      what BS
you get food at the comfort of your own home,
you can send fresh food from restaurants which your old parents at home (when i am traveling i dont need to worry about groceries or food for them a few taps and within a short time stuff is delivered) ,
the convenience which zomato and swiggy offer far exceeds the 20 30 rupees you might save ,
i literally order 3 to 4 times a week and this is since 2017 or so , when Uber eats came in big. kudos to all these apps , and I support them totally ,
The delivery boys who are otherwise not educated are making about 15 to 20k per month, which otherwise would have roamed the streets and turned to crime, aren't you happy that they are at least working??

    Restaurants cost - 100 (offline)
    Delivery charge - 40
Restraunt increases cost by 30% to compensate for commission - online 130
Compensation for promotional discounts 50% increase - 180 new online
GST - which is already included in that 100 offline becomes a new cost online - 22 rupees
    Convenience fee - 5-10 rupees
Total - 180+40+22+10 - 50 promotion = 202 for a 100 rupees meal. I stopped using such apps to order after realising this
It is same with all the recent apps that tells that they make your life easier. But indirectly you are wasting money which is not making your life easier and also not making society's life easier. Always rising inflation is not good for anyone.

Ultimately at the end of the day it’s a business model. And it’s designed to make them money. Every businessman thinks about profit , so he’s not wrong in trying to make money from the app. Yes some marketing tactics are frustrating , but it is what it is. We do have to look at the positives as well, his single venture has created millions of jobs for so many people , plus given us the convenience of having food delivered to us within minutes. Yes it can sometimes feel like we’re overpaying for stuff , but considering all aspects of, I don’t really mind shelling out the extra odd 50-70 rs .

He could be a politician, giving such diplomatic answers 😂
First of all 1-2rs per order is vastly wrong , they take 5-6 rs per order as platform fees only , plus a commission from the restaurant as well as the driver. But let’s say for arguments sake that they’re making 2 rs pure profit per day per order after paying all their dues , salary etc. That’s still a massive amount as there are almost 10-12 lakh orders placed from zomato every day , and it shoots up to 20-25 lakh during festivals/weekends/ promotional offers. That’s minimum 20 lakh profit PER DAY. This is after all the pennies that zomato offers to its riders and staff.
This model is bringing in close to 72 crores per annum of pure profit. And that is the minimum ballpark, the real amount would definitely be much higher.
Credit where it’s due , this guy has made a fabulous business model , deserves to be a billionaire. Also think about his impact on the economy .His single venture has created millions for jobs for so many people.
