useful. A million gazillion thanks!

    I know this isn't a foundation, but the wet n wild tinted moisturizer is so beautiful. I just rub some on with my fingers, throw on some mascara and lip gloss and I'm out for a quick errand. Plus it's 5.99! I'm buying a back up and I don't usually do that.

    After many years of not really wearing makeup much, other than mascara so I look like I'm awake, I recently looked into a good foundation. Sephora, bless their hearts, offered a good sample selection of their "Best Skin Ever" and the first color was 10N, which was perfect for me. Love it. I used to have a terrible time blending foundation, but I have a brush that seems to eliminate that - it could also be finally having the correct foundation color, and a good quality one. :) Thanks for a really helpful video. I've subbed and will be exploring your other advice. :) Thanks.

    I love the Dior Airflash too. I'm in 200N. Quite honestly, even though it's $62, I grab one or two when Sephora has their sales going on, or Nordstrom (online, free shipping). I never pay the full price, so getting it on sale brings it to a price in line with most other prestige foundations. After a few hours wear time, if I'm having a bad face day or it's just one of those days where my foundation wants to act up, I just buff my face with a clean, fluffy, dry powder brush and it goes back to looking amazing.

You can also layer it for fuller coverage. I do find that I need to blot during the day, but once I do, I can easily wear it for another 3-5 hours. I might have to retry the the Dior backstage and double wear. I loved the finish of the dior and the longevity of dw, but both creased in my smile lines. Τhank you always for your lovely videos and the time you take to make them. I may have commented on the same issue on another of your videos.
    My personal experience with the Dior backstage has unfortunately not been as positive as yours. I found it to be a completely flat matte finish that took away any lustre of my skin and made me look older. I am combination and do not like luminous foundations but on me the Dior backstage looked as I said the wrong type of matte.
    Its always a good idea to request a sample before purchasing a foundation since people seem to have very different experiences with the same products

    I have given up on cream stuff in summer, but I’m gonna keep your recommendations for fall🤓😻 in summer, I use Ultrasun facial spf on dry cleansed skin (best ever!!) and when it has sunk in just brush on some laura geller balance and glow baked foundation, thats it❣️

    I am dying to try the Revlon Candid foundation and concealer, but right now I feel like yet another foundation in my normally pale shade isn't practical since I am beginning to accumulate a tan and will eventually need to purchase some products in darker shades. I've heard nothing but good reviews and opinions of the Candid.

    Unfortunately any foundation that contains sunscreen is an automatic no for me since they are usually a chemical sunscreen or a mix of chemical & mineral (full spectrum) My skin just doesn't tolerate chemical spfs as I found out after trial & error & a visit to my dermatologist :( Personally I'd prefer if they didn't put sunscreen in foundation since as you mentioned no one wears that much foundation to have proper protection & most of us already wear a sunscreen as part of our daily skincare routine. Chemical spfs are irritating to many people with rosacea & other skin sensitivities so it makes more sense to leave it out unless the product is an actual tinted sunscreen/moisturizer hybrid. Since I can only use mineral sunscreen, my usual go-to foundation is still It Cosmetics CC Cream since it has a mineral based spf too but I would like to find something better.

      @@StephanieMarie Thanks! I find that my sunscreen (Elta MD UV Elements) makes my thicker, matte foundations look like concrete. The Huda luminous matte looks unsightly, for example. A moisturizing primer on top of my sunscreen helps with that, but then it significantly shortens the wear time.

    Love your videos.
    You do mention if a foundation has a fragrance which is very helpful. However, it would be even more helpful if you mentioned whether a foundation contains alcohol. The Dior foundation lists alcohol as the third ingredient. Applying Alcohol on the skin is drying, irritating and can create free radicals.

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  3 года назад

      I totally meant to do that and realized I mentioned it on some halfway through filming but didn’t at the beginning, so I edited it out 🤦🏼‍♀️ because I wasn’t consistent. While it can be, because you apply it over sunscreen and skincare and if you apply it inconsistently, it may not be an issue. Totally wasn’t thorough with that on this video. My bad.
