That said, I wouldn't care if they reverted the stun duration, since most of Ttar's buffs were from the casting speed. Increased stun just makes it less fun for everyone.

T-tar was fine before it got that buff, mainly, in my opinion, the movement speed change on sand tomb
Tyranitar in a duo or a trio playing as solo player feel so impossible especially if they gonna play an healer on top of it.
88% banned on draft last week says everything.
Literally we see all that Tyranitar get in every draft, so I think his ban rate will be higher than 88,23%.
I main Tyranitar and even I know he's broken. Why they made the stun on sand tomb last longer is beyond me
Ttar was fine without the buffs, all timi had to do was speed up the attack speed of stone edge, he didn't need a buff to sand tomb, he didn't need more health, he didn't need more defenses. Leave tyranitar alone the way he was before. Now timi is going to nerf the poor pokemon to oblivion and make him worse than when he started

No lane ttar is not the problem, teammates are problem. I always end up doing 30+% of my team damage no matter what. But I lose mostly because of my team, because I'm doing my job.

Lane is also good. But it can be less consistent in my opinion, as it depends on the ability of laners more.
As a dedicated TTar main, I'm really passionate about this Pokémon, but the recent buffs feel excessive. Many who claim TTar is easy to counter likely haven't faced a skilled player who adapts their build and moveset based on the matchup. Plus, the "bully him early" strategy is completely ineffective due to the ridiculously forgiving comeback EXP system TiMi created.

Yeah, he is quite quite strong right now, I've always used the sand toomb + stone edge build cuz its so fun and its very tanky with the multiple passive procs, and I've always done really good, but damm, it didn't use to hit this hard
One of the things ppl don't realize that make Tyranitar beyond broken is that the current metagame relies on shields more than sustain for survivability. You buff the Pokémon with the ability to ignore shields at all times in a game reliant on shields and it will always create a mess (See: Rapid Strike Urshifu)
To be fair the enemy team kept jumping directly into Ttar's mouth hole over and over
Thats one of the main factors in its win rate imo.
He also had wish umbreon and was able to get jungle making it seem like this is the average ttar experience

I played with a team (zacian, dragapult, Mewtwo x, Pikachu, blaistoise) and the tyranitar 1v1d in our goal without backup. We were all full health. He came with a regieleki. I managed to escape but everyone else died.
Always remember that Oppression is the best Protection.
Side tangent: Use Earthquake on Mamoswine more. The 2s stun is worth what you lose in mobility and pushing away opponents.
Plus, they're not going to be able to threaten your team if they're vulnerable in the line of fire for 2 seconds too many.
If you look at the winrates, it’s the sand tomb builds that are dominating while ancient power builds are doing just fine. I wouldn’t mind sand tomb nerfs as I like playing ancient power more anyways, the uptime is kind of ridiculous considering all it does (slow, damage reduction, true damage).
I still dont think it is broken. You can invade him, bully him, make him miserable and make Ttar remain as pupitar on the half of the game, you can cast against him, you can stun him, you can run from him and play around Ttar, and if this is not good enough, there's many pokemon that can counter him. And this particular game is not a very good showcase, because you team is insanely op and has great sinergy with each other: Eldegoss gives shield, heals and buff resistence, Umbreon buff the resistence, heals and stop one target from moving and run away, gardevoir poke them (something that mean look has trapped), decidueye dps and poke them (also the ones mean look trapped), and tyranitar jumps on their head and stomp them (guess who he jumpson???? The one who mean look has trapped), and on top of that, tyranitar receives more buffs on defense and more heal from two other pokemons. Now you're playing against who???? GROUND GARCHOMP????? TALONFLAME??? SYLVEON???? And Surf Slowbro, and Blissey that's ok.
Once I saw the buffs, I got tempted to buy it for 14k coins, but then I realized it's almost always gonna be banned anyway. Also I honestly didn't remember that the Sand Tomb stun was made longer.
As much i hate to say it as a ttar main ... But sandtomb stun duration is bit too much... Combined with slowness is a deadly buff.. but i dont want it to be gutted hard .. it used to be so hard playing with it ..
I still feel stone edge is good now and should be untouched..
Best counter for ttar is a9 , mamo, slowbro, machamp, lucario
There is a reason why Gardevoir is top 9th pick last week as well as this week. She is one of the best counters to Tyranitar right now and people are finally realizing it. Even though I’ve always known
I think Garde is just good in general and not necessarily a Ttar counter honestly or at least the best one. Ancient power ttar can ignore CC, Sand tomb still gets the lunge when CCd, it has a lot of flexibility to run items like eject/full heal/X speed, with its natural bulk (especially combod with a support), etc
Garde does have high damage and carry potential with one of the best unite moves. It's also cheap, straightforward, and has seen a lot of competitive play after its unite move buffs as one of the best combo mons with defenders like Crustle, Umbreon mean look Snorlax, CC mons like Wiggly/Sableye/Mime/.., etc
In my opinion Delphox(mystical fire+flame charge) is better counter to ttar as it provides sufficient range and mobility to co counter ttar

