thank you Mary. I ordered these as soon as I watched Tim's video. Yup, I can bet they will have more sets. I want that new Intrepid Mariner color and more of the greens etc. I can't wait to use these and boy your cards were just fabulous. MY fave was the first one- easy and boy that sparkle was amazing. tfs
YESSS...I'm sure there will be more colors coming out. I played some more today and WOAH...I just love them.
The cards are really pretty Mary. I love how the coloring turned out. Thank you for showing us a little in depth video of the new pencils. They do blend just beautifully. Thank you!!
Thank you so so much; these were super fun to play with!
Hi Mary! You’ve recently inspired me back to crafting, which means I’ve found lots of supplies I either can’t remember how to use, out of style, or never really bothered. Would you think about an episode on using your forgotten supplies? Glitter, brads, buttons, dazzles, photo paper, glaze, gelatos, ribbon, twine…the list is endless!
Oh wow, that's a great idea; I'll give that some serious thought! Thanks! And welcome BACK!
@beekeepers wife: look up videos on You Tube. That’s what I did when I went to use my Flower Soft.
RUclips videos!! Mary is WONDERFUL but there are other RUclipsr cardmakers out there with lots to share. Put cardmaking in the topics section and then search "getting started" or beginners tips, that sort of thing. I completely taught myself this craft via RUclips videos! In one year's time, you'd be amazed at what I can do now!!!! Good luck!
@@ellenmcphate1441 : I used the term “use it up”. Lots of good vids! 😀
Ordered mine today. Wow how fun to be one of the chosen few to get to use them. How blessed you are. I did get to see Tim's demo. Both my sister and I about swooned out loud at the colors. Cute cards.
Hahah...Yes swooning out loud is a common side affect of these new releases! Lol Thanks so much!
Beautiful...just ordered the pencils!
Can't wait to make some pretty projects!
Thanks
Yay, thank you! and have the most fun!
I love that you filmed this before you saw Tim's live. Also, love you got a preview of this awesome product. I have watercolor pencils but I'm really excited to try these. FYI - They're not in order of release...salvage patina was pretty recent. Wait to you see the various things Tim did with these pencils!
Thanks so much and I can't wait to catch the replay of Tim's demo. Yay!!
These are such pretty cards!! I just love that rainbow swatch on the page and it was so easy!! Thank you so much for sharing!
My pleasure, thanks so much !
Really lovely cards! Your balloon card was my favorite!
Oh thank you so much for this! That's so encouraging!
When the scorched timber distress color was available for sale, I did order the pencil. I do plan on getting all the pencils. I do also have Arteza watercolor pencils, Derwent intense and the graphitint pencils. I do have full set syndrome.
I just am trying so hard to be a pencil person but struggling. lol
Hi, I just came across your comment as I’m water color pencil shopping. I love TH’s products but I’m also interested in the Derwent Inktense pencils. Have you had a chance to use TH’s pencils? Would you tell me which one you prefer? Thank you.
Mary I am excited about these wonderful pencils. I will check them out. I look forward to learning how to sharpen them for least loss when you have that information available. Your cards are beautiful and inspiring. I don't know what bubble cut is. Huge gratitude and respect for your creativity and integrity. 💖🇨🇦🥰
I was si excited about these pencils I had to add them to my cart right away. Thank you again, Mary. Huge hug. 🥰🇨🇦💖
You are so welcome! Thank you for this sweet comment!
Bubble cutting is what Mary calls fussy cutting for greetings. Basically cut around the words/greeting with fine-tip scissors, like you would fussy cut an image. Hope this helps! :)
@@andrealavigne7824 Thank you so much for your kindness. I really appreciate that you have taken the time to explain. ☺️🇨🇦
WOW Those look so creamy and wonderful 🥰❤😊❣ Spreads just just melted butter. I've got to get these, but probably alittle bit at a time, with my little cheap s.s.i. check after working 2 to 3 jobs at a time my whole life, than I get that thrown at me like here ya go lol. Anyways I do need to invest in these. Thank You Mary so much for sharing your amazing beautiful cards with me. Sending Love, Hugs and Blessings to you and your Family and RUclips Family ❤ Xoxo Vicki from the State of Utah 🍯🐝
I under
They are not going anywhere so just enjoy what you have until you make space for them. BIg hugs
Yes I was interested in your search book. I em in the process of making one. So I liked your full page usage. That's what I want. I also really like these pencils. I'm sold
Awesome, yes I use it to hold all my swatches!
I've just ordered these, enjoyed your video and your cards turned out great! you have inspired me!
Yay! Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know that.
Wow, Mary!!! Love love love all these beautiful samples! Thank you for sharing using this new product from Tim. 😃
You are so welcome! These were fun to play with!
I love all 3 cards!!! I am not a crazy Tim Holtz fan but love these pencils!!!
Thanks so much! I was surprised at how well I was able to get rid of the lines on the paper. That was sort of the selling point for me
Wow, that rainbow blend was enough. I want them now. Wasn’t sure before.
