I have done everything like shown in this video. I get the "press button to add" screen but when I press Netflix button then it does not record anything. And when I click the button it records the back button. For some reason it recognises the back button but does not recognise the Netflix button even though I am pressing it. Similarly it is not recognising RUclips prime and other buttons that are there along with Netflix button.
Worked like a dream, no more NetFlix opening up on my screen!
I had the same problem with my Firestick... and never resolved this... but now have the nvidea shield tv pro..... first problem was that button... sure glad you put this out there. thank you!

Yea man thanks! That button was driving me crazy because i use kodi most of the time and im pretty sure you know how frustrating it is to have to wait for kodi to load up,finally find what you want to watch and then all of a sudden your back at the home screen during the best part of the movie because you acccidently sat on the netflix button!😂..🤝
Thanks for this video. Followed it to the letter using both the add-on from Google Play Store and your website. Works for a while then reverts back to Netflix. Using Nvidia Shield remote. Back to square one.
OMFG..!!! you're a godsend..! I was "this close" to taking a ten penny nail and driving it through this thing. And yes it was going to affect my marriage. I'm a retired broadcast engineer (which doesn't necessarily mean I'm wise, just experienced). I restore vintage electronics for my RUclips channel. This new-fangled tech tends to be overwhelming. I suppose if this thing had vacuum tubes I could've handled it better. I'm guilty of my own rhetoric. I used to sign off on trouble reports with: "E S O" (equipment superior to operator). . . . karma is a bitch ;)

Unfortunately for me, the setting doesn’t last. Sure it works fine when I first set it up, I can press the Netflix button and nothing happens. But after a while, I can press the Netflix button accidentally or on purpose and it brings up Netflix. I’ve had to set it up three three times since installing the app and I’ m following the video instructions to the letter. Great idea, but it’s it fully working for me.
Is that on RUclips nVidia Shield ? Hmm. Mine lasts forever. Did you get the app from my website or the Google Play store?

@michaelparmes1032 what happens when you try? If you get a security message, click install anyway. You can always trust apps from my website. I test them thoroughly before sharing them.
@@CordCuttersLII get no messages. When I try to install the via your website,it will not install on my I Nvidia Shield. The app will install from the Google Play Store but will not work properly.

It was simple and right to the point.
I had to reset my shield, and this was a necessary first step.
Not that my opinion matters, i think nvidia shield is quite popular still; but, unlike yourself, I would never purchase another nvidia shield again. (I have a 2019pro.)
It's currently getting outdated in hardware and the home UI is adware for disney, netflix, etc.... If you just wanted a streaming device, the nvidia shield is very expensive for an adware driven device.
Now if you have a video showing how to keep the nvidia shield's awesome controller, but change the UI to something else, that'd be great, esp if it can be degoogled.

I tried to fix the Netflix Button, and now I have no enter or down button. so I can't even get into any of my apps. I don't know how to delete. button mapper.
I installed a mouse and was able to delete button mapper

I'm glad I found and subscribed to your channel because I've learned a lot. One thing, instead of moving your face up, down, left, right, centered, why not just turn that part off so you can just tell it like it is (instead of somewhat seeing you). After the information is given, then come back with your face full screen and show how things work or don't work. Thank you for your informational videos.