I played lot of tyranitar before the buff and felt like a weight on my team, now it doesn't feel like it's needed on every team but it is really good
just wish if they nerf they don't do it too much so it was bad like before
1.5 seconds stunt in a 10-minute game is insane.
People dont play around sand tomb tbf, no one tries to actually dodge the stun, players are so bad they dont even react, the moveset has a lot of counterplay but players are bad and cause hes banned so much itll take even longer for them to learn. it needs its stun nerfed but they do not need to massively nerf tyranitar or he will just be overnerfed
Ttar still gets countered by a good team comp. In comp he will still be seen as a joke pick no doubt. Early evos are becoming more and more common with solid game states early to end. Balance is super wack in general. Like you said they don't even try and one mentioned mathcord making a doc and still chose to ignore it cause oh if i get hit by the sandtomb i die. Sad to see the playerbase still choose to not learn matchups and how the game works.

I feel like Tyranitar is actually broken but he is not God Tier broken(little bit less than release Tyranitar). He deserves to be broken at least right this time(before the new balance change arrives) due to the fact that this mon is played rarely. After I found out that I win games much more often with Stone Edge/Sand Tomb, I stopped playing it. I feel like its not hard to balance this mon. Maybe just an increase in Sand Tomb CD(2 sec increase might make a change) might make it much less broken but if that doesn't work then Sand Tomb by itself may need nerfs. Stone Edge, in my opinion, shouldn't be touched because its right now the only good way for Ttar to lane. So, changing this move might be tricky.

stone edge insta cast is the REAL broken stuff, you dont expect the burst damage you receive when tyranitar just sand tomb jump you and get stun by 1.5 seg, also you can flip objetives by yourself thanks of that damage
i feel like even when i lose lane as ttar and evolve late i still get a triple kill late game onc i reach level 11/12
and even if you do manage to kite/ escape the ttar first since it has insane bulk you need many rotation to kill it pretty sure the sylveon here would need 3/4 full duration hyper voice to kill you during that time
you have numerous opportunity to hit the tombs and heavily damage it or leave
and if you have a speedster to deal with the pesky attacker its basically gg

He's melee with ok range
Just stay out of his range, jump away, use walls, dash through walls and blast him
If you fight him closely, you die
If you try to stay in his sand tumb, you die
If you don't have dashes/butten you die
Fight him in the open in jumping range, you die

It’s what happens when something is top tier in any game all of the apologists come out of the woodworks. It happened with Mew, Dodrio, Venusaur, etc. It’s even worse with Unite ‘cause you know how unaware the player base is.
It's not op, but in solo q it can be a pain to deal with especially with teammates feeding. So I just ban it. It's the most annoying mon to deal with post level 9.

i guess they could revert every change except stone edge buff. Then it could feel better and hopefully one of my mains is not banned litteraly every game. I would rather take pre buff tyranitar because that way I could atleast play. This is one of the things I don't like about draft. I am not playing to win a tournament I am playing to have fun. The long preparation time in draft coupled with a pokemon I like so much being unable to be played cus of the ban system really makes it dull. Thankfully charizard is my other main which no one bans.
It's too broken. The true damage is just so good.
So you deal more than 100k damage in every single match. It's better if you use fuel heal instead eject botton, because trevenant has highest pick rate, so he can push you out of the sand tomb, use fuel heal what I always use that battle item.