RIGHT? I was redoing that for the video and was amazed! I didn't wipe my brush not once...amazing!
Love the balloons card, who would think of tracing round a die..great idea! I will certainly give it a try..many thanks for your video…I will add the water colour distressed ink pencils to my Christmas list!
Thanks so much 😊 Yes use what you have right? I thought that was so fun and I didn't have a heart balloon die. lol
Thanks for this! I caught Tim's live partway through, so I missed the intro to the product.. this was a nice short intro. I fine Tim's lives can be overwhelming...they just SO long
You are so welcome! and Yes they can be long so I'm so glad this was helpful!
Thanks so much for doing this video…I bought the pencils last night and am so glad I did!
YAY! So fun, I'm glad too! You'll love them.
Well Mary, just a thought from your little artist friend. These are nice. they do blend nicely. But I am hooked (from an artist perspective anyway) on Intense Ink Watercolor pencils. Maybe because I am more apt to like the use of primary colors and blending from there. All my years of oil painting I guess :) Might be persuaded to try some of Tim's warm browns, or maybe a few other unique colors etc. Artistically, will stick with the Intense Ink pencils. Also, these Intense pencils KEEP their vibrant colors even after drying etc. But you use Tim's if you enjoy them darlin. after-all, that's what being creative is ALL about!!
Super helpful thank you so much !
Love them and your Art! Thank You
Thank you so much for this Lisa!
OMG! I can’t wait to try these out! Your card techniques are are awesome! Thank You so much❣️
Awww thanks so much, Judy!
Thank you for the information and great tips and ideas for cards!!! Much appreciated. ❤️
My pleasure thank you!
Fantastic watercolor pencils 🥰 I love your fabulous card designs, the way they blends and the stamp-sets ❤️ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
Thanks so much 😊
I just ordered the full set of these pencils. I have hated/loathed/despised every watercolor pencil I have tried but I think these might be my jam!!
Oh I hope you love these; I'm not sure why you've hated the others but if these tend to cause the same issues, try changing the paper you're using.
Ooohhh wooowww 😲!... veeery niiice 🤩😍! Thanks for sharing this demo ! 😃💚🌹
My pleasure 😊 I'm so glad it was useful!
Love your cards! I especially like the heart balloon one. I am thinking these pencils will go on my wish list.
YAY thank you so much!
Those actually blended a lot better than I expected.....Well done
Yeah I was surprised at that as well.
Love the way you used these pencils. You cards look amazing. TFS 💕💕💕💕
Thank you so much!.
Thanks for this! Waiting for my package!!
Have fun! YAY!
Great video using the Distress Watercolor Pencils. I am definitely trying some of your tips. I never thought of using a stylus to make dots on backgrounds.
I'm so glad it was helpful; thank you for taking the time to let me know.
Absolutely beautiful 🤩
Thank you! 😊
Gorgeous simple cards Mary! I'm making something similar by blending inks.
Awesome and thank you so mucH!
Beautiful cards!! Thanks for sharing!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend💛🧡❤💙💜
Thank you! You too!
Hi Mary, those pencils look amazing. I would get a set of 12 but I just bought a set of Derwent Inktense pencils. Your demos were beautiful. Hope you are well my friend.
Oh you bought great pencils then for sure! I might do a comparison video.
Beautiful cards Mary!!
Those watercolor pencils are awesome!! 🤗
Thanks so much 😊
Must
Have
These
Pens 😍😍😍
I was playing more with them yesterday...so fun!
@@marypolancodesigns I ordered all 3. Can’t wait!!
Hi… Thanks for doing this video… I know I’ll be ordering these pencils since I have the complete line of Distress products but I am curious how they will compare with some of my other watercolor pencils. How quickly the lines disappeared is an encouraging sign of their usability for coloring in stamped images. Have a wonderful weekend! PS - loved your cards - especially the purple floral one - gorgeous! 🙂
Thank you so so much; that means so much to me!
Can you tell me which set you used for the rainbow colors you used? I love all those colors so thought I would start with that pallet first.
Ya know...a more prepared professional would be able to tell you that without a doubt. I, on the other had, am not that person for you today. lol Ok, i am almost positive it was Set 2.
Love them all
Thank you so so much
He says they're different from Dina's Scribble Sticks which I already have but even after watching his LONG video (timestamps thankfully!) I still can't see why 🤷 Anyone? (Other than the two color series I mean LOL)
Oh I hope someone can help answer you; I don't have the scribble sticks. If you have something similar, I imagine it's more than good enough. :)
Hi. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cards and that gorgeous test piece that you kicked off with will make for some more fabulous cards, too. I have a good sized set of Faber Castell watercolor pencils (a Christmas gift from my youngest a few years ago) that I enjoy using. It took a fair bit of practice to get the hang of them as I didn't expect them to be that different to watercolor painting. It's all good fun though. I have also been dabbling in pencil and Gamsol and I'm stunned at how speedy that is to do.
