Toda a arte verdadeira surge do ser humano". Este foi o lema que acompanhou a carreira de Edvard Grieg, o compositor que colocou a Noruega no mapa mundial da música, ao elegê-la como fonte de inspiração.

      Hear! hear!
It’s so amazing to me how that period when almost all the European nations from the French Revolution in 1779 after American Independence right up through Spring of Nations 1848 when the old monarchy’s were being overthrown and abolished and new liberally democratic principles were being installed so each citizen was free with more input into their respective governments with minimal interference from both the church and kings/aristocracy brought about such a revival of new nationalistic music and fairy tales. Grieg wrote this piece in 1872 as Norway was finding its identity outside of Sweden and had renewed interest in their own old folk tales just as the newly created unified country of Germany compiled many older stories under the umbrella of “Grimm’s Fairy Tales”. Grieg did so much to give Norway a musical identity all it’s own with beautify, mystery, majesty, and awe.
You can almost feel the ancient dramas play out across the ragged peaks and countless steeped fjords through his incredible music. Such a gift to us and future generations ❤️

No I agree sadly. A lower quality upload. ‘Apple Music’ has been remastering many of the most popular classical pieces including this March in 3D “Dolby Atmos” and it’s absolutely breathtaking hearing the different orchestral recordings mixed into so many high-fidelity channels.

Now I'M hearing that... and before, all I could hear was Lake Wobegon lutefisk.
(Some years ago, I first heard the music as the "Sons of Knute March" on "A Prairie Home Companion".