To me the buff that was unnecesary was the stun bufff. It should stun for less. 1sec at most.

Yeah trying poke lets us stomp into engage with a stun. Not fighting lets us hog experience. With a strong early kit and busted late game its a strong pokemon. Items: muscle band/ razor claw/ focus band. Prefer potion over eject as TTar has a dash before and after evolution. Helps stay tanky too
After certain characters were previously nerfed, the playerbase is mostly biased. Then again, the cc is the major issue. The one's who constantly complain about eeveelutions(as they're clearly biased to an extreme to only them), the same way they'll always complain about certain characters who are either overtuned or downright too slippery or tanky because they cannot find ways to adapt to it.
I don't technically find ttar op, i don't have much of an issue against it, but gyarados is a different story
Gyrados is like having built in hax with how buffed he is imo. I don't know how the gyrados mains even get the mon killed cause for an all rounder it shreds everything with ease and has some insane movement options. A good gyrados is nightmare fuel while a good ttar is just tough to fight if they have a supportive team but nothing more than that and early evo comps still dominate more.
It clearly gotten a slap on the wrist with that unite move cd increase. Kinda wish there was a bit more than that.

This is a horrible example the enemies team comp was perfect for a ttar game. Talonflame,Garchomp,chansey,slowbro & Sylveon of course ttar would look op against that. Plus they were also running right to you smh 🤦🏾♂️
There are good counters to ttar. I think some people want to just vent, which is understandable. Dragonite is a solid counter. I was a level 14 or 15 ttar and got solo killed by a Dragonite. Not sure what his build was, but it was surprising how fast I died. Maybe it was outrage? I think Azumarill is another good counter with play rough invincibility and guaranteed crit rate/damage in a 1v1. Slowbro unite move is always a strong counter. Hardcore saved his team the Ray fight by using his unite move on me outside of the Ray pit and securing Ray for his team. There are counters, even if not many, and draft mode makes it so you can almost always ban it. But I get that it’s not the most fun to play against.
The Dragonite and the Azumarill were just too good or you are just incredibly bad to lose at that specific point of the game.

Everyone says people suck at playing against Tyranitar but what they never say is that people are just as bad at supporting too. I can't count all the games I tried to play Tyranitar and the oafs on my team picked crap like late game 3 stage ADCs with no XP Shares on the lane or other late game all Rounders. The reality is that a lot of Tyranitar counterplay only works when your team gets to focus it and the rest of its team puts on no pressure. The second Tyranitar's team actually starts to *work* with it, it becomes unstoppable. Like your team just waddled around with you and the enemy team was screwed.
when i paly with ttar i usually use unite-sandtomb-fullheal-stoneedge-basics

Stone edge is really good but sand tomb got way overbuffed, its hard to outrun and the true damage boost is way too much from sand tomb

I feel like the only legit counter ttar is trevenant just because he’s so omega strong and is one of the only characters that utilizes hp recovery instead of shields and has so much cc. Not to mention painsplit hurts ttar like hell if you do go that build

I don't think it is that OP tbh. The buffs were not THAT large and it received no buff to its damage. It has always been a late game mon. They just made the early game a little easier with the little extra def/sp def/hp. It doesn't need the sand build to do the things you did with it. You also had 2 healers, no? Elde and Wish Umbreon, so....there's that.
I said he was good when he first came out. I always go with the non conventional movesets. Stone edge was so slow you could run away from it. Espeon stored power was good to me but lacked damage. I feel like if the buff all the mons just right the game state would be a little better besides some of the players. Machamp needs some love, charizard needs some love. I cant think of any other mons that need some love that wont make them too overpowered.
it definitely depends on the user. we carried one who jungled and just fed the entire game. he was our lowest leveled and 2nd lowest damage dealt by the end. my decidueye and our pikachu did more damage than them lol.
In a vacuum, Ttar is fine, but Unite is a team game.
The utilty Ttar provides the team to secure kills and win team fights outweighs the solo capabilities of the Pokemon.