I do love the look of gamsol with colored pencils. 😍 those are some nice pencils you have. I don't have those yet
@@marypolancodesigns Thanks, they're not bad. For use with the Gamsol I use my old Derwent set or my even older Inscribe set. Mind you, they are both from the late 80's/early 90's! 😂
I ordered these too!!!
Woot woot! YAY
Impressive!!! A must have. I just told a friend of mine today that I thought I was done buying watercolor pencils. Why on earth did I say that!!!😂😜
Thank you so much! Yeah I think I stopped saying I was done buying" fill in the blank" a long time ago. Haha
Awesome new pencils and cards!
Thank you so much!
Amazing cards. Great new release.
Thanks a bunch!
Hmmm... they sound really really hard and the swatches looked so weak... I think I will stay with my Inktense Pencils. Your cards turned out super beautiful!!!
Intense are so great, love those as well. You have great pencils in my opinion!
Thank you for sharing. Love your cards.
Thanks so much!
Loving these water color pencils!
They are so fun!
Your cards are so very pretty, Mary!
Thank you so much!
They look like they blend like butter😊. I’m going to have to look into these.
THey seriously do...you should see the results I"m getting...I'll show you in an upcoming video.
@@marypolancodesigns can’t wait. I got the binder & refills the other day. I was going to start filling it yesterday but life interrupted me once again lol. Enjoy your day.
Merci beaucoup
Absolut great projects. Very pretty.
Thank you so much!
Pretty cards! I love the colors! 💕
Thanks so much!
Beautiful colors
So pretty
Hi Mary, Any word on how to sharpen them? Thank you.
Yes...just a regular pencil sharpener although Tim recommends the Prismacolor sharpener and I do too. It's a great inexpensive manual one
Thank you
That was amazing!
Thank you so so much!
Mary, Did you keep the clear plastic sheet in the pencils? My lid will not close with it in the tin?
Yes I did, make sure the lip of the plastic goes down into the tin inside behind the pencils. It's meant to go back in that way
Thank you, I see what you mean.
Mary, do you think these pencils are creamier than other watercolor pencils? Or do you still need to use a lot of pressure to get color down? How do they compare to the crayons? I’m asking because I have fibromyalgia which affects the muscle strength in my hands, so I struggle using any colored pencils. I can use them but then I can’t use my extremely, painful hand for 3 days. 🙄Life…
I think the more you press the more saturation of color you get but I can't say that's a different experience than what I've had with other pencils. I've never used the crayons so I can't commet on those. I feel like these are a mix of crayon and pencil and I do like that about them. But im not sure there's a bi enough difference to now try these.
Are these watercolor pencils ,the normal ones ,or are they like the inktense from derwent.? Main question is are they watercolor or ink bases pencils Can you re wet or are they solid when they dry.
Ggggggreat question; not sure; you might get a quicker answer on Tim's site but I"ll look into it!
They are regular water color pencils- paint, not ink
They are watercolor pencils in the Distress color palette.
So really, nothing new🤷🏻♀️
@@kraftygirl46 not really but if you like the distress color palette then they will be useful.
Beautiful cards
Thanks so much!
First time I have ever heard of these. Are they Tim Holtz? How do you think they would compare to the arteza?
Hi Bell, they are brand new, just released. Also, I never had the Arteza Watercolor Pencils (if that's what you are referring to)
Love them
Great! I had originally turned up my nose hearing about these..... "Bah! I don't need another Distress product." Um.... Yes. Yes I do! Dang it, Mary!! 😀😏
Hahaha....I've done that too. These are super duper pretty but you might have comparable things in your Stash. But im glad I got to play with them
The you’re wonderful card is beautiful
Oh thank you so much for that!!
Great cards
Aww thanks...had so much fun
Hmmmm.... with sets of Inktense and Neo2s.... Graphitints and watercolours and watercolour pencils and jelly gouache .....I don’t think I really need these.... I’m already overwhelmed by my supplies 😂
Then no, you do not need them; stick with the awesomeness you have !YAY
They are colour pencils and they can be sharpened to a point.
YES,...just saw that on Tim's live, thank yoU!
That "ball tip tool" is called a stylus
Thank you for that! :)
they look like watersoluable crayons to me
I don't know what those are; I'll have to check them out. Thanks!
♥️♥️♥️💯🥰
No thanks. Using what I have and not falling for yet another line of whatever.
That's an excellent plan! Love it!
They remind me of macarons🤣💐
MMMMM...yum
How does the weight of the pencil equate to the amount if pigment in the pencil? You have to consider the weight of wood and fillers etc. the ‘pigment’ is the ‘actual colour’ but they can be mixed with fillers, binders etc. you can not judge the amount of pigment just by the weight of the whole pencil. I’m sorry, but you can not.
You are probably 100% right about this. It was 5am so I was most likely just saying things that made sense at the time. 🙃 thanks for the correction.
Watch Tim Holtz program from Saturday.
There's no wood. Most of the of the pencil is usable medium.
There are no fillers, the whole pencil is pigment as there is no wood. Hope that helps.
There is no wood, just a label. And Tim has said that they are highly pigmented.
