Question about UL listing and fireplace stoves? What is the difference between factory built fireplaces and fireplace stoves? 1004.1 says UL127. How is a guy supposed to know the difference?

The main difference is a factory-built fireplace is a built-in unit, installed within the construction of the home. A fireplace stove is a freestanding unit that can be burned with the doors open (like a fireplace) or closed (like a woodstove).