The reason the winrate is also so high is because it gets banned a lot, leaving less variance in games.

I literally play cookie and guard with a +500HP white emblem page. My only attack item is weight and I'm still taking over games. That shouldn't be a thing 😅

we matched into a japanese lobby they left ttar for us and we took it , they picked sylveon top and espeon jungle and those two completley smoked the early game we had no way to kill a sylve hoopa early game, still ended up winning cuz the ttar got espeon's KO once and was able to reach leve 13, end team fight we won after being down 300-100 i think. that was the only game I think you would come close to losing with ttar if its left open in draft pick.. its way too broken .
It got like 6 or 7 buff untill now big one is this patch and it ability to lifesteal with true dmg. Also ttar before this patch never have burst dmg buff make it too good it all spot
Tyranitar is difficult to counter, but it first need to get there.

They gotta find a way to nerf it so it's still fun because Sand Tomb Stone Edge is a million times more fun than Ancient Power Dark Pulse was and I'd hate for this Moveset to be nerfed into irrelevancy.
I think tyranitar should be really strong though. Not in the ex pokemon sense, like "these special pokemon should be better than the whole roster." But it's not really good at all until 9. Like it's not completely unusable, and as you demonstrated you can usually get there within 3-4 minutes, but until you hit that power spike you'll be outclassed by everything. And considering most matches are determined by who wins the ray fight, doesn't it make sense that a late game sweeper would have a high win rate? This is at least better than the Eevee meta. With how snow bally games can be, they got great early and remained dominant even into the late game. If they nerfed tyranitar and he was only decent in the late game, why deal with the leveling curve? If say garchomp and tyranitar were about as strong at level 9, why play tyranitar? Garchomp is so much better early game, it makes no sense to pick something that sucks for the first 3 minutes if it's only going to be on par with the rest of the cast after. Maybe it needs some minor nerfs, I don't know I'm not a game dev. You can make larvitar bad, you can make pupitar bad, but if tyranitar isn't better than the majority of mons, that's just antithetical to its design. If that's unfair, fine I guess, but at that point you should give it a 5-7 evolution, or at least give it its second move at 7. Personally, I like its design. Useless for a while but then just a monster in the second half. It's a lot of fun and I think it's unique, other than Gyarados there aren't that many other pokemon that fill that role. I just don't want it gutted, I love tyranitar and I'm glad it's finally good
I bought it today, played three games. 40k first game and then two 90k+ games in a row. its very strong in the hands of someone who has no idea how to play it lol

I think the buffs made it too consistent, so I do believe they should nerf the defense stats late game especially it’s passive being a massive problem as well.
Going against Tyranitar in blind pick while I just so happen to play a melee feels so awful
Except there was a moment where I played Metagross blind pick against a Tyranitar. It would've been a nightmare but luckily that enemy Tyranitar player AFK'd which made me laugh and helped my team stomp the game and make the enemy surrender. It was actually funny.

I don't have higher win rate on tyranitar because of trash teammates, I always end up doing 30+% damage of my team all the time. Like literally. But yes if you play Delphox, Gardevoir, or Cram, it might have difficulties dealing with you.

What i would remove is either true damage or the part that allows him to ignore shields with regular moves and only allows his unite to do both

Ttar is broken but every close range Pokémon is getting countered from slowbro and stun and pray you get good teammates..but really who cares about ttar or trevenant being broken when i have leftovers exp share potion glaceon in 2000 masters
ttar + comfey game over for the opposition early game the opposition gets some chance but late game gg and you cant ban if you play in mobile so every time there is a ttar in the opposite team
Agree, but "Trevnant" is a better counter for this..
Tyranitar is weak again. Why did they also nerf the unite move lol.
